More doctors sent in Oro as lepto worsen

THE Department of Health (DOH) has sent additional doctors from Metro Manila to Northern Mindanao Medical Center in Cagayan de Oro following reports of increasing numbers of people afflicted with leptospirosis.

“Right now Health Sec-

retary Enrique T. Ona sends doctors from Metro Manila to augment personnel in attending leptospirosis patients,” said DOH Assistant Secretary Eric Tayag.

Tayag, also DOH spokesperson, said there was a need to put up tents considering the increasing number of

leptospirosis patients in the hospital.

He said of the 85 leptospirosis cases everyday, about 50 were admitted while the rest were discharged for home treatment, he said, hence estimating to reach 900 cases leptospirosis in Cagayan de Oro alone.

NGCP provides financial aid to Sendong-hit C. de Oro, Iligan TO further in ongoing humanitarian relief efforts, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) is extending financial assistance to areas recently devastated by Typhoon Sendong.

The 4th most calamityprone country, according to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent

Societies, saw the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan hit with flash floods, wiping out entire communities and destroying billions of pesos in infrastructure and agricultural lands.

As of 3 January 2012, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) estimated the total damages

to cost P1,384,592,708.00.

The casualties have reached more than a thousand, with 80,647 families (429,045 people) displaced and living in evacuation centers.

In an effort to rebuild affected areas, NGCP executives, headed by President and CEO Mr. Henry T. Sy Jr., met with Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, Cagayan

de Oro City Mayor Vicente Emano and Iligan City Mayor Lawrence Lluch Cruz on Thursday, 05 January 2012 to hand over Php 1,000,000.00 each to the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.

NGCP employees based at its Head Office in Quezon City previously donated 45 boxes of relief goods (as of

December 22, 2012) and voluntary cash contributions amounting to Php 178,980.00. The management also allowed the use of its hangar space in Cagayan de Oro for forensic examination on the deceased and commissioned the use of a water pump and generator set to provide clean water and electricity to the public.

NGCP is a privately owned cor p oration in charge of operating and maintaining the country’s electric power grid. NDF claims militia patrol base attack, admits failure

BUTUAN City––The National Democratic Front has claimed responsibility for the Tuesday assault on the Army’s 23rd Infantry Battalion patrol base in Barangay San Antonio, Remedios T. Romualdez, Agusan del Norte even admitting failure by the attacking New People’s Army rebels to control the detachment.

Fifty NPA rebels belonging to Front Committee 21C led by alias Basli and alias Myka attacked the detachment under Sgt. Sixto Duyan at around 4:30 am. Militiaman Christopher Rara was killed while Corporal Murphy Haider was wounded in the ensuing firefight. Also wounded were civilians Jan Mariene Cablay, 3, Reymark Cablay, 18, and Jessabel Cablay, 14, who were caught in the crossfire.

Police said reinforcements from the Army’s 3rd Special Forces Battalion arrived one kilometer from the patrol base and clashed with the withdrawing rebels.

The bloody encounter lasted until 9:30 am of the same day, police added.

Police said several rebels were killed one of whom was abandoned and recovered by government forces.

The others were carried by their retreating comrades, police said.

In a press statement, NDF-North Eastern Mindanao Region spokesperson Maria Malaya identified the rebel fatality as Kasamang Red of the BHB Fron 21 under the Pulang Diwata Command. She admitted the failure of the raiders to take control of the militia base as a first step in destroying

OWWA assists Sendong survivors

AFTER “Bagyong Sendong” hit Northern Mindanao, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) conducted relief operations for the affected Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.

The affected barangays in Cagayan de Oro were identified through data collated from the Office of Civil Defense and Department of Social Welfare and Development.

Actual site visits and consultation with OFW families were also conducted by OWWA, Region 10.

Due to the damage to Cagayan de Oro City’s water system, safe drinking water and ready-to-eat food emerged as the most needed commodities.

Sendong survivors get a fresh start – with Del Monte’s help

UGO, Cagayan de Oro, Jan. 5 – As a city comes to terms with its loss, an agro-industrial pioneer in this city help survivors get a fresh start.

Several days after Typhoon Sendong unleashed its fury on a city sound-asleep, food manufacturer and exporter Del Monte Philippines sent one of its backhoe/loaders to help clear debris on affected residential areas.

College student John Sumintang, 20, who grew up along Carmen’s riverdike, said he’s glad Del Monte is clearing away debris where houses of friends once stood in sitio Acacia. John said: “This backhoe does not only clear away dirt; it sweeps away grim reminders of death and destruction – so we can move on.”

