Accumulation of Considerations, Circulation of Recordings
8
Human beings are born for recording. The civilization and activities for recordings cannot be considered in separately. This is a process that the history is established, at the same time, the evidence for existence of community and human. The fundamental base of our behavior is the knowledges that was categorized through recordings, and the development of the media-from fresco, a clay tablet, a papyrus, type, paper, to digital elements-throw a sidelight on the importance of recordings. One recording ais not exist independently without other recordings. One of them is mechanism for producing other recordings, and the subject is human. They have produced new knowledges with utilizing the existing recordings, and the resultant have become a base not only for civilization but also producing new things. Eventually, sequence of production of knowledges and information make one connection like ring, and it is the impetus that occur the cultural improvement. In this sequence, the appearance of LIBRARY where people can keep and browse the recordings is an inevitable consequence. Regardless of the period, library was called as “the intellectual legacy” and keep the important status in the society, and the quality and quantity of books were regard as the criteria of the level of the community. It shows that library was not only just stores, but also the “intellectual symbol” in the community. 9

However, this kind of library is obsolete today-compared to the development of recording medias, the type of recordings kept in library is limited. Also, the development of the various media provides the chance to many people for accessing the information without an issue about time and place, and it bring the indicating the problem of the necessity of library. Therefore, library which has less people than ever is losing both the meaning of the place as medium, and the symbol as an intellectual community. The library in today needs new phase. Let’s go back to first and remind the process of knowledge production. The past when only small group of people possess exclusively a subject as producers, today anyone can declare themselves as the subject. Due to the weakened information barrier achieved by the development of technology, the LIBRARY is not mandatory course for “reproducing the information” anymore. Instead, the cities of today act as another barrier. It eliminates the place for considering and creating for people. Now, what they need is not “the storage of knowledge” but the places for utilizing the knowledge and creating new things based on it.
With this requirement, LIBRARY is changed from “the storage of knowledge” as a static space to “the process of reproducing of knowledges” as a kinetic space. The monumental part as a “intellectual symbol” is also charged with a more visualized role, that is realized. Now, the new phase of LIBRARY is the loop status, accumulation-utilizationcreation, and express the behavior of people occurred by it.

BACKGROUND & CONCEPT
17
According to the development of technology, the media for information storage was segmented in various way. Especailly, the development of internet led the rapid supply of e-book. As a result, original library as a physical space lost its status. Therefore, the question "what is the role of library in the future" should be necessary. Some of libraries already has been changed with the requirements. For example, Dakeo Library(Japan) set as a ragional famous spot by combining bookstore and cafe, although it is the public library. Seattle Library by OMA suggested the vision of future library with possibility of extension through module structure, and consideration about the chance of evolution by development of technology. In the case of Korea, COEX Starfield Library and Hyundai Card Design/Music Library received attention. However, former case was criticized because of unefficient space with nominal function compare the its luxury face. If the past library is "standing information well", the library in the future should be "sea of circulated information". If the function of original library was limited to accumulating the information(mainly book type), the coming library should have roles delivering the information which make people create new value(in various way). The new information as resultants would be accumulated in the library again, and invent loop delivered next generation. We define this sequence as "accumulating considerations : circulating recordings", and divide this loop in three part; accumulation, utilization, creation. In this library, the boundary between creators and consumers, the printed information and unprinted information becomes loosen. Variation of usual activities like making film by inspiration from books, making game by inspiration from movies would propose new aim of library in the future. 18

ACCUMULATION
27
The accumulation part is similar to original functions, the point of stacking information. However, it is different that it has not closed circulation but opened to other parts that makes loop in total. Furthermore, the types of information get diversity; not only book, but also music, performance, exhibition, video. Therefore, this part reflect the way how to these kinds of information materialized-theatre, showroom, gallery, audiovisual room-in the stereotomical shape which shows the accumulation in basic way, but has inner power. 28

UTILIZATION
33
The utilization part is the space responsible for the cognitive acceptance phase, which is the core of reading or information transfer. In addition to the reading room that the traditional library includes, this section consists of a braille reading room where braille books are expanded to the dimension of space, and a greenhouse reminiscent of a walk in the forest. A series of processes that begin in a traditional reading room and end in a forested greenhouse not only helps people acquire knowledge but also to embody it. 34
Braille books are losing their status due to the appearance of audio books. The Braille Reading Room presented here tells readers who can read Braille so that they can read four different endings on the wall depending on which path they choose as an interactive contents-interactive architecture. On the other hand, it also encourages people without visual impairment to experience Braille in total darkness as part of their spatial experience. 35

CREATION
41
The creation part is place for producing new knowledges based on utilized accumulation. Translated information through utilization session would be reinterpreted into new things, and this process is supported by various programme; makerspace, practice room, recording room, computer workshop space, writing room. The resultants from creation are moved to accumulation part, and it would be base for new circulation of knowledge. 42
Various inspiration accumulated in the utilization part is realized in the creation part. Accordingly, it could be expressed in various media; Adapted books, goods design and production, performance, video recording, application development, etc. The various types of recordings produced in the creation part are moved to the accumulation part in the loop system, waiting for the new recordings to be supported. 43
