Authorities to arrest ISIS social media propagandists Philippine authorities have threatened to arrest persons helping the local ISIS group in spreading propaganda materials on social media. The Department of Information and Communications Technology said those violating the anti-cybercrime law would be arrested and charged in court as authorities continue to monitor social media posts that promotes and propagate terrorism, especially in connection to the Marawi city siege. ISIS fighters, mostly members of the jihadist Maute group, and their supporters

and sympathizers have flooded Facebook with propaganda – from pictures of executions of soldiers and innocent civilians to the destruction of military equipment – and statements agitating or urging Muslims to join the jihad. The military has asked Facebook to take down dozens of accounts believed to be from ISIS and their supporters. Fighting still continue in Marawi since militants occupied the city on May 23 and had already killed dozens from both sides. (Mindanao Examiner)

Troops fail anew to liberate war-torn city from ISIS fighters MARAWI CITY – Government troops have failed to liberate Marawi City from the hands of the local ISIS group as fighting enters its 4th week now. The military earlier vowed to flush out the militants and liberate the city which has been under ISIS control since May 23 when

fighters occupied much of Marawi and took some 240 civilians, including a Catholic priest hostage. Last week, the Independence Day celebration turned emotional as some government workers and soldiers, and even civilians displaced by the violence, silently wept

while they sing the national anthem. The sounds of gunfire and bombs dropped from military planes reverberated during the solemn commemoration of the Independence Day. Military officials offered prayers to soldiers who perished in the war

DILG-ARMM asks LGUs to help Marawi war evacuees COTABATO CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DILGARMM) urged local government units (LGUs) to help alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Marawi City in any way possible. Atty. Noor Hafizullah Abdullah, Secretary of DILGARMM, said the crisis in Marawi City calls for LGUs in the region, as well as in other regions, to extend assistance especially to the needy, such as women, children, and senior citizens. So far, LGUs adjacent to Marawi City have extended significant assistance to residents displaced by the hostilities, but since most of these are 6th-class towns, Sec. Abdullah said, “They may not be able to sustain their humanitarian efforts.” Some 47,957 families or about 239,878 individuals, have left Marawi City for evacuation centers in nearby towns and cities. Some have

moved to homes of their relatives outside Marawi. While the regional government has earmarked P100 million in relief assistance even as donations from various individuals and organizations are pouring in, Sec. Abdullah said Marawi residents need assistance since it may take time before the city would be fully rehabilitated and displaced families may have to stay longer in evacuation centers. “We have also requested the provincial governments in the ARMM to send their relief assistance to help those affected by the clashes, and they have already responded,” Sec. Abdullah said. He also called for breastfeeding spaces for mothers in evacuation centers. As of date, there are 41 designated evacuation centers catering to 7,956 families, or 40,573 individuals. “In times of disaster and calamities, LGUs are specifically mandated to protect

our people: women, children, infants, sickly and the elderly. The LGUs should provide utmost attention to them,” Sec. Abdullah added. Meanwhile, LGUs were also urged to safeguard the schools in nearby towns and regions since classes started on June 5. A total of 132 public and private schools in Marawi have been adversely affected by the fighting, seven of which are partially, or fully, damaged. The clashes also affected 22,222 students and 2,205 teaching and non-teaching staff. “In other regions, we are likewise calling for the LGUs to protect the schools in any forms of threats, especially during these times of crisis where students are in schools during weekdays,” Sec. Abdullah said. Education Secretary Leonor Briones said there are 1,391 children from Marawi City who are now enrolled in schools outside the city. (Bureau of Public Information)

which is now on its third week. Dozens of soldiers and civilians had already been killed in the fighting and with over 260,000 people displaced, there is no sign the ISIS is backing out from the battle despite military pronouncements that it had killed some 160 jihadists. Soldiers and policemen also took the opportunity to hang replicas of the Philippine flag in areas declared “safe zones” by the authorities as a symbolism of democracy and freedom, but it was unclear when the fighting would stop and for those displaced by the deadly and violent ISIS

campaign, all they hoped is for the war to stop and start rebuilding their lives, homes and bring back peace to the 368-year old Maranao city. ISIS, whose members are mostly from the jihadist Maute group, also released a new video clip where a fighter, who spoke fluent Tagalog – the national language – said the fighting they are waging is not about them, but to the Muslims who are now minority in Mindanao, which was under the rule of the Sultans in the past. The unidentified militant, an automatic rifle placed in front of him on a wooden table, repeat-

edly said that Mindanao is now being governed by “Kufar” or unbeliever, and said they are only fighting for freedom forcefully taken away from them. He went on blaming the Kufar for the destruction of Marawi. The military did not give any statement on the latest ISIS propaganda posted on Facebook, but it said there are still some 400 militants fighting government troops in Marawi, a far cry from previous statement of the Western Mindanao Command that only 15 gunmen had occupied the city. (With a report from Rhoderick Beñez)

