rank and I have had the pleasure of seeing productions of our The Count of Monte Cristo all over Europe and Asia, but I am truly excited to experience it here in Utah, at the Pioneer Theatre Company, where I’ll finally be able to hear the lyrics and dialog that I wrote in the original English. Karen Azenberg, the Artistic Director of the Pioneer and a friend of many years, approached Frank and me with the idea of doing a professional production here and I’m lucky and very thankful that she did. Karen brought to the table not only the fantastic facilities and support staff of the Pioneer Theatre but the unbelievably talented Director, Marcia Milgrom Dodge, someone with a bold vision and the energy and gift to bring that vision to life on the stage. Ms. Dodge’s excitement is infectious and energized both Frank and myself into a reimagining of the piece, which I now can’t wait to experience on the stage of this fabulous theater. I hope you, the audience, will enjoy this musical as much as Frank and I did in the creation of this brand new production. Jack Murphy April 16, 2016

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO

The Painful Truth Pain is an unbidden guest, humanity’s shadow companion down through the ages. It is a despoiler of dreams and a thief. Chronic pain can appear suddenly in a person’s life, changing it forever. Dr. Lynn R. Webster puts a face on chronic pain through the lives of his patients, and provides an intimate view of what it is like to live with it. The Painful Truth The Painful Truth ad your eyes to the world will open pre-print of those who are stigmatized page 45 and marginalized by our society and healthcare system. Yet the new book offers hope and a path forward for those willing to engage in a crusade against the human race’s primal enemy—pain. “This book gives voice to real people who suffer with chronic pain and to their caregivers. With the wisdom and compassion of a seasoned practitioner, he tells their stories....We would all do well to heed the call of those forced to live with chronic pain. This excellent book is a very good place to start.” —The Rev. George Anthony Hoeltzel, Episcopal priest, Yonkers, New York
