CREATIVE

TEAM

Jeff Herbst

Jeff has been artistic director for Northern Sky Theater since 1993. At Milwaukee Rep, he appeared in Shine on

Harvest Moon and A Woman in Mind. He went on to direct Goodnight Irene: The Music of the Weavers in 1997, which was followed by the original production of Guys on Ice, Old Friends: The Music of Paul Simon, The One that Got Away, and Lumberjacks in Love. His work at Northern Sky has resulted in over eighty world premiere productions. He and Fred Alley were honored in 2017 with the Distinguished Alumni Award from their alma mater Mount Horeb High School for their work in creating original musical theater.

James Kaplan Music Director/Keyboard

James is thrilled to return to Milwaukee Rep, where he has appeared in Lumberjacks in Love, The Bachelors and The One That Got Away, along with several iterations of Guys on Ice. Besides these collaborations with the late Fred Alley, James also endeavored with Jacinda Duffin and Laurie Flanigan-Hegge to create Loose Lips Sink Ships, which premiered at Northern Sky Theater in Door County, and played at Marquette University. His music has been heard in See Jane Vote, Belgians in Heaven, Bone Dance, Northern Lights, Fool Me Once, Packer Fans from Outer Space, and Hell’s Belgians. He also conceived and created musical arrangements for two other Stackner Cabaret shows, Old Friends: The Music of Paul Simon, and Goodnight Irene: The Music of the Weavers.

Pam has directed and/or choreographed for Northern Sky Theater since the year 2000 and has worked closely with Jeff Herbst much of that time. A favorite moment was when Milwaukee Rep was producing Lumberjacks in Love and wanted it to be two acts. That required more music and more staging. Jeff called and asked me to help with the new material and I am proud to have added my two cents to his already wonderful choreography. Enjoy!

For over three decades Lisa has devoted time and passion to advancing skills in prop making, scenic design, and production management.
