It is forecast to move west northwest at 20 kph. The rest of the country will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds blowing from the Southwest will prevail over the whole arhipelago with moderate to rough seas.

Amante Jr. received tips of illegally-cut logs being transported through the Agusan River Sunday, June 3, 2012. The illegally-cut logs allegedly came from La Paz, Agusan del Sur and surprisingly passed through the DENR Regional monitoring checkpoint in the neighboring town of Las Nieves before they were confiscated at the Agusan River in Barangay San Mateo.

ZAMBOANGA Sibugay––Philippine gunmen holding two Chinese iron ore traders in Mindanao were demanding $5 million for the release of the foreigners. Police said the kidnappers are holding Jampong Lin-Yuankai, 38, and Jian Luo, 48. Both were seized from their rented apartment in the town of Kabasalan in Zamboanga Sibugay province on June 4 and police linked a notorious bandit leader Wanning Abdusallam to the kidnappings. Abdusallam was also

Barangay elections to be conducted in 2016 THE House and Senate leadership are considering the postponement of the October 2013 barangay elections to 2016, Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile said.
