The Week of June 1-7th, 2014 The Ascension of the Lord All: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Gospel - MT 28:16-20 (stand) The eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had ordered them. When they saw him, they worshiped, but they doubted. Then Jesus approached and said to them, “All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age.” Prayer (kneel) Leader: Let us pray to God our Father: For each one of us, that we may be encouraged to live as true Christians at the thought of the great reward made ready for us in heaven, let us pray to the Lord All: Lord, hear our prayer. Leader: For discouraged Christians, that they may remember that Jesus is at their side at all times, and turn to him for strength, let us pray to the Lord. All: Lord, hear our prayer. Leader: Lord, make me stronger, stronger to do the right thing – the Christ-like thing – the next time when I’m in a hurtful situation. Help me be stronger to declare that my faith in you is the reason for my actions, stronger to even forgive those who insult me. Jesus, give me the courage to live out what I believe in my heart, and allow me the wisdom to know that it comes from you, let us pray to the Lord All: Lord, hear our prayer.

The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained.” Prayer (kneel) Leader: Let us pray to God our Father: Dear Lord, the disciples were all filled with the Holy Spirit All: Fill us with your Holy Spirit! Gospel - JN 3:16-18 (stand) God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. Prayer (Kneel) Leader: Let us pray to the Holy Trinity All: Glory be to the Father, Who by His almighty power and love created me, making me in the image and likeness of God. Glory be to the Son, Who by His Precious Blood delivered me from hell, and opened for me the gates of heaven. Glory be to the Holy Spirit, Who has sanctified me in the sacrament of Baptism, and continues to sanctify me by the graces I receive daily from His bounty. The Week of June 22-28th, 2014 The Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ All: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, Amen. Gospel - JN 6:51-58 (stand) Jesus said to the Jewish crowds: "I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world." The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever." Prayer (kneel) Leader: Let us pray to God our Father: For the humility to turn our hearts and minds to God on high and ask him for peace and unity through the forgiveness of our sins and for the salvation of our souls, let us pray to the Lord. All: Lord, hear our prayer. Leader: For the strengthening of the holy churches of God throughout the world and for their unity in faith, hope, and love, let us pray to the Lord All: Lord, hear our prayer. Leader: For all Christian leaders, that they may grow in wisdom and fraternal charity as they work together for unity of faith, the
healing of wounds caused by past divisions, and for Eucharistic communion, let us pray to the Lord. All: Lord, hear our prayer. We Go Forth Into the World – Live in Unity Leader: St. Paul challenged the Christians in Corinth to know in their hearts and to show in their actions that Christ has not been divided. He challenges us, too, to understand better the unity we already have in Christ. With everyone in all over the places who call upon the Lord Jesus Christ, All: Together, we are called to be saints. Leader: Graced by God in every way, All: Together, we give thanks for one another. Leader: Rich in the many blessings God has given us through our union in Christ, All: Together, we are not lacking in any spiritual gift. Leader: Sure in the God who strengthens us for love and service, All: Together, we affirm that God is faithful. Leader: Embraced by Jesus Christ, All: Together, we are called into fellowship. Leader: United in the same mind and the same purpose, All: Together, we seek to be in agreement. Leader: Overcoming our quarrels about the one who was crucified for us, All: Together, we belong to Christ. Leader: Has Christ, then, been divided? All: No! Jesus, our Lord and our friend, you have chosen us and brought us together in the Eucharistic Youth Movement. Open our hearts to your Heart, show us your face in the beauty of your resurrection, and walk by our side every day.
