In performing my internship, it’s a successful one I had to take the help and guideline of some respected persons. First and foremost, I would like to thank Ms. Shezar, for her guidance throughout my internship. She acted as a mediator between the scary real world of the industry and the safe boundaries of the university. I would also like to thank my dear brother, Nhat Minh, for sharing his experiences in the industry with me prior to embarking on my training. In addition, I would like to thank the wonderful people I have met in iconnect360. My supervisor, Pam Cheing, for giving me many chances and opportunities to expose to different projects and people in the industry, for caring for me even with matters outside the office. I also want to thank my colleague, Yong Zheng, for providing me accommodation during the internship, for listening to my problem

from times to times and giving me helpful advises. Big thanks also go to my teammates Cayla and Meera who endured my endless questions and probes for information. Lastly, I would like to extend my thanks to my boyfriend, Stephen for his unending support throughout my industrial training. Thank you also to my course mates for their support pre and post-internship. Special thanks to Celeste, whose support, teaching and knowledge enriched my experience at iconnect360 more than anyone else could have ever bestowed to an intern like myself. Thank you, all.

cOMMUNICATION cHANNEL To maintain an effective communication between teams and team members within the organization, Ezypay and iconnect360 use a several communication channels: Email: Electronic mail, commonly referred to as email, is a method of exchanging digital messages from an author to one or more recipients. We use email to keep the communication more official (especially for matters such as to for permission, to announce, to keep communicate with clients and so on). Skype: Skype is a freemium voice over IP service and instant messaging client. It allows users to communicate with peers by voice, video and instant messaging over Internet. We use this to discuss with each other over internet and also to communicate with customer (Support Team). GoToMeeting: It is an online meeting, desktop sharing and video conferencing software that enables user to meet with other computer users, customers, clients or colleagues via the Internet in real time. We uses this to conduct meetings and formal hearing information between those in Australia and Malaysia.
Trello: Trello is a free web-based project management application. It uses boards to represent projects. It is a list of lists filled with cards, which corresponding to tasks. Cards are supposed to progress from one list to the next (via drag-and-drop) to show the progress. Users can be assigned to cards. We use this to keep track of what we have to do within a team. Basecamp: Basecamp is a webbased project management tool. It makes it easy for people in different roles with different responsibilities to communicate and work together. It is a place to share files, have discussions, collaborate on documents, assign task, and check due dates. All of those features are actually offered in Trello as well, but we use Basecamp to see a bigger picture on what we have to do as the whole organization, most often between the managers.

Chapter 02 / Process of Work
Process of Work Receiving the brief
Feedback
Receiving the task from the Marketing Manager or the Sales and Marketing Director through Trello cards (refers to Communication Channel). Related information together with references will also be attached in the card if there is any. A discussion will be conducted for the brief in order to avoid any misunderstanding when necessary.
The executions are then saved as a low-resolution image and attached on Trello card to receive feedbacks from the Manager and Director. If they are happy with the overall direction, minimal changes will be made. If not, it is back to the drawing board for designers to come up with several other directions.
Approval Execution All designs are executed on screen. It is asked to be executed on paper first before going on screen for certain projects such as infographic or animation. Software used most is Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Premiere Pro.
Once the design has been approved, the Manager and Director will check the artwork for any mistakes before signing it off to production.
Production After double-checked by the Manager and Director, the final artwork then send out to be produced physically. This step is usually outsourced; the printing house will print out the final product and then send back to the company.

03 Internship Report
Chapter 03 / Summary of Internship
Summary of Internship The deeds I have done As an intern in iconnect360, I was assigned many tasks throughout the training. Despite having some days when work was not abundant, there were time when one job brief came in after another, demanding immediate attention from all sides. As I was working in the Marketing team, most of the tasks given to me were for that account. Majority of the work I have done are related to Online Marketing, where I had to create images and videos to promote and inform about Ezypay and iconnect360. I had to create daily images for the Facebook Pages and Blogs. I was also in charge of all the design-related materials for the monthly Digital Marketing Meet-up called the #DMM360. I had to provide the official logo for this meet-up as well as the promotional images for the Facebook Pages and Blogs. Nametags used for each meet-up was also designed and produced by myself. During the meet-up, I took care of taking photos and videos for marketing purposes later on after every session. Not only that, I took care of the promotional items that sent out to fitness centres, gym and club to explain and inform
their gym members about the company services. These items are brochures, counter cards (to put on the snack table or counter desk) and goal cards that are given out to gym members so they can carry it in their wallet. Some of the brief I received from the Marketing Manager is mainly to serve the purpose of letting me learning new things that I have not exposed to before, such as reviewing and summarizing the SEO (search engine optimization) seminar video, reading and conclude the Content Marketing book, or optimizing the name of our blog posts in WordPress. Not only that, I was in charge of the Fitness Industry Survey Explainer Video that now appears on the Ezypay Website and Youtube. It is a simple infographic animation that was done fully by me with some help from the Marketing Manager for proof reading of the content, and from Angus from Australia side for the narrating. Besides the Marketing briefs, I was also given some small task from other departments such as designing a meeting proposal, designing a job description, combining a support video from the Kuala Lumpur team to the Australia Team to congratulate them for the Telsta Business Awards Finals and so on.
