WELCOME
The excitement surrounding the return of Bat Boy: The Musical is electric! After 21 years, the energy is truly something special. If you experienced it two decades ago, prepare to be surprised and entertained all over again. I had the privilege of choreographing the original production, and the original cast has been on my mind. I reached out to them, and it was heartwarming to hear just how much this production continues to mean to them. Here are some of their reflections:
Arika Schockmel (Ned/Ruthie) “I will always remember the magic of locking in the music for “Comfort and Joy”, the “actor cave” for quick changes under the band platform, throwing rubber bats at Brenda, and the double whammy flu and blizzard that truncated our run. This show holds a special place in my heart, and I am so excited to experience it again.”
Kim Blackett (Sheriff) “I’m looking forward to be seeing the show from the audience…no memorizing. I’m honored to have Doug Irey take the “Sheriff baton. And as I always text Doug before any show he’s in: “Don’t #### up!” Break legs!”
David Spencer (the once and former Dr Parker) “Sending all my love and best wishes to the company. Have a wonderful run, break legs, and may Bat Boy hold and save you all! Special greetings to Robert Scott Smith as he moves to the dark side and takes on Dr. Parker! He’ll be terrific, I’m sure!”
Polly Seale (Meredith) “Loved my time playing Meredith and belting those high notes every night! Glad you are doing the show in a warmer season so you won’t have to worry about the snow and the flu epidemic… get your flu shots everyone! Best part of doing the show (other than the high F’s) was working with Cynthia and my dear stage daughter Faith.”
Brenda Sue Cowley (Ron/Maggie the Mayor/ a Shadow Woman who gives birth to Bats)
“I’m planning on singing really LOUDLY through the whole performance. Forever Bat Boy!”
