MARC NIELSON – he/ him/his – Marc was born on the 21st of July in the 1990th year of our lord. He was originally born Marcus Nathaniel Kennedy, however, a mistake at the hospital had him switched at birth with the Nielson’s. By the time the mistake had been discovered the Kennedy’s no longer wanted him because; Quote, “Gross, poor people touched him.” End quote. Despite this setback Marc showed immense promise as a toddler. At the age of two he had composed his first concerto, by three he had mastered the linguistic subtleties of both English and Italian. He was his family’s pride, the dreams of their collective future rested upon his chiseled baby shoulders, and then, he fell down the stairs… head first. Each step that tragically rose to greet his still softened baby skull robbed Marc of all possible futures. Doctor was gone on the first step, followed by lawyer, then entrepreneur, teacher, janitor; all gone. By the time Marc’s dumb little baby head hit the basement landing his future was sealed. A comedian, one step away from useless. So began Marc’s arduous journey through life, chronicled here in this seven part biography… wait, what do you mean 200 word limi-…

Music & Lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe
Licensed under agreement with Weekly World News
Apr. 9 - May 4, 2025
The musical comedy/horror sensation based on the “cult story” published in The Weekly World News about a half boy/half bat creature discovered in a cave near Hope Falls, West Virginia comes back to Salt Lake Acting Company after 21 years. This campy, heartfelt musical is a satirical commentary on prejudice and tolerance in America.

PROFESSIONAL THEATRE PROGRAM FOR EMERGING ARTISTS
Through the Professional Theatre Program for Emerging Artists (PTP), SLAC provides opportunities for students and early-career theatre artists to gain meaningful, fully paid experience by integrating them into the production cycle. This production’s PTP participants are Nate Ginsberg, Hannah Keating, and Alexa Shaheen.
Professional Theatre Program participants Hannah Keating, Nate Ginsberg, and Alexa Shaheen.
After performing in two children’s musicals at SLAC, I jumped at the opportunity to work on the other side of the table. Assisting Cynthia with direction and choreography, and working with this company of professionals has been an invaluable, hands-on learning experience. I’m grateful to the PTP for supporting me in the next step of my creative career.
- Hannah Keating
I am incredibly grateful to SLAC for giving me the opportunity to earn professional credits while still in school. Working with professionals has been wonderful in preparing me to enter the field after graduation. SLAC has truly been a fantastic place to play, create, and grow!
- Nate Ginsberg
Working at Salt Lake Acting Company has been something that has been such a beautiful experience that I am incredibly grateful for. Spending so much time with creatives that make big, bold choices has really allowed for me to grow exponentially as an artist. Salt Lake Acting Company has really cultivated an environment that is safe for play and full collaboration; something that is essential for artists to produce their best work and have fun while doing it
