Welcome My dear SLAC Audience,
After seeing a sneak peek of SATURDAY’S VOYEUR, Frank Whitby sent this email to me: “Theater artists must persist against all odds, exercise their craft, and create satire. You must shape a better world. Thank you for all you do at SLAC.” This email filled my heart with appreciation for SATURDAY’S VOYEUR. This musical satire allows us to be brave and inspire change. This is especially critical in our current political climate when authentic voices are silenced and integrity seems to not matter. Most importantly, SATURDAY’S VOYEUR creates the space for all of us to come together and, for a few hours, laugh in the midst of it all. Thank you for joining us. The magic that permeates SLAC, both onstage and off, begins with you. On behalf of our entire staff, we extend our gratitude to you for helping us break the record for our subscriber and attendance numbers this season. We are honored by your faith in us and your choice to spend the evening (the season, the years) with us. Welcome to the Shit Show, my friends. Мы любим тебя! (We love you!) IN REMEMBRANCE Jenessa Bowen Saturday’s Voyeur 2017 is in memory of Jenessa Bowen. Salt Lake Acting Company was lucky enough to have Jenessa grace our stage regularly. She continually blew us away with her energy, generosity and raw talent. Jenessa was an important member of the SLAC family, and a huge part of Utah’s theatre community. We love your guts, Jenessa! I CAN HELP YOU SELL YOUR HOME SO YOU CAN MOVE TO RUSSIA. WE HAVE GOOD VODKA, (BUT NO CHEETOS)

WHO’S WHO ERIC LEE BROTHERSON* is celebrating his 19th year in
Actor’s Equity, and is thrilled to be in his 2nd Voyeur at SLAC, having performed in it last year. He just returned from Arizona for Arizona Theatre Company’s 50th Anniversary production of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF. In his career, Eric has performed in 25 countries, 45 states, and over 100 cities worldwide. He has performed from rural casinos to Lincoln Center to European opera houses. He has choreographed, taught voice and dance, and coaches privately. He graduated with honors in the social sciences and English, but has remained in the arts because he believes in the sacredness of storytelling. His proudest moments on stage were as Tugger in the NW Premiere of CATS, as Mike in Pioneer’s production of Chorus Line, and in the Seattle production of Tommy directed by Brian Yorkey, where he was associate choreographer and dance captain. To Marc and my family for their love and support. Additional Credits include SPAMALOT, PIPPIN, MY FAIR LADY, INTO THE WOODS, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN, and HELLO DOLLY at 5th Ave Theatre in Seattle. The Lion, Witch, and the Wardrobe, PETER PAN at Seattle Childrens Theatre. OKLAHOMA, GYPSY, and MIRETTE at Sundance Outdoor Theatre. Beauty and the Beast, SOUTH PACIFIC, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES, and THE WEDDING BANQUET at The Village Theatre in Seattle. And MAN OF LA MANCHA, ANNIE, SUNSET BOULEVARD, 42nd STREET, THE PRODUCERS, and FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, at Pioneer Theatre Company.
JUSTIN IVIE* is a proud member of Actors’ Equity who is
thrilled be a part of SLAC’s 46 the season! His many other acting credits include appearances with Pioneer Theatre Company, Utah Musical Theatre, Egyptian Theatre Company, Old Lyric Repertory Theatre and many others - both locally and in Chicago. A Weber State alumnus, Justin earned his MFA in Acting at Northern Illinois University. He has taught theatre and communications at LDS Business College, NIU, Triton College, and Weber State. Justin also designs scenery, props and theatrical masks, writes an occasional play, and sometimes even plays his banjo (when he’s pretty sure no one is listening).

