Jesus Miracle Crusade shines at 41
Senator and vice presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr is being prayed over by Minister Wilde James Almeda during the 41st Church Anniversary celebration of the influential Jesus Miracle Crusade International Ministry.
China 'puts surface-to-air missiles' on disputed island CHINA HAS deployed an advanced surface-to-air missile system to one of the disputed islands it controls in the South China Sea, officials in the US and Taiwan said. Taiwan defence ministry spokesman Major General David Lo told the Reuters news agency on Wednesday that the missile batteries had been set up on Woody Island, part of the Paracels chain, which is
under Chinese control but also claimed by Taiwan and Vietnam. "Interested parties should work together to maintain peace and stability in the South China Sea region and refrain from taking any unilateral measures that would increase tensions," Lo said. A US military official also confirmed the "apparent deployment" of the missiles, first reported by Fox
News. Images from civilian satellite company ImageSat International show two batteries of eight surface-to-air missile launchers as well as a radar system, according to Fox. News of the missile deployment came as Obama and leaders of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations wrapped up a summit in California, where they discussed the need to ease
tensions in the region but did not include specific mention of China's pursuit of its claims in the South China Sea. Al Jazeera's Marga Ortigas, reporting from the meeting in Rancho Mirage, said the move marked the first time China had taken such strong military measures in the disputed waters and the deployment would not go unnoticed by the US. "Alam ko po na kasama sa inyong pananampalataya ang pagmamahal sa lahat ng inyong kapwa. Ang pagmamahal at pagtulong kagaya po sa madaming ginagawang outreach po ng Jesus Miracle Crusade hindi lamang dito sa Pilipinas kung hindi sa iba't-ibang lugar sa buong mundo," he said. He reiterated the need for all the Filipinos to unite and help one another to bring progress to the country. He said solutions to the lingering problems of the Filipinos are available and needed only to be implemented by a united Philippines in order to succeed. Minister Wilde James Almeda also led a group of ministers in praying over Marcos, who praised the JMCIM for its steadfast and strong religious following in the country. Marcos also paid his respect to Pastor Wilde Estrada Almeda and other senior ministers before shaking hands and greeting JMCIM members. Marcos vowed strong support to JMCIM and urged Filipinos to continue serving God.
Sister Ruth AlmedaAwas, daughter of Pastor Wilde Almeda said she was honored to have Marcos grace the 41st Church Anniversary. “I rarely get excited over public figures, but this time, being a Ferdinand
Marcos fan and admirer, I just had to meet his son. It's no secret that I am an admirer of our former President Ferdinand Marcos' iron-clad, strongarm rule. I've always believed that his style of leadership is what the Philippines needed and still needs,” she said. She added that her brother, Minister Wilde James, and Minister Jun Esguerra and other preachers prayed over Marcos after a talk with him inside the tent. “We pray that the right person will get one of the highest seats in the government. Our dearest Papa and Mama have always supported Marcos albeit any human rights violations during the latter days of martial law (which came out of the Marcos regime) is something our dearest Papa and Mama opposed. Albeit I am hoping someone with the same leadership style as former President Ferdinand Marcos will again lead our country. I know through the prayer of our beloved Papa, if it's the Lord's will, the rightful candidate will win,” said Sister Ruth – whose husband Minister Filmore Awas, is a professor at the Benguet State University in La Trinidad town. The JMCIM Choir also performed beautiful songs of worships in the packed stadium. Just in December, the
JMCIM also launched a series of concerts and evangelism in the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates. The concert in Abu Dhabi held at the Grand Millennium Al Wahda – dubbed Revival Crusade – was spearheaded by Minister Wilde James Almeda, who travelled all the way from the Philippines to the United Arab Emirates for the 15th anniversary of JMCIM church there. He was assisted by prayer warrior Brother Danilo Cuarteros and his wife and other JMCIM members while in the UAE. He also led the evangelism in the United Kingdom after UAE. Minister Wilde James also participated in concerts in Manila – Christmas Concert at the SM Aura Premier Mall at the Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, and at the Amoranto Sports Complex dubbed as GLOW or Go Light Our World; and also at the Liceo University in Cagayan de Oro City in northern Mindanao. The concerts were also participated by the Almeda Sisters, and Annaliza Almeda-Smith and American Evangelist Luke Smith and Jermaine Smith. He said they are looking at South Korea for their upcoming evangelism. He also regularly holds services in at least 8 outreach missions in Canada; and the Middle East, among other countries.