17 / 18
Accomplishments I believe that after I have spent time executing job during training, I have increased the speed of workflow and improved my time management skill. I realized during the training that I needed to push myself to work faster within the timeline to maintain the workflow and increase efficiency. I learnt to ask question and speak out my opinions as I realized the team actually appreciated me voicing my opinion, even if the opinions were somewhat obscure. Sharing is caring, knowing is growing, and sometimes things that pointed out could be something that was overlooked. As I was working in the Marketing Department, I also learnt to express an idea or request for something in different ways of saying so that the other party would feel more at ease and more than happy to reply and work something out. I also learnt more about the working culture, things such as getting help from someone and repay them with something else
afterward like a meal or a small little gifts; things like relationships is almost everything in the industry, and it is best for one like me to start building up my contacts; or even things like any kind of achievement is deserve some attention and maybe even celebration to motivate everyone and to keep a fair balance between hard work and fun. In term of technical skills, I definitely have improved on my videographic skill as I have been exposed to that for a numerous of time during the training. I know what kind of footage I need for different types of video, and it definitely takes me much less time now to construct a video out of footages. My presentation skill is also improved tremendously. I have learned to create a better slide design to effectively deliver the message to the audience and I learnt to become more confident after overcoming my fear standing in front of people and present.

Chapter 03 / Summary of Internship
The Highs and Lows I felt that my time spent in iconnect360 was an immense learning experience. Everyone there are very helpful and friendly and full of knowledge. They are fun to be with and from them I learnt many different things that not only lay within the design subject but spread to other aspects as well. I also think that the time of my training was well placed, because I was given the chance to witness and attend many company’s meeting and event. I attended the quarterly launch of company, where everyone sat down and the CEO briefed us on how the company is doing, what is the good and bad, and what we should improve for this coming quarter; I attended the company’s birthday celebration and the Best Cloud Product celebration, and many more. Not only that, I am happy at how well received and accepted I was as a member of the team. I felt that I was given many opportunities to do, to learn and to contribute from my superiors.
On the other hand, there were a few negative aspects to the training I received from iconnect360. I know this is something where nothing can be done or fix, but the company itself is not in the advertising industry, so I could not get to experience first-hand on how life in the advertising industry is. Also, my team mates are majoring in web design, so they could not give me much advice and tips regarding graphic design. It was also hard for me sometime to communicate with my supervisor regarding videography and animation, as she has no experience and knowledge on that matters. Other than that, everything is just simply amazing for me.
19 / 20
Classroom to the real world Did I apply my knowledge from 5 years in Limkokwing University in the industry? Yes, I did. I applied my technical skills, particularly in Adobe Illustrator extensively throughout my industry training. I am thankful for my lecturers who had prepared me with the right skills in the earlier semesters. I also felt that the amount of presentations I had to do during the semesters have increased my communication skills and I could speak to my superiors and teammates without much problems. The general experience in Limkokwing University – the global mix of students under of roof – has also prepared me to interact with people from all walks of life, to embrace diversity and accept change.
However, there were times during training when I felt unprepared. I was unsure of what I should do and how to do regarding Videography as I did not expose to the subject during the semester. Although I was majoring in multimedia, there was no official lecture regarding Videography and Premiere Pro for video editing purposes. I felt that it would be nice if the students get to learn about videography along with the existed photography course, and Premiere Pro along with After Effect. Besides that, I think as a graphic design students, we should also learn to writing copy for the purpose of advertising or marketing. Although it leans more to the advertising major, but I think we all should at least exposed to it as a foundation.
Strengths and Weaknesses After working in iconnect360, I realized that I hold a great technical skills. I know my programs really well, and for those programs I did now know of, I had no trouble learning and getting used to it in short amount of time. I am eager to learn and motivated to try out new things. My willingness to work overtime often impress my colleagues. During the training progress, I was always willing to go the extra mile and put in extra time to finish the work. Very often I go back home hours after my working hours. I think I possess a senses of self-responsibility. That is, I understand what is needed for me and I strive to deliver as best I can.
However, I feel that I could improve on my socializing skill. Although I could be friendly and expressive, I have many troubles starting and maintaining a conversation with others. And I know for a fact that I tend to be introverted even more when I am concentrating and working on a project, which pull me away from keeping track and working closely with my teammates. I also think that I need to improve my knowledge and keep myself updated on the trends and things that going on around the world, such as the advancements of technology and advertising or the world famous campaigns if I wished to be successful in Marketing. I realized that I fail to keep abreast with the latest trends in social media and the world around me, which is paramount in this industry.
