Arche MATI City – Gold mining in Davao Oriental will resume operation after the provincial government allowed miners to return to their activities in Sitio Bangol, Barangay Tubaon in Tarragona town. In a recent meeting here, Oro East Mining Company (OEMC) representative Jose Nelson Sala told the miners that Governor Corazon Malanyaon granted them the opportunity to continue with their operation, as long as they will follow the rules and regulations issued by the government. BUTUAN CITY – Three people were killed and another was injured when their Hyundai SUV collided with a school bus in Barangay Cumawas, Bislig City shortly after midnight on Wednesday. Authorities identified the fatalities as businessman and owner of the Hyundai SUV, Rumualdo Fernandez Lim, 60, Jane Maglasang, 23, and Raquel Quirido Llubit, 18. Injured was Benjamin Aguilar Peralta, 29. police investigation showed that Lim, who drove the SUV himself, with passengers Maglasang, Llubit and Peralta, were bound for

Maglasang died “on the spot” while Lim and Llubit succumbed to multiple injuries while undergoing treatment at Andres Soriano Memorial Hospital, police said. Peralta also suffered injuries but survived, police said. He is now recuperating at the same hospital, police added. Meanwhile, investigators are still looking closely into the incident as the two vehicles are impounded at the Bislig City police station.