Since then, the clean-up team has grown to three backhoes and two dump trucks for hauling debris to landfill sites and two water trucks for washdown of cleared areas. As the team hauled away fallen trees and torn houses that litter muddy streets, communities slowly get back on their feet. Students are back in school; business is slowly perking up.

Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Atty. Alvin Calingin earlier requested Del Monte for assistance to shore up rehabilitation work in key areas.

the assistance of other generous benefactors who have willingly loaned a payloader and two dumptrucks to complement the clean-up effort. Even with three backhoes and two dumptrucks working full-time, the task is simply too big for one group to do. The task calls for an entire community to come together and share in whatever way it can.

The idea of a bigger cleanup drive was sparked by a simple bayanihan spirit initiated by volunteers from Del Monte’s residential areas or camps.

Mostly members of Plantation’s “eco-brigades” who undertake tree-planting and cave cleanups in Bukidnon, they came down in jeepney loads to the city to help several dozens of cannery employees clean their homes so these can be ready for reoccupancy by New Year’s Eve. Bringing their own showels, pails, brooms and brushes, these eco-volunteers took turns to scrub clean muddy floors and walls and dig away dirt.

Their presence brought the sunshine back into the life of grieving families and a desolate landscape. A doctor who lives near a cannery worker’s family, and was herself a beneficiary of the cleanup, said she’s happy that Del Monte has fanned out is efforts to clean up homes of neighbors of its employees. Relief operations continue as some 20,000 liters of water are delivered every day to various points in the city. During the early days of the calamity, Del Monte Foundation provided up to 5,000 free cooked meals as volunteers make a daily round of the city’s evacuation centers.

Butuan eyes two hydropower plants

THROUGH the effort Butuan City government and the local business group on its public-private partnership, a Japanese firm and three local business establishments signed memorandum of understanding to construct a run to river mini hydropower plants in the city.

Business analysts said the multi million pesos worth project will be a big boost to the national government’s Mindanao power generation program for 2012 and in the future.

The signing of the MoU last December 2011 was witnessed by the local government officials led by Mayor Ferdinand M. Amante, and Vice Mayor Lawrence Fortun, General Manager for business and planning of CHODAI, Co., Ltd. Yudi Munehiro, Manager Satoshi Kato and Motohide Tekano Vice President of the Twinpeak Hydro Resources Corporation (THRC), Hydro Resouces Management and Cosultancy, Inc. president

Hendrick R. Manegdeg together with other local business head.

The signatories of the memorandum of understanding are Ronnie Vicente Lagnada head of the Equi Parco Construction Company (EPC), Director Akinori Ido P.E. Jp. Of CHODAI, Co. Ltd. A “Kabushiki Kaisha” group in Chuoku, Tokyo, Japan.

On the MoU, the EPC, CHODAI and The THRC agreed to establish a two run-to-river mini hydropower plants in Taguibo that will produce 2.4 mega watts and 2.6 mega watts and another 8 mega watts

in Asiga rivers of Butuan.

Also under the MoU, they also agreed to for the grant of an exclusive right to explore, develop, operate, manage, and utilize hydro power resources in those rivers.

Lagnada of Equi Parco said that the hydro power plant projects are a big help for the Butuanons’ and a plus factor for its growing industries, and also a great support to the national government’s power generation for Mindanao.

The Japanese partners are looking forward for the realization of the said projects Akinori Ido also said, (assisted by his interpreter) Last month the EPC and CHODAI companies entered into a non disclosure agreement (NDA) for the realization of the project.

The public-private partnership (PPP) projects with the Japanese group was strengthened after city officials led by Mayor Amante offered more than (10,000) ten thousand hectares of investment possibilities for BUTUAN/p.8

Coast Collapse of dams Guard worsened Oro floods cites 5 vessels

FIVE inter-island vessels have been cited by the Philippine Coast Guard in Northern Mindanao (PCGNM) for a ‘job well done’ immediately after Typhoon Sendong hit the region.

Commodore Elson Hermogino, district commander of PCGNM, named the five as the MV Solid Gold, MV Snoopy, MV Super Shuttle Ferry 3, MV Maria Stella 1 and MV Tagoloan.

“These vessels immediately responded when the PCGNM directed all shipping lines and vessels transiting along Macajalar Bay to conduct surface search and SAR in the area,” Commodore Hermogina stated.