Internship Report
Chapter 03 / Summary of Internship
Additional skills I need to achieve Through this training, I found that I need to have several additional skills before I graduate. I believe that I need to learn more about web design and code, as websites are the best form of media to receive and provide information nowadays. That would also helps me to effectively communicate with other web designers. I think that I could also improve my communication skills, and I believe I can do that by meeting more people and socializing more often. I feel that I tend to be slightly awkward and hence looking unapproachable towards other people. I also think that I should learn another language, i.e Mandarin so that I can communicate with more people. I understand that sometimes clients or even teammates express themselves better in another language, and I think I will be able to establish a better relationship with them if I could conserve in that language as well.
21 / 22
Learning from the best I learnt that though I generally tend to prefer working alone, working as a team has its benefits. Each team member, when functioning at their optimum, motivates one another to produce successful results. It is also reassuring to know that I can count on others to give their honest opinion however harsh it may be. I learnt that I am adaptable to my workflow, and I can accommodate or compliment the workflow of others as well. I also learnt that maintaining honest and transparency, especially within a group, is really important to bring out the best in each other. That is the way every of my team members discuss with one another, pointing out the flaws and weaknesses of each and everyone’s ideas regardless of rank. However, as I was quite a frank person, my supervisor pointed out to me in person that it is better to give a good opinion first, before the bad opinions, to ease out the tension. After all, each and every one of us have put effort into their work before sharing with the team.
In addition, I admire greatly the professionalism of the Support Team. When they are on the microphone and supporting clients, they takes the problem seriously, they calmly explain to the clients, and they endured the clients patiently. After they put down that microphone, they become the clown of the office and making everyone laugh with their jokes and humour. It amazed me how they are keeping their egos and emotions away from the work they are doing. Relationships were very casual in iconnect360, everyone was a friend with one another regardless of rank or status. However, many maintained a more professional attitude during work time without forgetting to be polite, especially those that came from Australia. My Director in the Marketing team never forgot to request my assistance without a ‘please’ and she thanked and congratulated me for the smallest of gestures or job. It made me feel appreciated and motivated me to work harder and do more for the team. From there I realized that is one of the thing a leader could do to motivate their team members.
Internship Report
Chapter 03 / Summary of Internship
Feeling like home During my industrial training in iconnect360, I managed to observe and partake in the culture of the company. On my first day, I immediately knew iconnect360 was full of friendly people. I was surprised by welcome decorations at my desk and given a tour of the workspace and introduced to each and everyone in the company. Everyone I met smiled and welcomed me warmly. Days passed by, and I realized they always treat one another with love, care and respect. If one’s birthday is coming, his or her team will discuss a birthday surprise on that day for the person, sometimes involve his/ her family members as well. Any team member who went to take some snack or drink from the pantry would usually bring some back for the other members and shared them out. All this was done on the goodwill of the individuals. When anyone travelled to some places, they will always bring back some signature snack from that place and share with everyone else in the company. In addition, I also realized that communication is really wellthought-out within iconnect360. We make sure everyone learn
and use communication tools (Trello, Skype, Basecamp, etc) to maintain keeping track of each other’s work, making sure no one is left behind. When I had my interview, the Marketing Director also requested me that I will always ask question whenever there is anything I was unsure of, as communication is really important to work as a team. Every day of my training, a small meeting will be conducted within each team (we Marketing team called it a ‘huddle’) in the morning, just so one can update with everyone else in the team what they are planning to work on that day. Every Friday’s afternoon, a casual meeting will be conducted for everyone in the office, so each team can update with each other what is happening at their side. Besides that, iconnect360 makes sure we enjoy a fair balance between hard work and fun. We conduct celebrations from time to time whenever something worth celebrating happening. It ranged from holiday events, such as Christmas or Halloween, to Achievement Celebration, such as Company receiving awards or reaching a big target, to Internal Celebration, like Birthday Date or Family Date and so on. I would say iconnect360 feels like a second home to me.

