very year after the MIPA Summer Journalism Workshop, I sit down with evaluations from hundreds of students. As I read through them, three phrases appear over and over again: • I love being in a place where everyone is excited about journalism. • I learned so much to bring back to my staff. • It’s so much fun, I don’t want to leave. If you want to know what MIPA camp is like, ask someone who went. Chances are almost 100 percent that they will tell you to GO NOW JUST DO IT WHY ARE WE STILL TALKING YOU NEED TO GO TO MIPA CAMP. For most people, getting to MIPA camp takes some planning. That’s why I made this paper. To help YOU experience “The best week of summer yet!” Follow these steps, and you’ll be on your way to spending a week with the coolest, funnest people from around the country. 3 EASY STEPS 1. Put it on your calendar Before you schedule family vacations and buy those concert tickets, put July 30-August 3 in your phone and on the family calendar. Protect that week!
