Department of Environment and Natural Resources, said a geohazard map prepared by the agency in 2009 had identified the whole province of Misamis Oriental, including Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, as “flood-prone” and officials there had been urged to take preventive measures. He said they had “sent the local government units copies of the geohazard maps covering these areas, in fact, the entire province of Misamis Oriental, including Iligan City and Cagayan de DANGER/p.2