05 Internship Report
Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Weekly Summary Week 1: Jun 16-20 This is the first week of my internship. On the first date, I was introduced to the general working communication within the company using different applications such as Trello, Skype, Basecamp, and so on. Within the week my colleagues also introduced me to Marketing, SEO (Search Engine Optimization), saying that this would be helpful for my coming projects. The first task I was given this week was to design an A0 size Quarterly Poster. This poster is designed and printed every four months to update with everybody in the company with the purpose of informing, motivating and decorating. It is required to include the company’s priorities and values as well as its mascots. The poster I suppose to design is for July to September 2014 section under the theme of World Cup and We Are One. The design was overall loved by my colleagues, and I only had to fix a little bit here and there from their comments and suggestions before Pam (my supervisor) send it to print. The second project I received from Pam was to design a Brochure that is to be given out to customer to inform them about what Ezypay is all about before they sign up for it. The main layout was already given
by Pam, and I only have to put it on screen and arrange and test print. However, it was really challenging for me to design this, as Pam wants it to looks fun and enjoyable, yet need to have all the body copy she given to me (which are a lot!) After this brochure was finished, Pam asked me to also come up with an interactive/fun brochure idea, so she can suggest both ideas to the Director (Celeste). I spent a few days to do research and made some mock-ups of the interactive brochure. When Pam and I showed them to Celeste, Celeste decided to put those mock-ups aside and brief us on the whole project all over again. Apparently, Pam made a mistake and started the project (with me) in the wrong direction. The brochure is meant to engage with the gym members when they heard of Ezypay: Secure, Safe, Reassured, Relieved, the emotions that engaged by being informed before signing up for a service by the members. With that direction, the brochure should look professional align with experience financial, and the information should be simple, short and friendly, for nobody wants to read so much generally. With that Pam went back to redo her bodycopy and plan, I went back to research on how should the brochure looks like with all the points Celeste mentioned.
49 / 50
To summarize, this was a good first week. The colleagues were really friendly and helpful in every way possible, I felt involved even when it is not directly my projects as they showed me the ideas and asked for my opinions, and it is nice to feel that my
opinion matters in some way. Even when Celeste re-brief Pam, I was also involved in the whole conversation, simply because I was part of the team, not just some extra workers that receive orders. I am really looking forward to the days ahead.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 2: Jun 23-27 This is the second week of my internship. The first thing I did this week was continuing on designing the brochure that was pending from the previous week. Celeste really likes the new brochure design. The time spent for this design was not as long as the previous one, that clearly proofs that a better understanding on the project can speed up the designing progress. Of course there is a few fixes needed to be done here and there, but overall the design progress went quite smoothly. Together with the brochure, I also had to come out with a counter card design that goes under the same style. The counter card is meant to be placed around the gym and reminds the customer about the service they signed up for, from there giving out the feeling of ensuring. Therefore, the counter card should has the same design elements as the brochure so customers can relate. As the theme is already there, it was easy for me to come out with the design. At first I was using any images I could find on Shutterstock that relates to gym and fitness (Figure 2-1). However, Celeste had a look at the design, and was considering to have it featuring Asian women and men, as it will be placed in Singapore’s fitness
centres. The progress of finding images that feature Asian women and men were challenging, as there are not many nice pictures on ShutterStock that features what we are looking for. After many considerations between different images back and forth, the design have finalized with one Asian women in the end. For this week, I and the Marketing team also had to prepare for a small event called the Digital Marketing Meetup 360, or #DMM360. It is a non-profit SEO knowledge sharing event where we have a speaker shares their knowledge/ experiences with others. This was our very first digital market/SEO meetup. For the preparation, we went to IKEA to purchase some furnitures as well as decoration items for the meetup point. I also had to do some design items such as survey paper and the name tag for both staffs and guesses. During the event itself, I took care of setting up the event room as well as being the photographer for the day. I had a lot of fun and I learned a lot from my colleges and the event itself. It was a really successful first meet-up, and our Marketing team is eager to make another one later on.
51 / 52
By the end of the week, the whole Kuala Lumpur team spent a little bit of time to shoot a video together to support our Australia team on being in the finalists of Telstra Australian Business Awards. I will be in charge of editing the video by next week’s Monday so then it can be sent to Australia before the Winner Announcement in Tuesday.
To summarize, this was a really busy week. I had days where I stayed up late and got home at 12am in the morning. However, I had so much fun with so many different activities together with my colleagues, and I learned a lot from those. I am enjoying my work, and I am looking forwards for what awaits me next week.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 3: Jun 30-Jul 4 This is the third week of my internship. I started the week with creating a video montage for Ezypay, Kuala Lumpur team to support our Australia team on being in the finalists of Telstra Australian Business Awards. This video is only meant for our employees to view, therefore the video is not required to be really professional and should be done quickly so that I could move on with another task. After editing and arranging the video, I was asked to just upload it to my Youtube channel and send the link to everyone. For this week, I was concentrating mainly in designing 5 goal cards. These cards are meant to be kept in the customer’s wallets and encourage them to go to the club/gym as well as remind them about Ezypay. This task took me quite a long time to execute, as it required me to find suitable images, a number of editing (for suitable color and size) as well as playing with typography. All those requirements times 5 times (as there are 5 different card with different images and quotes and target audience) equals to time consuming. The designs I suggested were loved by Celeste and Pam. However, I still have to change the sizing of the cards (to be more suitable for the card printing from a specific printing house) and fix