Military brands ISIS claim propaganda MARAWI CITY – The military has again branded a propaganda an ISIS claim that its fighters still control much of the besieged city of Marawi on the southern region of Mindanao where clashes continue for four straight weeks now. The AMAQ news agency being run by the ISIS group said Filipino fighters are spread out in Marawi following a daring occupation on May 23 that left dozens of soldiers and militants, and civilians dead. “Islamic State fighters are spread in more than two-thirds of Marawi and tighten the chokehold on the Philippine army that is incapable of maintaining

control of the situation,” the ISIS said. The military said with the mounting ISIS casualties estimated at over 200, it will not take long before it liberates the Islamic city from militants, mostly members of the jihadist Maute group. But it said troops are fighting an estimated 400 jihadists armed with machine guns, anti-tank rockets and automatic rifles. The local ISIS group is being led by Abu Sayyaf chieftain Isnilon Hapilon, who has been designated Amir by the Islamic State. Two other leaders, Madie and Omar Maute, were also reported killed in the battle, but security forces

are yet to find their graves and exhumed the bodies for forensic examination to determine whether the brothers had been slain. Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera, an army spokesman, said troops rescued at least 5 civilians in Marawi who told authorities that 5 others had been killed and 8 others captured by ISIS. The rescued civilians managed to escape from ISIS after they swam the river behind the house where they hid. Militants stormed the house after learning that a group of civilians was hiding there. The fate of the hostages is still unknown. (With a report from Rhoderick Beñez)

Officials also announced the capture of Ominta Maute, also known by her other name as Farhana, the mother of the leaders of the local ISIS and the clan’s matriarch. She was captured in Lanao del Sur’s Masiu

town along with 2 wounded militants who escaped military operations in Marawi, and 7 other women believed to be members of the Maute group while attempting to flee the province. Security forces also recovered weapons and explosives from the matriarch, who is facing rebellion charges. Just recently, the clan’s patriarch Cayamora Maute, was also arrested at a military checkpoint

together with another wife and daughter, and a man in a rented van while trying to enter Davao City and police said a pistol and grenade were also recovered in the vehicle. Also arrested in separate military operations were former Marawi mayor Fahad Salic and Cotabato City engineer Nasser Dilangalen who were both accused of supporting the local ISIS fighters. Mosques in besieged city of Marawi are no longer military target MARAWI CITY – The Philippine military said it would not target places of worships in the besieged Islamic city of Marawi where ISIS militants were holed out and fighting security forces trying to dislodge them from their strongholds. Brigadier General Resituto Padilla, a military spokesman, made this announcement after one army official, Lt. Col. Jo-Ar Herrera said mosques,

where ISIS fighters are using to attack civilians and troops, would be targeted by security forces. “I would like to clarify that the Armed Forces will not bomb mosques,” Padilla clarified, saying, the military respects places of worships. Just last week, a sniper bullet found its target in the head of a 15-year old Muslim praying inside a mosque in Marawi. The military blamed ISIS for the

killing. Fighting still continue in Marawi since militants occupied the city on May 23 in a failed effort to declare it a province of the Islamic State in the Philippines. Dozens of soldiers and militants, including civilians, were killed in the violence. At least 70 policemen and about 60 civilians were also reported missing since then and efforts to locate them failed. (With a report from Rhoderick Beñez)

