NEUROLOGICAL SURGERY | AURORA HEALTH CARE Dr. Richard A. Rovin was the first neurosurgeon in the United States to remove a deep-seated brain tumor using the newly developed, minimally invasive method called BrainPath. “I use the latest technological advances to improve patients’ experience in the operating room and clinic,” Rovin says. Rovin, has been in practice for over 30 years. He joined the staff of Aurora St Luke’s in 2015, specializing in brain tumor surgery. He has served as Director of Clinical Research for Neuroscience, Chief of Neurosurgery, and System Director for Neuro Oncology in Wisconsin. Outside of his surgical work, he leads a translational science lab that is attempting to develop a virus that could be used to treat brain tumors, and he is currently conducting research to better understand and address how social disparities impact health and access to health care.