some small mistakes that were realized after test printed. Another thing I did for this week was to design the car window signs. It was a little bit troublesome in the end, as Celeste, Pam and I all understood the brief differently. As Pam was my supervisor, I checked and confirmed with her that it was a car window sign that I needed to design. However, Celeste actually wanted a rear-view mirror signs instead. Nevertheless, I happened to finish designing the signs before I and Pam found out we got the brief wrongly. My first designs for the car window signs were a little bit crowded, as the images I put in were driving the concentration away from the typography. It was actually because I remembered I heard during the brief that this design was supposed to be in the same style with the goal card style (image + typography), which actually will look fine and pretty if I was to design a small hanging sign for the rear view mirror like how Celeste wanted. Anyway, Pam saw the problem with the car window sign design as well, so she asked me to design it with just typography and remove all the images away, hence the second designs. As Pam likes my second design, she showed it to Celeste, only to find out Celeste was thinking of

the signs for a rear-view mirror instead. For that, Celeste actually likeed the first design better, as it looks less corporate and it connects with the customer. Pam concerns about how people in Malaysia are not so often hang given things on their rear-view mirror, and Celeste decided to maybe have a look at the brief idea again some other time. And for now the project is currently on hang. I and my three other colleagues had a presentation by the end of this week regarding the current design trends this year. I did some research and decided to present the trends in 2014 that was developed from the biggest trend, flat design, at the moment. Celeste told me this presentation is mainly to share and learn, but I soon realized after the presentation that the main idea was not only to present the current trends in 2014, but to present the current trends that
may apply nicely with the current style and tradition of Ezypay to help it grow. I felt a little bit embarrassed as it seems like my presentation is quite pointless in the end. Nevertheless, it is a part of me learning and growing in this company. By the end of the week, Pam showed me the test prints of the brochure and goal card from the printing house (Figure 3-0). The colors came out beautifully, but the sizing and cutting were a little bit odd. So I spent my Friday fixing sizing and preparing a better printing file for the printing company, to make sure they will not mess up my design. To summarize, this was quite a quiet and slow week. I feel like my progress is going very slowly. It maybe because I am a little bit sick at the point, but I know I need to try harder! I am looking forwards for what awaits me next week.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 4: Jul 7-11 This is the fourth week of my internship. For this week I was fully concentrating on creating a series of designs for the 31 Day Cash Flow Challenge campaign. This campaign is targeting the new business owners who interest on maintaining their cash flow effectively. By giving out a free guidance, Ezypay could increase our recognition and from there boost our reputation and customers. The campaign will be launch in August (which has 31 days). My task for this campaign is to produce a How to guide PDF, a downloadable document, for the business owners to download from the Ezypay website. In addition, a landing page has to be designed for the business owners to access to before they download the PDF file. I also had to produce 31 daily tips images that will be posted daily on social network sites such as Facebook, Linkedin, and so on. Facebook and Linkedin banner were also required for the campaign. The PDF guide was done within just two days of the week, as the idea and concept were pretty simple and easy to do. My colleague has done a draft for the first few pages of the PDF before the task transferred to me, which helped me to understand the required concept pretty quickly. After the PDF has done, I continue with the 31 daily tips images. This is a task that took me the rest of the week for the same reason with the goal cards design I did in the previous week. For this task, I have to read and understand the 31 day guide, find suitable images with decent quality (it was easier than the goal cards as these images are not going to be printed, therefore the quality only need to be 72 dpi),
enhance those images and then play around with typography for each and every piece of image. Pam and Celeste really like the general design and so far I did not have to fix anything much. Other than the main task, I also had to produce proper printing files of the goal cards, brochure and counter card for the printing company this week. As I and the printing company were sending email fourth and back, we had a lot of miscommunication, for I was not proper informed by them on how they want the file to be, and they kept on replying saying my design files was not right, without any sample, or a proper structure on how EXACTLY they want the file to be. After a few days, I finally figure out myself on what they wanted and sent the correct design files. The printings were delivered just a few days afterward but the color for the brochure and counter card were not the same as the test prints they sent to us last week, so Pam was quite unhappy about it. It probably caused by using a different printing machine and different material. For this week, our office had a quarterly launch. In the launch the CEO stepped up and told us about what the company have achieved and have not in the last quarter. He also listed out new aims for this quarter, let us know that things wil change in order to help the company grow. The company will have many more job positions as there are needs for testers and programmers as well as an internal communicator to help the company to have a better communicaton between each other. This is the first time I have ever attended such an important meeting, and I could really feel the seriousness within the casual talking (Figure 4-1).
55 / 56 Celeste and Trent (the CEO) have finished their 6 weeks helping out the KL team, and they flew back to Australia in Friday. Celeste will be continuing guiding our marketing team through Skype from Australia. She had been a really great addition for my 4 weeks internship experience, and I was quite sad that she left Malaysia, for how helpful she has been to me. She was not just simply a boss but also a friend, a model for me to learn from, and also a mother-figure that haf been taking care of me for the last few weeks.
