Cowd suspends water rate increase THE Cagayan de Oro Water District (Cowd) yesterday suspended the implementation of the 30-percent water rate adjustments following a court order. Engr. Rachel M. junction stemmed from the complaint filed by the city government of Cagayan de Oro against Cowd. Beja said the Cowd, a government-owned and controlled corporation, has been operating based on its own income––and does not enjoy any subsidy from the government. With the issuance of an injunction, the Cowd is prohibited from implementing further the water rate adjustments that it has implemented in June 2011.

MALAYBALAY City, Bukidnon––This year’s Kaamulan tribal festival reels off here, February 24, in a splendor of cultural rituals, songs, dances and many more colorful presentations seen only in this part of the country. A traditional opening ritual at the Kaamulan grounds, ribbon cutting for shows and fairs, the “Pangampo” (opening ritual) of the seven tribes, motorcade of sponsors, parades of school bands and mountain bikes are among the attractions for the grand opening.