Civilians trapped in Marawi strive for survival MARAWI CITY – Civilians still trapped in Marawi’s war zone strive for survival as the battle to free the city of the remaining militants belonging to local terror groups rages on to its third week. The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Humanitarian Emergency Action and Response Team (ARMM-HEART ) has a seven-man team deployed in the city since Day 2 of the crisis to help in rescuing stranded civilians. The team brings with them years of training and experience in rescue and retrieval operation. They’ve already managed to rescue more than 4,000 trapped individuals since May 24 in coordination with the region’s Crisis Management Committee (CMC) in Cotabato City and the Provincial Management Committee of Lanao del Sur. The rescue operations were mostly response to distress calls received and processed through the ARMM CMC emergency hotline. The ARMM CMC repor ted that as of Thursday, June 8, around 1,379 civilians are still trapped in Marawi. These individuals are vulnerable to attacks from both the terror groups and government troops. Among those who

have been successfully rescued are Aminola Disonimba, 40, and 10 other civilians. They were trapped at Marawi’s Padian business district, an area controlled by the militants. They managed to escape the peril of being trapped in the battle zone on Friday night. Aminola said they braved the heavy firefight, intermittent air strikes and the strong current of the Agus River to make it to the waiting rescuers. His group crossed the treacherous Agus River by swimming from Padian to the Buadi Sacayo district. “Natakot talaga kami dahil baka kami na ang mahulugan ng bomba,” Aminola said. “Naging panatag lang ako noong nakatawid na kami ng Agus.” Aminola and his wife Delma, 48, were in Marawi for a vacation for the month of Ramadhan. The couple was staying at the house of Aminola’s brother in Padian. Like most civilians in the city, Delma could not believe the havoc and chaos caused by the terror groups. “Hindi namin inaasahan na tatagal ng ganito ang gulo,” she said. The clashes, which enters its 19th day on Sunday, have destroyed key places in the city, including its business district. Around 240,000

individuals have also been forced out of their homes. The evacuees are mostly staying at their relative’s houses, while some are in different evacuation centers. Delma became anxious hearing the loud noises of gunfires and bombs. “Hindi talaga kami nakatulog doon, may pangamba kami na baka kami na ang tatamaan ng bomba,” she said. Delma said they already ran out of food and had to rely on the rain for something to drink and fill their stomach. She realized that they had to make the escape, otherwise they might die of starvation. They’re currently sheltered at the Lanao del Sur’s provincial capitol along with 2,465 other evacuees where they receive medical and relief aids from the ARMM and provincial government. Aside from the CMC in Cotabato City, the ARMM has set up operation centers in Marawi and Iligan City and in the town of Malabang in Lanao del Sur to coordinate the region’s humanitarian response to the ongoing crisis. As of the latest data, all of the more than 200,000 evacuees receive relief packs from the regional government every three to four days. (Bureau of Public Information)

Dozens of houses, establishments demolished in Kidapawan City

Some of the demolished houses in Kidapawan City. (Mindanao Examiner – Rhoderick Beñez) KIDAPAWAN CITY – Dozens of houses and establishments were demolished recently on orders from the local and provincial governments to pave way for big-ticket infrastructure projects that includes road widening and hospital expansion. Lawyer John Haye Delubio, legal counsel for the provincial government, told dxND-Radyo BIDA that they informed the settlers as early as January and even a series of meeting and

consultations with the affected owners about the clearing operation. Some house owners resisted the order while others voluntarily demolished their houses, according to Delubio, who said that at least 77 houses, stores and establishments were demolished in Amas village. He said those whose structures were demolished would be relocated at Serbisyong Totoo Village in Manubuan in Matalam town in North Cotabato.

Margarita Sindol, who lives in the place since 1976, rejected the offer, saying, it would affect their livelihood. Even the reservoir of Metro Kidapawan Water District was affected by the demolition order. It was not immediately known whether the government would pay for the demolished structures or subsidize the expenses it would incur to rebuild their houses and establishments. (Rhoderick Beñez)

ARMM spends P35-M for Marawi humanitarian aid COTABATO CITY - The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) said it has spent over P35 million in humanitarian aid for the victims of the Marawi City crisis. The expenditure covers urgent relief for over 200,000 individuals now based in evacuation centers, staying in their relatives’ houses, or temporarily sheltered in the region’s operation center. ARMM Governor Mujiv Hataman said the aid is aimed at meeting the growing humanitarian needs of communities struggling with the current situation in Marawi City. "We need to help ease the burden and alleviate the suffering of the people of Marawi. The city is part of the