To summarize, this was quite an eventful week. My work has been proceeding with a stable speed. Now Celeste is away from the office, I hope that would not affect Pam and I (for Celeste was a really big help for us). I am looking forwards for what awaits me next week.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 5: Jul 14-18 This is the fifth week of my internship. For this week I was continuing with the 31 Day Cash Flow Challenge campaign designs. I have manage to finished the last 2 images of the 31 daily tips images early this week. After done with the 31 daily tips images, I proceed straight to the next task of the campaign: The banners for Facebook and LinkedIn. Celeste had a look through the brief again after I have done with the banner designs and decided to change the main heading from “31 Day Cash Flow Challenge “ to “How to Improve Your Cash Flow In 31 Days”. Therefore, I had to change the PDF and the banners to reflect the new title. Also, Celeste gave a feedback on the banner designs that these look quite flat and uninviting (Figure 5-0), so she hoped to see them looking more alike to my daily tips images. As I finished redesigning the banners, Pam was really happy with the 31 daily tip images and the new banner designs. And so I continue with the last task of the campaign, the landing page. I had a little bit of trouble with it, as I do not have much experience designing website before, and I have no knowledge or sample design file to actually understand and apply the idea of 4 columns frame design as my colleague suggested. Nevertheless, I used the previous downloadable content pages in the Ezypay website (since the 31 Cashflow Tips PDF is also a downloadable content) as a reference for my design and measurement. As I tried out different designs for the landing page, Pam and
Celeste suggested me to check out some more ideas from the internet or tips from the web designers in the team as my designs were “not so attractive” and “not so Ezypay”. When I consulted with Cayla, a web designer in the team, she said the design looks just fine for her, so maybe all I needed to do was just adding in the header and bottom of the website so Pam and Celeste could really see a proper landing page our of my design. So I made some slight changes here and then, and attached final image on Trello card for reviewing (Figure 5-1). Other than the 31 Day Cash Flow Challenge campaign designs, I received a new task of finding 36 funny/inspire images on the fitness topic to edit, enhance and place our logos inside, to post on 3 different Facebook pages: Ezypay, iconnect360 and Fitness Industry Survey. Designing wise, it did not take me so long to finish it, but it cost me a bit of time on finding suitable images that has decent quality. Nevertheless, I managed to finish this task within a day. Earlier this week, I, Cayla and Pam went to check out a new location for the upcoming #DMM360 event by the end of this month. The location we went to called the Fluent Space, at Plaza Taragon Kelana, just opposite Paradigm Mall. This place is quite homey and has a nice feeling to it, in addition the manager guy was really friendly and helpful. Pam really likes the place, and considering having that place for the upcoming events in the next few months also. For this week I also managed to finish learning the SEO book, and proceed with taking notes and summarize the SEO Class Video. This video was taken during the

SEO class that held by Vincent in May 2014. It was not exactly a class, but more like a sharing session between him and some of my colleagues in iconnect360, therefore it involves quite a number of chatting, asking questions regarding personal projects and so on. There are 3 videos in total, and so far, I have
finished summarizing 1 video. To summarize, this week is quite short, partly because there was a holiday in Tuesday. Nevertheless, I have been working a lot with images lately, and I heard from Pam that I will be starting to work with video and animation soon. I am looking forwards for what awaits me next week.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 6: Jul 21-25 This is the sixth week of my internship. I started the week with finishing the tasks that were on hold from the previous week, which are summarizing the Vincent SEO class video and finalizing the landing page design. The previous design of the landing page was still not what Pam and Celeste looking for, so Pam decided to make a sample for me, and all I had to do was just following what she gave in the end (Figure 6-0). For this week I started a new project: an explainer animation video about the Fitness Industry Survey. The Fitness Industry Survey is a survey given out to business owners and gym members to collect the trends and predictions in the fitness industry, and us Ezypay turns them into infographs/reports and uploads them onto the Internet so the fitness clubs can use it to assist their business improvement. This video will appear on the Ezypay Fitness Industry website as well as company’s Youtube channel. So I started the project with getting ideas, writing script and drawing storyboard. As I received confirmation from Pam that the script and storyboard were all right, I get started with the graphic design for the animation on screen. Unfortunately, after
I have done about half of the graphic needed for the video, Pam had a look again at the script and decided to make some changes. For that I had to redo about half of what I have done. Communication can be really crucial, as I and Pam did not have a clear communication, the graphic design progress was slowed down. Anyway, by the end of the week, I managed to finish only half of the graphic for the animation, together with those that ends up not using due to changes in script and storyboard. For the fitness animation video, I also suggested to Pam to get someone to do the narration, and she arranged with Angus from the Australia office to do it. I did not really like the result though, as his voice sounds scruffy the the sounds were filled with noise. Pam said I should learn to work with problems as sometimes we just do not have a choice but trying to make the problem to look less like one. I decided to arrange with someone I know (who narrated for my animation before) this weekend for a voice recording session, hopefully I will get a better result. By the end of the week, I had to pack the brochures, counter cards and the goal cards into boxes to deliver to Anytime Fitness outlets. It was a lot to count and pack, as it is required
59 / 60
to have 200 brochures, 5 counter cards and 50 goal cards (10 for each design) in 1 boxes, and there were 8 boxes in total that I had to pack. I also had to count the remaining to pack up, notes, and put in the store room for future use.