They have rescued a total of 121 survivors and four dead bodies in the morning of Dec. 17, he added.

Meanwhile, Mayor Rosalinda Penera of Sta. Monica, Surigao Norte has reported that a fisherman from her municipality, name Eliseo Sanchez, has been reported missing since December 28 last year.

She appealed to residents along the coastal municipalities of Caraga Region to coordinate with her office or the nearest authorities whenever they find the said missing fisherman. (with report from PIA Regions 10 and 13 Cluster)

THE flashflood that killed and harmed hundreds of people in the northern Mindanao and southern Visayas areas was aggravated by the reported collapse of dams along the Cagayan de Oro River, according to the Department of Science and Technology Secretary Mario G. Montejo. Montejo was with the presidential party devastated by flashfloods wrought by tropical storm Sendong.

“It is most likely that the flashflood in Cagayan de Oro was caused not only simply by the high volume of rain that fell in the watershed of rivers in said places but essentially of the reported collapse of dams at the upper parts of the rivers,” Montejo announced.

Reports from the field that reached the presidential party regarding the collapse of the dams are being investigated, per instructions of President Benigno Aquino III. “Pagasa had been doing its job conscientiously,” Montejo assured. “In fact, places such as Bohol, Surigao, and Camiguin that heeded Pagasa’s warning and took appropriate actions had mitigated the effects of Sendong.”

To further improve its weather forecasting and hazard mitigating capability, Montejo said that Pagasa in 2012 will upgrade monitoring systems.

“We are set to install 1,000 water level sensors in selected major river basins in 2012,” Montejo revealed.

“Since the 1980s, only four rivers were installed with sensors to measure waterlevel rise. The President has given instructions and allotted resources to fasttrack our river monitoring system nationwide to aid in forecasting potential floods.”

“To enhance rainfall and weather forecasting, we will also improve the integration of data from Doppler radars, satellites, automated weather systems, and rain gauges through numerical model WRF,” he added.

DOST is also looking at enhancing its flood forecasting system to determine expected impact to local communities. This includes the use of several techniques such as the use of 3D maps.

On the reported dam collapse, Montejo said that the continuous rains may have caused the accumulation and build up of water upstream of the dam.

“At some point, the dams may have collapsed when the trapped water filled with debris overtopped the dam. This could have led to dam breakage and failure,” Montejo explained.

The Rehabilitation and Development Fund shall be used for the purposes indicated and shall be released to the relevant departments, bureaus, offices in accordance with budgeting and related relevant laws, rules and regulations.

Section 4. Separability Clause — Should any provision of this Act or any part thereof be declared invalid, the other provisions, so far as they are separable from the invalid ones, shall remain in full force and effect.

Section 5. Repealing Clause – All laws, presidential decrees and issuances, executive orders, rules and regulations or parts thereof inconsistent with the provisions of this Act are hereby repealed or modified accordingly.

Section 6. Effectivity – This Act shall take effect fifteen (15) days after its publication in two (2) newspapers of general circulation.

Imagine we are on a large ship out on the ocean.

The captain knows that there is a hole in the boat and we’re sinking, but he does not tell us passengers.

Instead, he invites us all to go up to first class.

All the beer and liquor is free.

We’re allowed to party and do basically anything we want on the ship.

Nat u r a l l y, w e p a s sengers are loving our freedom. But all the time we’re partying and getting drunk, the ship continues to sink.

Each minute brings us closer to our death.

So what?

Let’s eat, drink and be merry for we’re all going to die anyway, right? We

Jesus Christ did not

come to bring us a lot of strict, boring rules that take all the fun out of life.

He actually came to save us from hurting and destroying ourselves, so we can finally be free from our own greed and uncontrolled physical urges.

As the Maker of life, Jesus’ commands are simply life’s principles for real satisfaction and success.

His ways are like wings to a bird or sails to a ship.

So why not finally get yourself free from your uncontrolled physical pleasures or greed?

Just ask Jesus to forgive you and start changing you daily. Then you can begin to get the real satisfaction that lasts, not to mention be saved from sinking.

-oooCULTURE OF DISREGARDING AND VIOLATING THE LAWS: Quezon Rep. Erin Tanada may or may not be aware of it, but his refusal, and the refusal as well of the other members of the House prosecution panel in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona, to stop public discussions of the case even in the face of clear Senate rules prohibiting such public discussions is encouraging chaos and anarchy among our people more and more.