ARMM," he said. Hataman said current funds from the regional government can still respond to the needs of the evacuees. He said the government has so far allocated about P77 million for the victims of the crisis. Latest update from the ARMM’s crisis management committee indicated the regional government served relief packs to 200,234 evacuees and provided medical services to 4,003 individuals. The committee responds to the emergency needs of the Marawi residents through a 24/7 emergency helpline. During the three-week battle between government troops and local terrorist

groups, the committee managed to save more than 5,132 trapped, or stranded, civilians in Marawi’s war zone, while 1,079 civilians are still inside the battle zone and need to be rescued immediately. The ARMM’s Health department, meanwhile, has set up an operation center in Iligan City to provide medical assistance to the evacuees. To ensure equal and timely relief distribution to individuals struggling with the situation in Marawi City, the ARMM uses a system dubbed Disaster Assistance and Family Access Card (DAFAC). The system is applied by the Department of SocialWelfare and Development (DSWD) to validate the status

of families affected by the crisis, which will serve as a reference in the provision of appropriate interventions. The DAFAC, ARMM Executive Secretary Atty. Laisa Alamia noted, will also be used in future rehabilitation and recovery programs for Marawi City. “We are encouraging residents of Marawi City, whether staying in the evacuation centers or not, to register with their social welfare office," Atty. Alamia added. The DSWD-ARMM, is the lead agency manning the operation center established in the municipality of Malabang in Lanao del Sur. (Bureau of Public Information)

TECH TIPS: How To Clean Up Your Android Device: Cache, History, Files And More EVEN MORE stressful than a sluggish phone is an 'insufficient storage' message in the Play Store when you're trying to download a new App. If you're reading this article, it's because you've probably run into a lack of storage on your phone or your device is performing worse than you'd expected. If you're looking for an app to clean your smartphone, I'm warning you, the vast majority don't deliver on their promise and, many times, the solution is in the Android system itself. Before going on, I need to inform you that this article was written in collaboration with AndroidPIT readers and other members of the content team. So, the solutions found in this list are based on the number of times they were mentioned in user responses on the site's social media. It does not reflect the opinion of the editorial team. Find a pr oblem using problem DiskU sage iskUsage DiskUsage is unique for each individual, a personal statement. The first thing you need when you're cleaning your smartphone is to find out which type of data or feature is taking up the most space. Using DiskUsage, you can take a look at all of the memory usage information on your smartphone or tablet. Therefore, it's easier to see exactly which folders and files are using up the most memory on your device. After scanning, you can see the size of each app, including their cache, and even how many voice files you’ve saved. DiskUsage will graphically show you which of your files are the biggest, and then it’ll let you choose which ones you’d like to delete. Manually clean an app's cache The majority of our site’s readers and editors manually clean their apps' caches as well as frequently deleting images and videos that they receive through WhatsApp. By doing so, you can get to know your device and its features better. You can even take preventative measures, like blocking those avalanches of automatically downloaded pictures on messaging apps. Furthermore, by doing this manually, you can be certain that you won't cause any long term damage to your device. Many cleaning tools promise to improve the memory and performance of your device. This does happen, but it's mostly due to cleaning out your apps' caches. A cache is basically a storage area where data or frequently used processes are saved for quicker access in the future. In the end, the cache actually saves time and avoids unnecessary use of the hardware on your phone. So, always cleaning your app when your phone is running slowly or the memory is full could seem like the best option in the short run, but it could have consequences in the long term. I recommend doing preventative cache cleanings on occasion, and when you do it, do it from the list of Apps with the most data. In order to do this: – Go to the Settings Menu; – Click on Apps; – Find the All tab; – Choose an app that is taking

