01 School as Factory School of School Studio, GSAPP Critic: Mimi Hoang, Eric Bunge, N ARCHITECTS Site: Manhattan, New York Area: 4500 sqm Date: 2014.6-7 Collaborater: Shixiao Zhang
Rethinking New Prototype of Architecture School The development of workshop machines, such as CNC router, 3d printing machine and robot arm, provoke architecture students to combine their theory with practical experiment. In this project, we try to introduce the operation system and spatial prototype that we can learn from the factory into our school design, to create new type of architecture school. With introducing RnD system, we imagine this building can actively respond to the 21st century requirements of architecture school.

Between Traditional and Modern
Site: Kaifeng, Henan, China Area:8285 sqm Date: 2013.5, Tsinghua Individual Work
The prototype of Chinese traditional theater is a courtyard, whose layout enables audience to enjoy the drama as well as the nature. While modern theater with its accoustic issue, cannot provide publicity as traditional one. I abstract prototype of each theater, arrange the traditional form above the ground, while the modern one underground, creating interesting dialogue between these two in spatial and structural way.

Transformable Architecture
Critic: Lise Anne Couture, Asymptote Architecture Site: Red Hook, Brooklyn, New York Area: 8400 sqm Date: 2014.8-12 Individual Work
As a building between temporary and permanent, the architecture is proposed to change according to different programs in different seasons. Through simple movement of architectural element, I try to achieve radical change in hierarchy of space, including proportion of outdoor, semi-outdoor and indoor space. The red parts are moving panels.

Transparency of Chinese Painting
Critic: Rongrui HU(Hotel), Boying LIU(Theater) Team: Min Cui (Theatre), Ruoyun Xu (Hotel) Site: Beijing, China Area: 63582 sqm Date: 2012.2-5, Tsinghua
Traditional Chinese painting creates transparency of space with its elements in different elevation, layer and depth. We try to apply this aesthetic rule to the 3 dimensional layout of function block, so that when people are walking around the mega block, they can feel the poetic atmosphere of Chinese ancient painting.

05 Time Healer Healing the Urban Scar
Critic: Yan Tang Topic: Regeneration of Busan Historical District Date: 2013.8 Collaborator: Bo Zhang
High rising apartments demolished original urban texture and invaded into the site, creating a boundary between two housing area. We create a linear function block that embraces the lower density housing zone. We called the block Time Healer, which is healing the city scar that resulted from the different time of construction and unreasonable urban design.

Learning from Lorenz Curve
In 1963, Edward Lorenz developed a simplified mathematical model for atmospheric convection. We tried to use the function of lorenz curve to simulate the topography of site as well as the circulation of industrial museum.

GSAPP Spring Studio, Columbia Critic: Antti Nousjoki, ALA Architects Site: Cerro de Pasco, Peru Date: 2015-Present Individual Work
Pit excavation breaks the city into pieces. I envisaged a bridge between old town and new town, connecting the two towns as well as limiting the expansion of pit. The Venue will help to introduce tourism into mining town.

09 Internship Work CPG Corporation Pte Ltd, Singapore July 2012 - May 2012(3 months), full time
in+of architecture studio, Beijing, China September, 2012 - May, 2014(1 year 9 months), part time
During the internship in CPG, I mainly participated in development design of GEMS Academy Dubai phase 3, also was involved in some commercial buildings' schematic design.
When I started to work in in+of architecture, I combined the research with practice, with the help of the principal architect Lu Wang. My research focused on prototypes of vernacular building in rural areas of China.