Why? Simply because Tanada and the prosecution panel are showing to all Filipinos that it is no longer necessary to obey rules and regulations and existing laws! Laws, by the conduct and behavior of Tanada and the panel, are

now portrayed to cover only the lowly and the underprivileged, not congressmen and others who are powerful or are close to the powersthat-be, who could now do anything they fancy.

I am afraid that Tanada and company are stretching a bit too far now the concept of “people power”, not only to justify their violations of Senate rules, but also to justify their public vilification of Corona in preparation for the January 16, 2012 trial of the impeachment case. I said it before, I say it again: we will all regret this culture of disregarding and violating the laws, for it will plunge this country into a destructive and deadly civil war.

-oooQUO VADIS, SENDONG VICTIMS? And so, the Philippine National Police is now carrying out the orders of President Aquino to prevent residents of Cagayan De Oro City from rebuilding their houses in places like Isla de Oro, Isla Delta, Isla Bugnao, Isla Cupa and in

Sitio Cala-Cala, Barangay Macasandig, which are considered high risk areas as they are flood-prone. PNP men have been demolishing shanties as soon as they are built there.

Congratulations, PNP, for obeying the President.

But then, will someone please tell us, is there anyone who has been ordered to find alternative sites where the hundreds of thousands of Sendong victims from Cagayan De Oro City who lost their houses can put up their residences to start life anew?

The reason why Cagayanons are risking everything once again and rebuilding their homes in the very places where they nearly drowned last December 2011 is that, they have no other place to go to.

Yes, it is dangerous for them to return to their former barangays, but the government is not giving them any alternative. All that the government has done is to prevent them from returning to their old

places, nothing else.

-oooBIBLICAL ADMONITION ABOUT CARING FOR OTHERS: This is clearly anti-Biblical. Indeed, the Bible is telling us that we cannot be telling our fellowmen, “God bless you, I wish you well”, while we do nothing to address their most urgent needs. That is entirely useless, we are told.

Here is what James 2:1419 says: “What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?

Can such faith save them?

Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food.

AND without a doubt because how else can you form opinions otherwise. If what you discuss with friends, associates and family are non-other than trivial matters not concerning your economy, your country, your health, etc. your points of views will remain within these parameters you have access to. Then again I can understand why entertainment is preferred over issues of social relevance when you have done the time with school, right? Unless you feel you are now a member of the “know-itall” club, then maybe you can rightfully say – only entertainment for me! To quote Forest Gump (the movie) it’s good to be an idiot while you watch the stupidity around you.

How are we listeners allowed to react when we listen to gay-speak who mock people and situations with their weird and incorrect talk styles only to degenerate their criticisms with extreme bias. Or obviously specific interests are at heart which is probably why many resort to extrajudicial measures in turning off their lights.

Big Mak loses to McDonald’s in trademark battle IMITATION is considered the highest form of flattery, but not so when it is committed against an enterprise who has first created goodwill and carved a niche in the market through advertising investments, product development, and other intensive operations.

An entity which has built a name over the years through hard work only to find out that another entity has copied its name or symbol stands to lose to this competitor who has taken undue advantage of the reputation associated with the trademark.

The trademark therefore becomes a property right, the exclusive use of which ought to be, and is, legally recognized in accordance with the basic tenets of

Consumer trust or patronage of a genuine good or service is born out of a fulfilled satisfaction from the product’s quality. If so satisfied, the consumer only has to look for the product’s distinguishing mark among the other competing articles

in the market.

An imitation confuses the public as to the origin of the goods or services and leads them to purchase the articles marked by the infringer under the impression that it is the real thing.

If the imitation somehow fails to live up to the consuming public’s expectation, there is reason to believe that the patronage of the product will drop, to the damage and prejudice of the entity which produced

the original.

If the spurious mark passes the courts’ scrutiny for infringement, the imitation may be further scrutinized to see if it falls under the broader category of unfair competition. Legally, therefore, imitation is not flattery, but a crime.

The law provides the requisites of trademark infringement as follows: (1) the validity of plaintiff ’s mark; (2) plaintiff ’s ownership of such valid mark; and (3) the use of the mark or its colorable imitation by the alleged infringer which results in likelihood of confusion.

The third requisite is the most critical. In arriving at the existence of such likelihood, courts are to apply either the dominancy test

or the holistic test, both of which are grafted from American jurisprudence.

