MILF lashes at Misuari COTABATO City––The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Tuesday lambasted the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) for declaring that thousands of MILF guerillas have left and joined the MNLF. Khaled Musa, MILF information deputy, said Nur Misuari, chair of a faction of the MNLF, was creating division among Bangsamoro people. Misuari served as regional governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao from 1996 to 2001. He led a bloody revolt in Sulu shortly before the 2001 regional polls and fled to Malaysia and eventually arrested there. ZAMBOANGA City––Everything is set for the commemoration of the 6th Dia de Roseller Lim, the first and only Zamboangueño senator on Thursday, February 9. Senator Lim is most remembered for delivering a speech for 18 ½ hours that made him known as “The Great Filibuster”. He became Senator for two years (from 1955-1957) and was re-elected for another sixyear term (from 1957-1963). He was the first and only Zamboangueño to be elected to the Senate. He was cited as Outstanding Senator of the Philippines.
