DESPITE marching order from Cagayan de Oro Mayor Vicente Emano, two senior police officials and top official of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) in Northern Mindanao have refused to demolish an illegal structure that blocks the waterway of Tagpuangi Creek in Barangay Agusan. Emano directed Sr. Supt. Gerardo M. Rosales, the city police director, and his deputy, Supt. Antonio Montalba, to demolish the illegal structures on order of the National Water Resources Board (NWRB) issued on September 15, 2010. The two police officials were ordered to demolish two-storey semi-concrete structure and concrete fence with riprap allegedly owned
by Loreto Menchavez and Salvador Cuercuez, and concrete fence and cottages allegedly owned by Eduardo Quijano. CAGAYAN de Oro City–– Police authorities arrested the suspect allegedly behind the killing of a security guard and his eight-yearold son in Zone 1, Barangay Iponan at dawn yesterday. Police identified the suspect as Alejo Delgado. Delgado, the police said, allegedly killed Mario Mahayag, a warehouse security guard, and his son using blunt object.
