Bold With Gold
GMH CONSTRUCTION HELPED MAKE THIS CLIENT’S DREAMS OF REST AND RELAXATION COME TRUE.
WHEN CURATING THIS PRIMARY BATHROOM, the design team of GMH Construction, a Pewaukee-based full-service home remodeling company, kept functionality, storage and beauty in mind. The homeowner came to GMH, via a previous client’s referral, with hopes of achieving a luxurious spa-like retreat in her own home, inspired by her travels to Europe. GMH enabled her vision to come to life.
“The client had a lot of inspiration but looked to us to pull it all together,” says Robin Braun, lead designer at GMH Construction. “It was a small space, storage was minimal, and while we weren’t changing the layout, we were able to find creative solutions to meet their needs.”
The area for the tub was small, but they were able to source a deep soaking tub to allow for the spa-like experience the client was longing for. They included clever touches like a shave ledge and built-in niches on each side of the half wall between the shower and bath, making access to essentials a breeze.
Braun, alongside associate designer Audrey McGlinn, designed a bright and unique place to wind down at the end of the day, complete with ample storage, bold patterns and thoughtful finishes.
The design was tied together with an eye-catching pallette. “We have a lot of clients who choose more neutrals,” says McGlinn. “We loved that she was willing to mix and match the finishes of the fixtures and hardware to tie in gold, matte black and deep blue.” ◆
