MISSION: Tuacahn edifies and inspires the human spirit through professional world-class family entertainment and an unparalleled artistic and educational experience that matches the majesty of our canyon. Known best for its professional theatre, Tuacahn attracts the most talented actors in America. Each year, thousands of applicants audition from New York City to Los Angeles. Tuacahn productions include members of Actors’ Equity Association, the union for professional actors and stage managers, many of whom have appeared on Broadway or and other nationally recognized venues. As a community asset, Tuacahn entertains more than 350,000 patrons each year, with musicals, concerts, shopping, food, and other special events. Tuacahn is Utah’s largest professional non-profit theatre and acts as an economic engine generating an annual impact of more than $110 million. WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST CHARIS LEOS* (Martha Watson) is thrilled to be making her Tuacahn debut! She most recently appeared as Annie Wilkes in Misery at the Fulton Theatre, and as Alice Beane in Titanic and Roz in 9 to 5 at Maine State Music Theatre. A long-standing member of AEA, she has performed all over the country. In addition to the Fulton and MSMT, she’s appeared at Pioneer Theatre, Portland Stage, Walnut Street, New London Barn, Riverside, PCLO, TUTS, Dallas Theatre Center, Gateway Playhouse, Second Stage, Moving Target, Mountain Playhouse, Maltz Jupiter, Northern Stage, The Plaza, North Shore, Casa Manana, Stage West, The Palace, Worcester Foothills, and Stage West, among others. HARPER GRIFFITH (Susan Waverly) is thrilled to be back for her 4th Season and 9th Tuacahn show. You may remember her from last summer in Wonderland as Young Alice/Chloe or recently as a candy kid in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Harper has been fortunate to have been cast in a few commercials, as well as the show Yellowstone and the movie Horizon. She is a sixth grader at George Washington Academy that loves gymnastics, aerial silks, and making slime. Tuacahn is a special place for kids to learn this craft as a professional and Harper feels extremely lucky to call it home for another winter. Harper would like to thank Shari, Scott, Kevin, Mara, Rachel, Ben, Zoe, and Whitney for making this show possible. WHO’S WHO BEHIND THE SCENES SCOTT ANDERSON (Producing Artistic Director) joined Tuacahn in 2004 and enjoys creatively shaping and artistically leading this dynamic arts institution. He has worked for more than forty years in theatre, film, radio and television. He has been involved in over 100 productions as an actor, director or producer but considers his eighteen years at Tuacahn to be one of his most satisfying challenges. Scott’s more recent directing credits include: The Count of Monte Cristo, The Prince of Egypt, Shrek the Musical, Disney’s When You Wish, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins, Aladdin, Tarzan, Annie, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Les Misérables and Peter Pan. Both Aladdin and The Prince of Egypt were produced at Tuacahn preBroadway and pre-West End. Disney’s When You Wish had its world premiere here at Tuacahn in 2015. He also wrote and directed the acclaimed motion picture The Best Two Years and more recently The Jerk Theory. He continues to work as a writer and director and is always working on new film projects. Scott attended Dixie State University and the University of Utah, where he studied Theater and Film. He is the proud father of three children and twelve grandchildren. Scott hopes to shepherd more outstanding entertainment to this unique venue in the years to come. MARA NEWBERY GREER (Director/ Choreographer) is thrilled to bring her favorite Christmas movie to life on the Tuacahn stage! In 2012 she received the TDF/lrene Sharaff LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD for her body of costume work. WHO’S WHO BEHIND THE SCENES SHARI JORDAN (Assoc. Artistic Producer/ Casting Coordinator) from Raleigh, NC, began her professional career as an actor in the National Tour of Crazy for You (Tess). She performed at Tuacahn for nine seasons and was the Dance captain for 17 shows. Tuacahn audiences may remember Shari as Rosie in Mama Mia!, the Mother in the World Premier of Disney’s When You Wish, Mama Bear in Shrek, and Madame in The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Shari performed the role of Ulla and every other female role in Mel Brooks’ The Producers on the Broadway National Tour as well as the Las Vegas production with Tony Danza and David Hasselhoff. Shari was an assistant choreographer to five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman for the historic Hollywood Bowl’s production of The Producers and performed the role of Shirley Markowitz. She is also in the film of The Producers. Shari was a Radio City Rockette for six seasons and a national champion baton twirler. Director/ Choreographer/Assistant credits include The Stage Door, Hollywood Bowl, University of Michigan, Pittsburgh CLO, North Shore Music Theatre, North Carolina Theatre and TNT’s Emmy winning AFI’s Tribute to Mel Brooks in which Shari had a featured role. She is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of N.C. State University. Shari produced her first season in 2019 and loves bringing professional theatre to Southern Utah. Her passion stems from the desire to put artists to work and bring joy to others that can only be found working on or watching a live performance. Theatre is a noble profession. Love to Mom, Dad and my boys, AJ, Jordan and Hudson. ZOE BAIRD (Company Manager) from London, England is thrilled to be at Tuacahn for her eighth season. Graduating with a degree in Drama and Theater Studies from Royal Holloway, University of London she has followed her theatrical nose out to St George, UT! Zoe has worked for the Ambassador Theater Group in the West End, alongside being an Event’s Manager across London. Some of her favorite credits to date are: Fat Pig, The Brit Awards, The London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony, The What’s On Stage Awards, Tuacahn: Newsies, Matilda, The Prince of Egypt, The Count of Monte Cristo, School of Rock, Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat, and ELF. JONATHAN KATZIAS (Production Manager) As an East Coast native, Jonathan is thrilled to have traveled this far to finally see the west, partner with Tuacahn, and make theater magic! Previously working with ShowMotion Inc. one of the largest technical solution providers in live entertainment Jonathan has worked on over 50 NY Broadway shows; most notably: The Music Man, Company, Beetlejuice, Flying Over Sunset, Tootsie, Mean Girls, West Side Story, Pretty Woman, To Kill a Mockingbird, Carousel, Angels in America, and Tina Turner the Musical. “I thank God for the opportunity to wake up every day and do what I love. I am forever grateful to my wife Irene for her continual support in my artistic endeavors.” JEFF MILLER (Director of Audio, Video, and Lighting) has been working in professional theater for over 30 years. Prior to Tuacahn he was in Las Vegas where he spent several years with Cirque Du Soleil’ s The Beatles LOVE show at the Mirage. Jeff has also worked for many regional theaters around the country, including 18 years with The Seattle Children’s Theater. Besides helping create incredible shows at Tuacahn, Jeff enjoys exploring the desert and mountains with his wife and 2 kids. BRENDAN BAKER (Technical Director – Props, Scenery, SFX) is excited to take on the role of Technical Director, following a successful year as an Assistant Technical Director in the theatre industry. Brendan has already established himself as a valuable member of the theatre community, known for his exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. Brendan is skilled in bringing the designers’ vision to life, managing budgets, collaborating with designers and directors, and leading teams of technicians to deliver their best work. His passion for theatre inspires him to create unforgettable experiences for audiences and transport them to new worlds through the magic of live performance. With his dedication, enthusiasm, and growing expertise, Brendan is poised to make significant contributions to the theatre industry for years to come.

