WELCOME

Welcome to Salt Lake Acting Company, and thank you for celebrating our 53rd season with us! We are thrilled to kick off this season with a play by the acclaimed, award-winning playwright Chisa Hutchinson, marking the second time one of Chisa’s plays has opened our season—her heartful and powerful Surely, Goodness, and Mercy launched our season in 2017. We’ve also proudly featured her work, Amerikin, in our New Play Sounding Series. Chisa is truly one of the most remarkable playwrights of our time, and her warmth, humanity, and sense of humor are reflected in everything she creates.

This year, we’ve curated a season that is sure to captivate, surprise, and delight even the most seasoned theatergoer, exemplifying the SLAC experience. It’s our gift to you—our audience—who remain at the heart of all we do. Your passion fuels our artistic passion, and this season, you’ll witness work on our stage, unlike anything we’ve presented before.

But SLAC’s impact extends beyond the stage. We strive to be a vital resource to our community through our Making Space for Artists program, arts education programs, collaborations with local nonprofits, and groundbreaking work in new play development. Our influence is felt not just locally but on a national scale as we continue to champion innovation and inclusivity in the arts.

We are so grateful for your presence today. Our dedicated staff is here to ensure you have a wonderful experience, and we deeply appreciate your ongoing commitment to our work—both onstage and off. Your support is what makes our mission possible, and we are truly thankful for it.

With love and gratitude, Cynthia