To summarize, this week was an easy and relaxing week. Pam is figuring some new tasks for me next month, to maximize on things I could learn through this internship. I am looking forward on what’s ahead.

Week 7: Jul 30-Aug 1 This is the seventh week of my internship. It was a really short week due to Hari Raya Puasa (2 days holiday in Monday and Tuesday). I started the week with continuing the graphic for the FIS Video. I managed to finish all the designs by mid Thursday, and so I could get started on the narrator voice editing and preparing Illustration file for AfterEffect. As I mentioned earlier, I arranged with my friend for a recording session, so I have acquired another voice for editting. As I finished editing the voices from 2 persons, Pam and Celeste were still leaning over to the voice from Australia despite it being quite rushed and husky, simply because it has an Australia accent. Oh well, at least I tried. Figure 7-0
#DMM360 Event Facebook Post
Updating the Facebook Page with the latest event’s images
Other than that, the marketing team had another #DMM360 event in Wednesday night, right after the holiday. My job was to purchase stationaries and snack for the event together with attend and take pictures/ videos of the event. This time we had the event at Fluent Space in Plaza Taragon, just opposite Paradigm Mall. Although this place is quite homey and comfy, it lacks of natural light sources, so I had quite a trouble taking photograph here. The speaker for this event was David Lian from ZENO Group Malaysia, he shared with us about Story Telling in Marketing. It was a really interesting topic, and I learned quite a lot from the event. After the event, I was supposed to compile and edit images, which turned out to be quite a challenge as the images are really dark due to lack of light. However, due to the sudden urgent deadline for the FIS Video (next week’s Wednesday), this task was cut short and Pam simply used the images without the need of editing them. Surprisingly, they turned out looking pretty good from Facebook (Figure 7-0). It was a really short week. Nevertheless, I am really looking forward for the coming week as I will be animating the FIS Video.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 8: Aug 4-8 This is the eighth week of my internship. For this week I was concentrated mainly in finding background music and sound effects to animate the FIS Video. The animation was completed on time and successfully launched in Friday on the Ezypay’s Youtube. I also have uploaded it onto my Behance for my portfolio. Our design team in Ezypay had a design challenge within this week, where each of us had to prepare a presentation based on the topic of Online Content Promoting. After numerous of research, I decided to present about Viral Marketing under the help of social media (Figure 8-1). Celeste really likes my presentation, and commented that I have improved a lot since the last time I stood up and present about 2014 Design Trends in the previous month. All of our slides were collected by Celeste at the end of the week and uploaded onto Slideshare for others to view. Another job I had to do for this week after I have done with the animation was to learn about WordPress, update all the blog posts and remove the term “Ezypay” from the blog titles. This allows the blog posts to be opened to a larger target
market on the internet, as now consumers could receive access to the WordPress page without having to type the exact word ‘Ezypay’ into the search engine. Our company has released the engineering blog and the career page this week, and handed me the job of testing every single links in those pages, and making sure everything works fine. I have done a several test on both pages, hopefully I did not miss out any links. The blog and the page were done beautifully and I really like them (Figure 8-0). Lastly, I had to redesign the template for the company’s job description. The challenge for this is to design using just Microsoft Word, as Celeste’s request. I have done the first draft and now currently pending for review from Celeste on Trello. In Thursday, Pam asked me for a private talk over lunch. She offered me the graphic designer position in iconnect360 after I graduated, and if I could confirm with her early, she will not be taking other intern/designers in to fill in that position. She told me to think about the offer carefully, as she worries that I am being too comfortable with what I already have and miss out opportunities await me at other company/places. Nevertheless, I am excited over the job offer, and I really want to take this

chance, as I think iconnect360 is a great place to actually start off for a fresh graduated. If I could work in iconnect360, there would be a really high chance I will then move to Australia to work from that side later on, with
my brother also being there. It was a really busy and tiring week, but I really enjoy it, as it involve mostly on animating, which is what I love the most about design. I am looking forward for the week after. Figure 8-0

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 9: Aug 11-15 This is the ninth week of my internship. For this week, I had to compile and create a video of the July #DMM360 event and upload it to the Facebook page. The video was done and uploaded to the Facebook page in Tuesday. Together with the #DMM360 video, I also had to create a Facebook event page with images and banner to update and promote about the upcoming August #DMM360 event happening next week. By the end of the day, I was using Canva (an online design program that allows anyone to design anything) to create those Facebook advertising images as it was faster than using the traditional design programs in some way. As the #DMM360 event is becoming official, an official logo is required. I had a little bit of trouble coming up with logo ideas, as I did not know what the #DMM360 logo should be portraying. So I played around with the typography and color for the logo with no actual direction, and luckily, Celeste actually likes one of my draft logo. As soon as I received confirmation from Celeste and Pam, I finalized the logo and we will be using it for the upcoming #DMM360 event.
