The Restoration Apostle Sergio G. EnrĂquez O. Guatemala, June 10th of the Year of Abundance

Luk 10:30-37 (Voice) Then Jesus answered and said: A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. (31) Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. (32) And likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side. (33) But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. (34) So he went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. (35) And on the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come back, I will repay you. (36) So which of these three do you suppose was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves? (37) And he said, He who showed mercy on him. Then Jesus said to him, Go and you do likewise. We have already heard and read this story, and maybe we’ve heard some preaches about it. We need to consider some things, which are important of it; this man is very adventurous, because he lived in Jerusalem, and then he goes to Jericho looking for a better life. Possibly, arguing that his decision of moving of place to live was told by the Lord, situation that we can see in many cases among the Christians of today. This action gets depreciation, like the priest and the Levite did. They thought that the suffering of the man was a consequence for leave the church, and go to the world, they thought that his condition was all that he deserve. For this reason, they didn’t help him. Many of us were like that wounded man. Maybe, in some moment we leave the right way and the good things that God had for us, but we needed help. Nevertheless, we can analyze the attitude of the Levite and the Priest, sometimes we act like them with people that leave the church, and now they live in hard conditions. They get apart from the wounded man, leaving him alone. Then, the Samaritan appears, representing our Lord Jesus Christ, who was merciful and rescued him. This story calls us to restore others, people who leave the church. We cannot have the attitude of the brother of the prodigal son, which judge him and depreciate him for his decision of leave the place that God gave to him. Also, forgetting to give him a second chance. The thoughts of his brother should be in favor of the prodigal son, he needed to open his eyes to the work that God has made in his life throughout the process. We can be important elements and tools to restore others, so they can come back to God. It is not about the number of the people that has the church, not about his size. They need a real restoration in their lives, in the heart of the people that decide to get back to the house of the Lord, which need to be an eternal refuge and be fulfilled of the love of God. This needs an effort of everyone, so our life can be different. If someone feels unworthy of come back to God, to his house, let me tell you that our Lord, Jesus Christ, sees you with merciful eyes and he comes to look out for you, so you can come back to him. We need to be like the Samaritan, be his voice.
