Willie Reale
Welcome to Salt Lake Acting Company’s 13th annual children’s play, A Year With Frog and Toad. This story is a singing and dancing reminder of the power of friendship. We’re so excited to have you join us inperson.
I want to acknowledge our actors who bring this timeless and wellloved book to life on our stage. It must be a joy to tell this charming story and inspire our young theatre-goers. For many, it is the first time they’ve seen a play. I asked our glorious actors to embrace their inner child and tell us what they remember about their first play experience.
“I remember seeing my first play and thinking how wonderful it must be to be on stage, in front of the lights and all those people, and making them feel all the emotions, and I remember asking myself: could I do that? Well, now I do.”
~Danny Borba“The first show I ever saw was Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella when I was 5. It was a beautiful and magical production, but I would not stop worrying about why the lights went down in the theatre! “Where’d the lights go?”
~Hannah
Keating“On my seventh birthday, my family and I got all dressed up, walked to PTC like we were in London, and saw South Pacific. I remember all the colors and how excited I was when the shower had real water coming out of it in one scene. We realized we were walking about 1/2 a block behind the lead actress on our walk home. I remember how curly her hair was and how incredible it was that being in a musical was her job! I will always remember that walk, realizing that actors were just people and that maybe I could do that one day.”
~Anne Louis Brings“Theatre is such a magical experience. For a little bit, I felt like I was watching my imagination in real life.”
~Eli Ghaeili
“My first show was Charlotte’s Web. I remember being so immersed in the story—everything was enchanting.”
- Chris Curlett
Thank you for joining us and embracing your inner child.
Wishing you joy and light this holiday season, Cynthia Executive Artistic Director

We are collecting toys, socks, underwear, boots, thermal gloves, and gift cards during the run of the show for YWCA Utah’s pop-up store, Candy Cane Lane. This incredible partnership will bring joy to children and teens living at the shelter this holiday season.

GREEN ROOM GALLERY
Back for the eleventh year, we are proud to partner with the Visual Art Institute! Student artwork will be displayed in SLAC’s Green Room Gallery — inspired by the school’s efforts to plant the seed of creative curiosity early in life.
Established in 1978, VAI encourages students to integrate their creativity into every spect of their thinking, education and life, and provides exceptional visual art programs to elementary through high school students, including year-round classes and an intensive figurative workshop in the summer. VAI provides high-quality instruction and classes in a wide range of media focusing on essential applied skills, working largely from life, as well as conceptual thinking. Many VAI students go on to earn local, state, and national awards as well as entrance and scholarships to top universities and art schools throughout the country.
You’ll find literature about the Visual Art Institute in the Gallery. Please stop in to enjoy the exhibition.