Senator and vice presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr poses with Minister Wilde James Almeda and other ministers as tens of thousands of people flock to the JMCIM 41st Church Anniversary last week. During the latest anniversary celebration, Minister Wilde James Almeda took the opportunity to call on the public and JMCIM members all over country and abroad to support the advocacy “Yes for Peace – Bayanihan para sa KKK (Kapayapaan, Kaunlaran at Kasaganahan) “ in support to President Benigno Aquino’s peace efforts. The JMCIM launched the “Yes for Peace” at the University of the Philippines in Quezon City and peace advocates, including the police and military and government officials have praised the launching of this and renewed support to the JMCIM. The advocacy aims to
achieve permanent cessation of armed hostilities between the government and all armed groups; conduct of peace negotiations anywhere here in the Philippines instead of abroad; and promote Bayanihan or the collective involvement and participation for the implementation of programs and projects that have been or will be agreed upon in peace talks. Minister Wilde James Almeda is actively involved in the peace advocacy, saying, it is part of the gospel. The Yes for Peace is being supported by Department of Education; the Philippine Postal Corporation, the Presidential Communications Operations Office; the Philippine In-
formation Agency; the Philippine News Agency; and the National Printing Office, among other groups. E d u c a t i o n Undersecretary Mario Derequito also reminded all school division superintendents and school heads, including regional directors of the Department of Education to support the Yes for Peace advocacy. He ordered the display of banner in every schools indicating “This School is a Zone of Peace” to remind all concerned to consider public schools as neutral grounds or peace zones and must not be used as battlegrounds and targets of violence. China 'puts surface-to-air missiles' on disputed island Continued fr om page 1 from "President Obama did say the United States was duty bound to keep the region stable by ensuring freedom of navigation, which meant they would continue with military patrols and flybys. "Something like this by China will definitely be seen as a provocative move not just by the United States but all the countries in the region." Beijing claims nearly all of the South China Sea,
including small islands that are hundreds of kilometres from its southern coast. Four countries in South-East Asia have unresolved territorial disputes with China over the South China Sea, which has important shipping lanes and potential oil and other natural resources. ARMM distributes P39.2M worth of assistance to farmers in Lanao Sur COTABATO CITY – The Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAFARMM) distr ibuted recently a total of P39.2 million worth of farm inputs and equipment to different farmers’ cooperatives in Lanao del Sur to help boost agricultural production in the area. The equipment included 4 farm tractors, 13 floating tillers, 5 corn planters, 4 corn shellers, 10 cassava graters, a combined harvester and
a corn hammer mill. The farmers also received 16,400 bags of hybrid rice and corn seeds. ARMM Governor Mujiv S. Hataman led the distribution and was assisted by Lanao del Sur Governor Mamintal A. Adiong, Jr, DAF-ARMM Secretary Alexander Alonto, Jr. and Provincial Director Alexie Balindong at the Lanao del Sur Provincial Capitol in Marawi City. Hataman said the assistance is part of the government’s efforts to
improve the socio-economic condition of farmers. He said the present administration of President Benigno Aquino III has poured-in various multi-million development packages into the region to benefit thousands of beneficiaries. He added that the ARMM has never seen this record sum of projects in its entire histor y and the regional government wants to ensure that the projects redound to the benefit of
the people. Hataman urged the officials and farmer beneficiaries in the province to support and help sustain the programs and projects in their area. The provision of farm equipment and inputs to far mers is part of the Agri-Pinoy Rice and Corn Program of the Department of Agriculture. In 2015, the DAF-ARMM also provided similar equipment and inputs to farmers in Maguindanao. (Bureau of Public Information)

Corn feeds shortage may ‘Pagbaugbug Ha Kamaruan Iban Martabbat’ trigger hike in poultry prices
#79 ‘In Defense of Honor and Dignity’ Printed free of charge by Mindanao Examiner, Zamboanga City
A DROUGHT due to the worsening El Niño phenomenon could affect agricultural production and shortage of corn supply may hike prices of chicken in the market, the Department of Agriculture said. Dr. Raul Migriño, a DA veterinarian, said that it is highly likely that costs of poultry will rise once there is corn scarcity which is the main ingredient for chicken feeds. “The main ingredient of chicken feeds is 50 to 70 per cent corn,” Migriño said during a recent forum in Cebu of the Association of Government Information Officers-Philippine Information Agency that tackled the NewCastle disease and impact of El Niño to poultry and livestock production. Newcastle disease is an infection of domestic poultry and other bird species with virulent Newcastle disease virus. It is a worldwide problem that presents primarily as an acute respiratory disease, but depression,
nervous manifestations, or diarrhoea may be the predominant clinical form. At present, Migriño assured there is sufficient supply of chicken in the market with Cebu having the highest production rate in the region pegged at 40 per cent, followed by Negros Oriental and Bohol at 30 per cent each with the remaining ten per cent being produced by Siquijor. Cebu, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, on the other hand, are part of the 29 provinces throughout the country affected by El Niño, but this number could still go up by April. As early as October last year, DA conducted information caravans from town to town in the entire region to educate local government units and farmers on the impact of El Niño to crops, poultry and livestock. “We have told the farmers to plant droughtresistant crops like cassava, sweet potatoes and yam because their byproducts can also be fed
to animals,” said Migriño, adding, farmers were also taught on silage where the good grass is cut and preser ved and kept in anticipation of the worsening drought that could wither the grass, which is the main food for cattle. Migriño said during extreme humid weather, animals must be rehydrated at all times because a decline in immunity makes animals susceptible to various kinds of diseases, including Newcastle. He said pigs are initially vulnerable to El Niño because of their body fats and during pregnancy, could experience either abortion or premature delivery. DA has launched mitigating measures to protect poultry and livestock by giving out free de-worming medicines and injectable vitamins and advised farmers to visit the nearest DA office in their area for technical assistance.
