1. LIVING HOUSE [BRUTALIST DREAM]
2
The Living House challenge proposes several exisiting issues which need to be urgently addressed. One of such is the lack of natural light. The narrow site as well as local building regulations prohibits openings on the long sides of the house; thus, overhead skylights are designed to introduce light to the living space via the void at first floor.

Several refinements are made to the presentation components: sections and plans are given light material rendering, a more clear spatial diagram is provided, and key spatial experience perspectives are presentated in a more consistent manner. 3

The Living Neighbourhood project aims to provide enjoyable accomodation for international students in the suburb of Carlton. This three-plot land contains studio units for individual dwelling, capable of supporting up to 18 people; communal kitchen/dining spaces and abundant green areas both on ground and roof. Of course, the central theme of this establishment is the internal courtyard, which provides excellent opportunity for outdoor activities while being fenced off from the public realm. The site plan and floor plans have been improved as to indicate green areas; sections now have a clearer contrast against the backdrop to display interior utilities - neighbouring rooms are adjusted to have mirrored plans with shared services, reflecting real life scenarios. Furthermore, key spatial experiences and spatial diagrams are overhauled with clearer presentation. 9
