WILL School of Antipolo (WSAI) outshined eight other Antipolo private schools and emerged as the champion during the City of Antipolo Private Schools Association (CAPSAA) Sabayang Pagbigkas at Balagtasan Competition held at the Assumpta Theater, Assumption Antipolo, September 7. The said success was made possible by 20 selected high school students and their coach, Ms. Ma. Liezl Leyva, who represented the school in the said competition. Together, they worked and eyed for an award, which they got in the end. However, they all had to go through difficulties before they could achieve their performance that outshined the others. “Hindi rin madali. Kahit boses at emosyon lang ‘yun, nakakapagod din pala. Ang haba ng kakabisaduhin. Nakakapaos.” said one of the team members when asked about the entire experience. “Pinagtawanan nga kami doon. Mukha raw kaming mga bubuyog at mga dancer dahil sa costume naming. Kung alam lang nila na tatlong araw naming pinaghirapan ‘yun.” The team also faced other difficulties as the lack of time for practice and preparation. Students even had to be excused from some of their classes to train. Class suspensions also got in the way. Yet, despite all of these challenges, they were able to bag the championship, a proof that WSAIans could work and excel even under pressure.
To further strengthen partnership between parents and the school, WILL School of Antipolo held the Parents-Teachers-Administrators Partnership Meeting last June 29. The event, hosted by Ms. Maria Venus, started with a community singing of all parents and new teachers led by Mrs. Concepcion Jose. After the opening ceremony, the parents were ushered to the Kindergarten classroom for Mrs. Belinda Torres’s presentation of the school’s new projects, key result areas, and performance indicators. A portfolio was distributed to each parent during this particular gathering. The portfolio contains information that will keep the parents on track of their business transactions that concerns the fees they disburse and more importantly, it contains the academic and non-academic matters that concern the educational development of their children. After the presentation, the parents dispersed to their children’s respective homeroom classrooms wherein they are further informed of the new school projects and systems that will assure the parents of quality services. The parents were also given the chance to raise their concerns and suggestions. The meeting was ended by Ms. Argie Agustin with a closing remark. WILL School of Antipolo felt honored that the parents have chosen the school to be their partner in giving their children quality education.
