In collaboration with Sumner Academy, a Kansas City high school, a team of 13 from Kansas State University conducted site visits and interviews in order to develop a master plan comprising of architecture, interior and product design solutions that would be implemented over a 30 year period. The master plan was divided into three phases implemented in decade segments. Each decade implementation had its own concept. The first concept was to ‘GROW’ and expand the school in order to better serve its growing student body. The second concept was to ‘EVOLVE’ and update the current learning environments to support specific teaching pedagogies. The third concept was to ‘UNIFY’ and operating the school in an egalitarian manner to unify students, teachers, administrators and the surround community. My responsibility was to develop an architectural solution and space planning, along with 3D modeling and rendering for the team.