up a lot of space; – Click the button Clear Cache. If you're running Android 6.0 Marshmallow on your device then you'll need to click on Storage and then Clear Cache. However, this only works to clean one app. In order to clean the cache of every app at the same time, follow the steps below: – Go to Settings; – Click on Storage > Cache Data or Saved Data; – A screen will ask for confirmation to remove everything stored within the caches. Confirm and save to remove the content. Factor y rreset eset yyour our phone actory Just like the name says, restoring your phone to factory settings takes you back to zero and resets your device's settings to exactly how they were the day it came out of the box. There won't be any extra apps, contacts, settings or any type of data, only what comes standard on Android. However, if you have updated your system to a more recent version, the system will keep the most recent upgrade. So, if you were running Lollipop and updated to Marshmallow, after the reset, your phone will continue running Android Marshmallow. This feature is mostly used by people that like to install different ROMs on their device but it could also be very helpful to users who have an older phone. Doing this will give your device a breath of life. I especially recommend it if you've had your device for more than a year and you've never formatted it. Additionally, it's important to backup your data before resetting your phone. In order to restore your phone to factory settings, the most common way is: – Go to Settings; – Click on Backup and Reset; – Make a backup in the Android system itself by using Drive; – Factory Data Reset; – Reset phone; – You may have to put your PIN in again; – Click on Reset phone or Erase Everything; – Restart. SD M aid - S ystem Cleaning Maid System Tool SD Maid was one of the apps that was most mentioned by both users and members of our team alike. It works like an internal tool box that lets you find files or app directories that are no longer installed on your smartphone; search for known file types and locations which can normally be securely deleted and, among other things, remove duplicate files. The app has a well designed and intuitive interface which works just as well for users with or without root access. If you have administrative access to your device, you can remove even more fat to free up space in your memory. The app does have a PRO version, which costs $3.49. I recommend the PRO version to only those users who have rooted their phone, since the majority of the features need root access. A while back we talked with the App developer and sincerely, SD Maid is very honest in their advertising. They don't make promises they can't deliver on. So, if you think manually

cleaning your phone is a bit too much work, then according to both users and the AndroidPIT team, SD Maid is a solid option. CCleaner – P uts yyou ou in Puts contr ol control CCleaner was the top voted among AndroidPIT readers. But what else can you expect since it's one of the most popular computer services out there. This app simply and efficiently removes useless, obsolete or temporary data. However, it should be used in moderation. What makes this software attractive among PC and smartphone users is that it performs a device analysis; scanning the cache, browser history, received calls history, files and various storage areas on the system. Then, it'll recommend what should be deleted. In addition to all that, it gives a list of apps that are taking up a lot of memory in the cache and then, it gives the user a chance to choose if they'd like to remove that temporary data or not. Just like SD Maid, the app's interface is simple and intuitive. Contrary to its competitor Clean Master, which promises to speed up your smartphone, CCleaner doesn't force users to end processes; it’s offered as an option, but the final decision is up to the user. This type of feature, in fact, is a stopgap, since when you close all your apps and start another, the last one will, of course, run faster. Yet, this is just time consuming because you'll have to open the other apps again when you want to use them. Conclusion Don't make the mistake of believing that your smartphone will have 50-70% better performance after using a cleaning tool. Sorry, but it's just not true. For this article, I tried looking within our community of Android users for the answer to the best way to remove excess data from an operating system and, to my surprise, I realized that our users manually clean their devices much more often than they use an app. However, in case you don't feel like doing the leg work, keep in mind that when you're choosing an app to remove unwanted files that are taking up space on your device, look for apps that give you information about your options and not just an optimization button. If you have an older smartphone and you just can't part ways with it yet, try rooting it, because the features on cleaning tools are much better on rooted phones. Also, take advantage of new features like Google Drive or Dropbox, as they can come in very handy. Also, if you can use an external memory device such as a microSD card, it could help save you some precious space. Lastly, always keep your phone updated, and if you're not using an app, remove it from the drawer. You can always download it again from the Play Store when you really need it. Are there any other apps or processes that you'd recommend to clean your smartphone's system? (Camila Rinaldi, AndroidPIT)

HEALTH: Breathe Easy: 21 Tips For Asthmatics Payo ni Dr. Willie T. Ong AN ASTHMA attack is caused by the swelling of the small lung passages (called bronchioles). During an attack, these tiny lung passages constrict and get blocked by phlegm. Hence, patients experience difficulty of breathing, coughing and wheezing. Wheezing is a high-pitched sound similar to a cat’s cry. The good news is that lifestyle changes can reduce your asthma attacks by 50%. Here is what you need to do: 1. Identify and avoid asthma triggers. Did you know that around 80% of people with asthma also have an allergy? Think about what you were doing before you had the attack. Did you smell some dusty or pungent material? Were you tired, angry or stressed? Was it hot? Note these down and avoid these situations in the future. 2. Are you allergic to food? Some asthmatics have a specific food allergy. Be careful with food preservatives, food coloring, junk food, wine, nuts, seafoods, egg and chicken. Find out if you’re allergic to these foods and avoid them. You can consult an allergologistdoctor. 3. Be careful with medicines. There are people who are allergic to drugs like aspirin, penicillin and pain relievers. Ask your doctor before taking an herbal supplement, too. Paracetamol for fever or pain is probably safest for you. 4. Avoid pollen. During the summer season, large quantities of pollen emanate from trees and grass. If it’s a hot and windy day, try to avoid going out of the house. Close your bedroom windows. There’s also more pollen before 10 AM. 5. You may open bathroom windows. Molds and fungi can trigger asthma, too. Molds like to grow in damp places like your bathroom. Hence, dry your bathroom after using. 6. Use a vacuum cleaner to suck out dust from your bed, sofa and floor. It’s a very effective way to reduce asthma attacks. 7. Simplify your homes. Don’t use carpets or rugs as these can accumulate lots of dust. Use