However, the tests have proved to be conflicting, such that when applied to the same set of facts, each yields a result contrary to that of the other. This can be seen from the rulings in Converse Rubber, Del Monte, Asia Brewery, Emerald Garment, and Nestlé all of which will be examined in my next articles. The judicial challenge therefore is how to arrive at a choice between the two tests, that is, developing a test to determine which test to be used.

On August, 2004, the Supreme Court issued a verdict in McDonald’s Corporation v. L.C. Big Mak Burger, Inc. abandoning the holistic test in favor of

the dominancy test in determining the existence of confusing similarity, a factor of trademark infringement.

The irony lies in the High Court’s consideration of factors pertaining to the mark as a whole, including the similarity of the food products which carried the marks and the intention behind respondent incorporators’ use of the trademark Big Mak. The Supreme Court’s decision in McDonald’s should be read as one that indeed abandons the holistic test in favor of the dominancy test, pursuant to the intent of the framers of the Intellectual Property Code, although the Court’s application should be criticized for bordering into holistic. Vietnamese police Economic, social, and political phenomena arrest journalist who covered corruption THE Committee to Protect Journalists condemns Vietnamese journalist Nguyen Van Khuong’s detention on Monday in Ho Chi Minh City on charges related to “giving bribes.” Khuong can be held in detention for as long as four months while authorities investigate his case, according to official statements.

Khuong, a reporter with the Vietnamese-language Tuoi Tre (Youth) daily newspaper, covered corruption in Ho Chi Minh City’s Binh Thanh District’s traffic police department last year and published a series of articles under a pseudonym.

While working undercover, the journalist posed as a traffic violator and allegedly had an intermediary bribe a police officer to release an impounded vehicle, news reports said.

Under pressure from government authorities, Tuoi Tre suspended the journalist from his reporting duties on December 3, news reports said.

“We call upon authorities to immediately release Nguyen Van Khuong and allow him to resume his work as an investigative journalist,” said Bob Dietz, CPJ’s Asia program coordinator.

Dietz said: “Journalists who reveal corrupt government practices should be rewarded-not arrested. Khuong’s detention is another mark against Vietnam’s abysmal and worsening press freedom record.”

Khuong’s detention follows new legislation passed by Vietnamese lawmakers in November that requires news agencies to forward any complaints their journalists receive to the relevant state agency.

Many journalists believe the law is aimed at deterring investigative reporting and discouraging whistleblowers from working with the local press.

With 10 journalists, including Khuong, behind bars, Vietnam is the fifth worst jailer of journalists in the world, according to CPJ research.

VALENCIA City, Bukidnon––The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) belied reports that the latest flashflood that hit 12 villages here was caused by the ruptured dam in Barangay Lumbayao, Valencia City, Bukidnon.

In a statement, Engr. Felix M. Razo, regional manager of NIA-10, clarified that the Lumbayao dam did not collapse contrary to rumors that spread through text messages, which caused panic to downstream residents.

Razo said it is impossible for the dam to burst because it has no ‘impounding’ capacity, unlike the reservoir-type dam.

“It is different from the Magat dam in Isabela province, which impounds water up to more than 800 meters in height from the river bed, with a gatekeeper that controls release of water to main irrigation canals,” he said.

Engr. Jimmy Apostol, Manager, Bukidnon Irrigation Management Office, likewise, explained that the dam in Lumbayao, Valencia could not easily be damaged because it is a gravity run-of-the-river type with a height of only 2.80 meters from the riverbed. “It will automatically overflow once it reaches its elevation,” he said.

Meanwhile, NIA reports showed that six main irrigation structures and facilities estimated at over P52 million were in total wreck after heavy rains that resulted to the overflowing of Pulangui River (Bukidnon’s biggest river).

The damage includes the grouted riprap at the bridge’s abutment, two spur dikes along Pulangui River, the 60-meter irrigation canal that serves 950 hectares of rice fields in Nabag-o and San Isidro barangays, the embankment of the reuse dam in barangay Batangan, and the huge siphon that draws water off from the river for distribution to vast rice fields in several barangays here.

Bayug Island in Hinaplanon were swept away to the sea. Sugabo is now acting as a Coordinator of Purok 7, one of the 8 puroks in Bayug Island where she accounted 93 families with a total of 345 members, 13 dead and 73 missing as of December 29.