WHO’S WHO BEHIND THE SCENES IRVING BERLIN (Music and Lyrics). Born Israel Beilin in a Russian Jewish shtetl in 1888, he died as Irving Berlin in his adopted hometown of New York City in 1989. Songwriter, performer, theatre owner, music publisher and soldier, he wrote scores to more than a dozen Broadway musicals (including Annie Get Your Gun) and dozens of Hollywood movie musicals. His more than 1,200 songs include White Christmas, Puttin’ on the Ritz, Easter Parade, Always, Blue Skies, Cheek to Cheek, There’s No Business Like Show Business, Alexander’s Ragtime Band and God Bless America. Irving Berlin’s love and generosity to his country is legendary, and through several ongoing foundations, including the God Bless America Fund, he donated mil­lions of dollars in royalties to Army emergency relief and the Boy and Girl Scouts. Numerous awards and accolades include an Academy Award for White Christmas, a Congressional Gold Medal, a special Tony Award and commemoration on a U.S. postage stamp.

Lies (adapted from Moliere’s The Misanthrope and a major hit at New York’s Classic Stage Company last spring); The Heir Apparent (an adaptation of J-F Regnard’s comedy that was an audience and critical hit at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, D.C. this past fall); New Jerusalem: The Interrogation of Baruch de Spinoza, which won the prestigious HullWarriner Award; Is He Dead? (adapted from Mark Twain); White Christmas; Polish Joke; and Ancient History. He has translated Feydeau’s classic farce A Flea in Her Ear, Yazmina Reza’s drama A Spanish Play, and Pierre Corneille’s 1643 comedy The Liar (also an enormous hit at the Shakespeare Theatre Company two years ago). David Ives is the author of three young-adult novels: Monsieur Eek, Scrib, and Voss, and he has adapted 32 American musicals for New York City’s beloved Encores! series. A graduate of the Yale School of Drama and a former Guggenheim Fellow in playwriting, he lives in New York City.

DAVID IVES (Book) is probably best known for his evenings of one-act comedies called All in the Timing and Time Flies. All in the Timing won the Outer Critics Circle Playwriting Award, ran for two years Off-Broadway, and in the 1995-96 season was the most performed play in the country after Shakespeare productions. PAUL BLAKE (Book) produced the Broadway, London and touring productions of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. After 22 seasons as the Executive Producer of the legendary St. Louis MUNY, where he produced and/or directed more than 150 shows, Mr. Blake is currently enjoying his Emeritus status.
