Jessica FORSTON
CO-FOUNDER AND OWNER, FRINGE INTERIOR DESIGN & HOME FURNISHINGS WITH A PASSION that began early on, Jessica Forston has always been inspired by the design process and the satisfaction it gives clients. Today, she proudly owns and operates Fringe Interior Design & Home Furnishings, a woman-owned small business in Whitefish Bay. We asked her to share her expertise here. Why buy furniture in store versus online? The main differences between shopping online and shopping in store are service and support. When you buy furniture online, you’re not aware of the quality, scale or performance ... and you’ll definitely be putting it together yourself, along with the hassle of what to do if it arrives damaged. The support you receive is limited and based on a transaction, not your project or concern. Shopping in store not only allows you to support local small business, but it lets you experience the character and comfort of a piece before you commit to buying it. At Fringe, we’re here to personally answer your questions and inform you on all your options so you can make the choice that’s right for your project and your family. What’s the benefit of working with a design firm instead of doing it yourself? Here’s the thing about interior design; so many people have made very costly mistakes trying to do it themselves, going from store to store or website to website. Endless options can be overwhelming and cause a lot of wasted time. A design firm has education and experience. We do the research so you don’t have to and have the knowledge to ensure everything will fit and function properly in your space. And with resources and pricing not often available to the public, we’re able to find those unique pieces that show your personality and take your design to the next level.