The relief operations in Northern Mindanao were held from December 2129, 2011 reaching out to a total of 1,478 OFW families. Of these, 177 said that their houses were either totally damaged or washed out, deaths occurred in 18 families while 9 others were still searching for missing love ones. OWWA spent P362,000.00 for the entire operations. Requests, however, are still coming in, mainly for school supplies of the children of affected OFWs. RWO-10 also received a report that Ferdinand Tamula Simbajon, an active OWWA member died when the floods hit his mother’s house in Orchids Subdivision, Santiago, Iligan City.

Petron, TNT share history, animosity WHEN Petron Blaze defeated Talk ‘N Text in Game Seven of the 2011 Governor’s Cup, Boosters coach Ato Agustin made no secret of how he felt about his vanquished rivals.

“They chose the wrong opponent,” said Agustin into a microphone as he made his post-game speech on the Araneta Coliseum floor.

Agustin was referring to the controversial final game of the semifinal round where the Tropang Texters sat out their starters in the second half, handing Petron Blaze an easy win and allowing them to leapfrog Ginebra and Alaska in the standings and enter the finals.

For the Boosters, it was a slap in the face to be chosen as the easier option instead of their crowd favorite sister team Ginebra.

“It’s obvious to see that they chose opponents,” Agustin expounded in the post-game interview. “That’s where they made a mistake because we match up well with them. We have good defensive players who are guards to match up with the small import.”

Privately, the Talk ‘N Text coaches believed the same thing. One assistant admitted that while they held no discussions on whom they preferred to play, the team knew that the big Petron backcourt would pose more challenges for the smaller Tropang Texters guards than Ginebra would.

Talk ‘N Text denies tanking that semifinal game, and attributes the poor effort to simply finding it difficult to

motivate players who knew the game was essentially no-bearing, as the team had already previously qualified for the PBA finals.

But that didn’t matter because many, including outraged Ginebra fans, held the perception that they did choose their opponent. And more importantly, the Petron Blaze Boosters believed it as well.

And that set the stage for a finals series that was nothing short of personal.

It was highly-physical, especially from the Boosters’ end, and both teams dug deep into their bag of tricks. The Texters guards, especially Jason Castro and import Scottie Reynolds, were roughed up every time they entered the paint. Ranidel De Ocampo, nursing a broken nose, was smashed by Mick Pennisi with a hard foul that opened up a cut on his head in Game Two. Later in the same game, Castro took

a hard spill that prompted teammate Mark Yee to charge into the Petron bench, even shoving a referee aside in the process.

In Game Seven, Jojo Duncil would be ejected for sticking his foot under Talk ‘N Text replacement import Mo Baker as Baker took a jump shot. In the same game, Danny Ildefonso, after getting the bum end of a no-call, complained to the refs then nonchalantly jogged back and leveled Kelly Williams with a body check.

In an earlier game, Petron import Anthony Grundy and Talk ‘N Text assistant Nash Racela got involved in a harsh exchange of words after Racela essentially set a screen for one of his players when Grundy and Ryan Reyes stumbled into the Texters’ bench. After allowing Reyes to pass by, Racela took a step that would directly impeded Grundy, who found the move less than amusing.

What was likely even less amusing for Grundy was Yee’s now-infamous maneuver where he dug deep into much more than just his bag of tricks. To discourage Grundy from setting up back-to-the-basket in the low post, Yee plugged his finger into his counterpart’s backside.

But none of that was uglier than when the Boosters coach challenged Talk ‘N Text coach Chot Reyes to a fistfight in the dugout. After an easy win for the Texters in Game 3 where his team went up 2-1, Agustin would put an arm around Reyes and appear to have a friendly conversation with his rival.

IN an interview with Push. com.ph, Vhong Navarro looked back on 2011 with much gratitude for all the good projects that came his way.

He starred in comedyhorror flick Bulong, continued hosting Showtime, and started the sitcom Toda Max before 2011 ended.

Ingredients: 6 medium size of Crab Squash Squash Flower / Bulaklak ng Kalabasa Yardlong Beans/Sitaw Spinach Coconut milk, 1 whole coconut Garlic Onions Chillis Fish Sauce

Cooking Procedure: • Saute’ garlic and onions, add fish sauce and coconut milk • Let it boil then add the crabs • Once the crab turned orange color, add the squash, squash flowers and the spinach • Let it cook for few minutes and turn off the fire and add the chillis.

• Please make sure that the vegetables are half cooked, overcooked veggies don’t taste well.

This recipe is very easy to do and serves 6 people. Eat it with steamed rice.