Dr. Willie T. Ong washable curtains and blinds. There are likewise special dust-free pillow cases you can use. 8. Avoid pet dogs and cats. If you have pets at home, bathe them every week to reduce falling dander. However, it would be best if you didn’t have pets inside your house because their tiny hairs can penetrate and irritate your lung passages. 9. Reduce cooking smells by opening the kitchen window. Strong smells from frying onions and garlic can trigger an asthma attack. Open the windows or better yet, do your cooking outside the house. 10. Keep your house squeaky clean. Allergy and asthma are usually triggered by small insects called dust mites. These microscopic bugs live and eat dead skin cells which we shed off daily. To eliminate dust mites, wash your bed sheets, pillows and blankets every week. Place them under the sun to kill the mites. 11. Avoid smoke and cigarette smokers, too. Request your relatives and friends not to smoke in front of you. Limit going out on public transportation where bus fumes and dust abound. If you need to go out, a face mask may help. 12. Use an air-conditioner. Air conditioning is extremely helpful because it lowers humidity and filters dust and pollen, making breathing much easier. You can also try an air filter, and see if it helps. 13. Eat fruits and vegetables high in flavonoids such as oranges, pomelo, apples, grapes, and calamansi juice. These flavonoids strengthen our lungs, blood vessels and immune system. 14. Eat oily fish like sardines, salmon and tilapia.

These fishes contain omega-3 fatty acids, which may be beneficial for asthma patients. 15. During an asthma attack, one home remedy is to drink a cup of black coffee. Studies show that caffeine acts similar to the anti-asthma drug theophylline and may open up the lung passages. However, if your symptoms are severe, it’s best to go to a hospital. 16. Avoid soft drinks and foods containing MSG. Especially for kids, MSG can trigger an asthma attack. Junk foods and some Chinese foods are high in MSG. 17. Avoid very cold or very hot weather. Extreme weather conditions can trigger an asthma attack. 18. Exercise regularly but don’t overdo it. You can go to a gym and try strengthening exercises for your arms, shoulders, chest and back muscles. These muscle groups are important for breathing. Swimming and singing are good exercises, too. 19. Try abdominal breathing. There are two ways to breathe: using your chest or using your abdomen. Abdominal breathing is more effective than chest breathing because it uses the more powerful abdominal muscle called the diaphragm. To illustrate, lie down on the floor and place your hands on your tummy. Then, as you inhale, your hands should elevate but your chest should hardly move. Abdominal breathing sucks in more air inside your lungs. 20. Wash your hands regularly to avoid viruses and bacteria. If you catch a cold, this can lead to an asthma attack. 21. See your doctor often. Your lung specialist (also called pulmonologist) will know if you need maintenance medicines. If these drugs and inhalers are too expensive, you can try buying from a generic drugstore. Remember that asthma can be a serious and potentially deadly condition. Work hand in hand with your doctor to keep you asthma under control. Take care.

DPWH eyes Express Way in Cebu CEBU CITY - The Department of Public Works and Highways said it would launch the Cebu Circumferential Road or Metro Cebu Express Highway as part of the government’s infrastructure projects for Cebu. Engineer Nonato Paylado, DPWH’s Chief of Planning and Design Divi-

sion, said the project is expected to alleviate traffic congestions in Cebu City. He said the 74-kilometer road stretching from the town of Naga to Danao will pass through upland areas in Cebu province. The project will cost around P26 billion based on the zonal valuation of prop-

erties alone, but it may five times higher once the fair market value and right-ofway costs are considered, he said, adding, that a part of the feasibility study is to find possible sources of funds. Paylado said they may seek foreign funding for the project which is likely to start by 2022.
