SYN OPSI S [short] In the new life of Piedad nobody knows what is true or memory and what is product of her illness.
[long] Piedad has lived big part her life in Leiroso, a small village of the Bierzo, isolated of the urban world in company of her husband. Both decided to remain in the village, still when their children and neighbours were abandoning the place. At the age of 76, appears the Alzheimer in the life of Piedad, her husband died does some time, converting like this in the only inhabitant of the place but still like this, the option to go of there was not something that had in mind. The advance of the illness motivates that Amadeo, her younger son, take the decision to carry to his mother to live with him and his family to the city of A Coru単a.
This will cause a radical change in the life of Piedad, in her day by day, in her familiar surroundings and in the memories that she has of her previous life. In the new life of Piedad nobody knows what is truth, what is memory or what is product of her illness.

Piedad Ferreiro's Biography is similar to the one of other a lot of people of her generation, taking the witness of her ancestors of a form of life that believed eternal -in some rural surroundings and with narrow bonds with the natureand constitutes, in some form an immaterial inheritance to conserve, that in the last decades has tended to disappear in favour of the urban settlements and the own abandonment of the rural spaces. To go deep into this documentary involves to sail on a raft that goes us carrying -the own illness of the protagonist- and in whose metaphorical route can contemplate the landscape that Piedad has to cover from Leiroso, a small aldea of the mountains of the Bierzo, until the city of A Coru単a where she will be forced to live inexorably the last years of her life.
The treatment of the history have pretended to be the most respectful and rigorous as possible with the documented, treating to normalise the relation of a dependent with his social and affective surroundings, without artifices, but neither masking that to became evident in front of us, procuring give visibility to a situation of dependency each more present in the interior of home -in any one of his formsand that socially does not accustom to detect neither recognise. The documentary has pretended during two years, be witness of the life of Piedad and her family accompanying them in this ephemeral territory where the memories went diluting little by little.

Otto Roca (A Coru帽a, 1 976) Technician in Laboratory of Image, extensive part of his training purchases it of self-taught form. It develops his professional work like photojournalis and documentary photographer.
Piedad supposes his first incursion inside the documentary
cinema, fruit of the experimentation and natural evolution inside his work.
