Hands-on learning is the heart of a Millsaps education. We call it the Major Experience.

Perhaps you want to work with your neuroscience professor as they develop the next breakthrough in preventing traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). Maybe you want to use your classroom experience to help your community by interning at a local nonprofit. Or maybe your dream is to study abroad and immerse yourself in a different culture. Wherever your ambitions lie, the Major Experience will take you there.

Undergraduate Research

Research is woven throughout many of the courses found at Millsaps College. From market research in a business class to studying the link between racism and Shakespeare’s Othello, our excellent faculty will guide you as you delve past the surface into your favorite subject.

Career Education And Community Engagement

At Millsaps, we believe our students learn best by doing. The Millsaps Center for Career Education and our Community Engaged Learning academic program provide our students with connections to the world outside of Millsaps. These connections include internships, career resources, interview preparation and job-search coaching.

Ma Jor Pathways

You have interests. We can help you create a path to success based on them.

Some students know what they will do after college before they start high school, while others use their college years to explore the possibilities.

Millsaps’ Pathways Program is there for both.