Ezypay decided to upgrade the license for WordPress this week, so there were lots of bugs appearing in the website. My job was to review all the iconnect360 and Ezypay websites and pages, generate an Error Log, then hand to Cayla for debugging, and then review it again. This circle goes on until there are no bugs left. This task took me and Cayla lots of time, as I had to make sure to check every single link there is, with button and images, and there are just so many pages iconnect360 and Ezypay are having. Some bugs kept appearing again after fixing another bug, so it was quite annoying and stressful. By the end of the week, I was briefed to design a Cultural Poster. It will be explaining what a company need to do in the business to get their values up and rocking. This poster will be placed in the delegate bag at The Business Growth Summit one-day-event in Sydney, 9th September 2014. I came up with 3 layout sketches and got one approved. Only then Pam told me she needs it to be done earlier than she confirmed with me before, which is by next week’s Monday. That appears to be impossible with the approved design in my opinion. I tried explained to Pam the problem, and she insisted to get it done ASAP. I guess I have design the poster throughout the weekend.

Chapter 05 / Weekly Summary
Week 10: Aug 18-22 This is the final week of my internship. In this week I continued doing review and bug fixing for all the iconnect360 and Ezypay websites and pages. At the same time I also was designing the Cultural Poster. As I could not complete the poster within Monday (just as I predicted), Pam extended the deadline to Wednesday. I had to stay back late for those few days to make sure I finish the poster on time. Neverthelesss, I am really happy with the outcome. And so I spent some time to update my portfolio on Behance with this poster. For this week, we have the August #DMM360 event in Wednesday night. Pam let me handling the event management, and so I had to make sure there are enough guests coming, everybody’s question is answered, there is enough food, pen and paper. It was a lot of work to do for me, as I was already busy with the web reviewing and value poster design, but I guess I managed it through. The event was a successful one, the place were actually packed with more than 30 people, and most of them wished to come back for the next month’s event (Figure 10-1). I also took care of taking images and videos during the event. As I have learned from the last event,
the images I took this time came out much brighter and clearer (despite the grain), and I made sure there were plenty of video footages for me to use this time. After the event have done, I had to select and edit those images taken to upload onto the Facebook Page. I also had to create an August trailer video and a full video to promote the event. So far, all the images and videos are done and uploaded on the #DMM360 Facebook Page and Youtube. This was the final week of my internship in iconnect360, therefore I had to clean up the computer and update the company server with my working files, so whoever that is going to work after me will be able to navigate and use them easily. Even when we were really busy with the #DMM360 event and web reviewing task, the Marketing team still arranged their time and gave me a celebrating lunch as this was my final week working with them. I also prepared some small gift for my team as a token of gratitude for them have been taking care of me for the last ten weeks. I had a really good time at iconnect360 and I hope to work here again in the future!

William also holds a BA (Computer Science) from the University Putra Malaysia.
Proposal “Agile is faster, better and cheaper, but…” By its very definition, the agile approach is all about flexibility and adaptability – with its final objective focused on helping businesses respond to unpredictability in the shortest timeframe possible. With its people-centred manifesto and recognition by Forbes as the “best-kept management secret on the planet”, agile software development has become the generally acknowledged superior method of developing good software – in theory. Why do the results of agile implementation vary from business-to-business and will today’s solution become tomorrow’s problem? Over a decade later since the agile manifesto was first launched in Silicon Valley, software companies in Southeast Asia are still struggling with reaping the rewards of implementing agile methodology in actual practices. Many of these are cloud-based software companies who practice everything popular about agile – i.e. test-driven development, scrum, continuous integration and pair programming. Unfortunately, these same companies also struggle with long working hours, constant rework, late deployment and poor functioning software. This presentation uncovers the challenges most Asian software companies face during agile implementation, especially when it comes to encouraging collaboration and visibility for a richer and more rewarding experience for teams and customers. We reflect on the agile manifesto and apply it to the company’s culture, employee skill-level and maturity by developing a customized development process and monthly release plan – all of which has produced amazing, consistent results.

Conclusion
Conclusion
It has been an incredible internship experience here at iconnect360. I really appreciate the way I was guided throughout the training by my supervisor Pam Cheing. Not only I have gained practical knowledge and real-life experience in the designing field, I have also managed to develop relationships with my colleagues and polished my social skill. I am pleased that my three months of internship broadened my mind even further and fully satisfied my enthusiasm to learn new things. All in all, this industrial training have opened my eyes to the real world for a graphic designer out there, and it has certainly prepared me for what is to come. This experience has strengthened my perceptions of the industry, and I am looking forward to be a part of it again upon my graduation.
