Qurbani: a sacred act
Q
urbani is a sacred act performed for the sacrifice of an animal slaughtered for the sake of Allah Almighty reminding us of the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail (Peace and Blessings be Upon them both). This was a ritual performed by the Prophet Muhammad (Peace and Blessing be Upon Him) during the days of Dhul-Hijjah.

According to Islamic tradition, Qurbani or Adhahi is obligatory (Wajib) upon all Muslims who have the financial means (those who are eligible to give Zakat) to sacrifice a goat, sheep or cow on the days of Eid.

SYRIA & PALESTINE
Our local partners distributed fresh meat to both Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Jordan.
PAKISTAN
We provided Qurbani meat in the flood affected areas.
INDIA
The MWF India team spent their Eid day with the poor and needy.
KENYA
Hundreds of animals were sacrificed across the North Eastern region in the Tana River Delta.
SOMALIA
Our team distributed Qurbani meat to one of the world's largest IDP camps in Mogadishu.
