Director’s Note Dear Odyssey Patron, What another amazing year for Odyssey, and it’s hard to believe that we are now in our 22nd season of Thriller! When we first produced this show, we had sold only 50 tickets for four mere performances four days away from opening. Now we are doing 25 performances at Kingsbury alone, and we have two companies of the show touring Utah; one company to Salt Lake and Pocatello, and the other to Park City, Provo, Ogden, Price and Tuacahn in St. George! Although we do new pieces in the show every year, it is amazing how many of the original pieces we put together still remain the staples of the production. We had the chance to tour Europe again this last spring for the thirteenth consecutive year, and we’ve won Best of State Dance Company for the thirteenth year in a row! Guest Artist DARLA DAY is the Director of Aeris Aerial Arts in Sandy, Utah. She has been performing professionally as a principal aerial acrobat for 10 years with Circus Chimera ( a 7 generation Mexican Circus), Cirque USA, Cirque Du Soleil, J&D Entertainment, Sony, MTV, and Ke$ha, The Osmonds, Britney Spears, and has also produced 8 local CirqueStyle shows in downtown Salt Lake City. She and her husband Nik Day started a non-profit, 90&9, on behalf of suicide prevention. 90&9’s mission is to uplift lives through the power of the performing arts. They provide cirque, and music workshops for at risk teens as well as produce cirque style concept shows that address the “hard” issues that words sometimes can’t express.