Theatrically, Jillian was recently seen along the Wasatch Front as Anita in WEST SIDE STORY at CPT, being dragged to her death in MAN OF LA MANCHA with Utah Opera, and creepily selling flowers in Español in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE at the Grand. ANNETTE WRIGHT is back! Playing Heavenly Mother in Voyeur
last summer was SA FUN, I decided to go another round! I have performed in many of the theaters around town since 1989 and in a variety of film work since the late 90s, but working at SLAC is a JOY. My last show at SLAC besides Saturdays Voyeur was BLOODY, BLOODY, ANDREW JACKSON, and before that MOONLIGHT AND MAGNOLIAS and WAIT by Julie Jensen. I love performing and making audiences laugh. Thank you to all of the subscribers for your support, it makes coming back to the stage easy!
ALLEN NEVINS (Playwright) has been writing for SATURDAY’S VOYEUR the last 29 years. He came to Salt Lake Acting Company in 1989 as the Literary Manager and in 1990 he formed a writing and business partnership with Nancy Borgenicht. In 1993, their partnership, Saturday’s Voyeur, Inc., became the management company and the Executive Producers of Salt Lake Acting Company, for which they received the UAF Mayors Award for the Performing Arts and also the Governor’s Award for the Arts. As Executive Producers they expanded and re-built the Upstairs Theatre, designed and built the Chapel Theatre as an alternative performing space, unionized SLAC’s acting pool and re-instituted SATURDAY’S VOYEUR as the annual summer fundraiser for Salt Lake Acting Company. After 39 years Saturday’s Voyeur remains an outlet for discourse, dissent, irreverent humor, cheap shots at elected officials; and of course, political in-correctness in all its forms.
NANCY BORGENICHT (Lyricist) has been part of The Salt Lake Acting Company since 1974. She served as Co-Executive Producer with Allen Nevins from 1993-2005 and as Interim Executive Producer for the 2009-2010 Season. She

Her directing credits for SLAC include ANGELS IN AMERICA, WHITE MAN DANCING, OLEANNA, WOMEN AND WALLACE, CABBIES, COWBOYS ANDTHE TREE OF THE WEEPING VIRGIN, and SATURDAY’S VOYEUR from 1993 to 2003. She conceived and created SATURDAY’S VOYEUR in 1978.
CYNTHIA FLEMING (Director/
Choreographer, Executive Artistic Director) has been in the world of dance and theatre professionally for over 38 years, during which time she performed in the Broadway, National and International companies with A CHORUS LINE. Since 1995 she has worn many hats at SLAC, including Choreographer, Director, Box Office Manager and Director of Audience Services. She developed SLAC’s high quality customer service titled: Mayberry meets Space Odyssey, which is the foundation for the record breaking number of subscribers. She conceived and created the position of Director of Communication and Audience Development and assembled the communication team to generate a renewed energy and excitement about the theatre. In 2010 she became Co-Executive Producer and is now honored to be SLAC’s Executive Artistic Director. Cynthia remains a working artist in the theatre and has choreographed many SLAC productions including SATURDAY’S VOYEUR for 15 years and directed/choreographed this musical for 6 years. UNIVERSITY PROFESSIONAL THEATRE PROGRAM SLAC is delighted to partner with local universities to heighten theatre students’ educational experience by taking them out of the classroom and hiring them at a professional theatre. During SATURDAY'S VOYEUR 2017, we would like to welcome Katryna Williams, Martin C. Alcocer, Gavin Yehle, and Daniel Garner as a part of the University Professional Theatre Program.
From Left to Right: Daniel Garner, Katryna Williams, Gavin Yehle, and Martin C. Alcocer
"My hope from this program is to continue working and building professional connections in the theatre community. This is the career path I want to be in, and with ever changing technology, it is important to network as much as possible while learning as much as you can." – Daniel Garner | Light Board Operator | Weber State University "The experience of working with a professional team (actors, designers, directors, SMs, etc. ) and being held to a professional standard is invaluable as a student. To be able to graduate with the knowledge of how a professional theatre works and have the skills to excel as an actress is the amazing benefit of this program." – Katryna Williams | Actor | University of Utah "I see this opportunity as a good way to start building up a working relationship with Salt Lake Acting Company, in order to help me gain more career opportunities once I graduate from the U." – Gavin Yehle | Sound Board Operator | University of Utah "I think this program will better help me become a valuable, skillful worker and collaborator in my chosen career path, as a Stage Manager, upon graduation as I enter the workforce." GREEN ROOM Our Green Room Gallery is a collective endeavor between community and artists. This space allows us to offer a variety of diverse visual perspectives from local artists based on inspiration found from themes raised onstage. In keeping with SLAC’s mission to nurture our local, creative community, we celebrate these reinforcements born between the visual and performing arts. All sales go directly to the exhibiting artist. Throughout the run of SATURDAY’S VOYEUR 2017 we are beyond thrilled to present work by painter Terence K Stephens. In this show, “Greater Salt Lake”, Stephens portrays the natural beauty and the natural disorder that encompasses this city. There is a charm and an oddness, a perk and a quirk, that are all part of the magnetic pull of the mountains that surround us. There is great food for fodder here in Salt Lake, that nourishes creativity and provokes consternation and makes for great theatre.
