The Mircom Group of Companies Acquires United Export (“UEC”) The Mircom Group of Companies announced early August that its international subsidiary completed the acquisition of the business and operating assets of United Export, a distributor of a complete line of fire fighting and fire protection products. United Export joined the Mircom Group of Companies’ international division led by Victor Sebben, Vice President of International Operations.

Mircom Group Newsletter Installations 901 South Broadway, Blackstone Lofts, LA, CA A UUKL smoke control system is being finalized for installation with modifications to allow for LAFD AHJ approvals

Metropolitan Lofts, LA, CA Another UUKL Smoke Control system is under way and will be ready for installation in Oct-Nov. Financial Center of Birmingham, Birmingham, AL The Financial Center of Birmingham was retrofitted with a new MR2900 Secutron Fire Alarm System with voice evacuation system. At 18 stories tall, this was originally the tallest building in the downtown area. Since the building was occupied, the local authority fire marshal required that the existing fire alarm system remain 100% operational during the retrofit. Despite facing some obstacles, the retrofit was successful and installation was completed. A&M University, Huntsville, AL The retrofit specification for 5 dorms at A&M University was written around Secutron as a basis for design and standards. A-Metro Security started the project and worked with unique situations for device placement and installation. PepsiCo, Barrington, IL A Mircom FX-2000 system was used to replace a 10-Loop replacement SimplexGrinnell system at PepsiCo. The installation, change order and the annual test & inspection agreement was handled by Mircom staff with assistance from a local ESD- Security Unlimited as needed on the electrical installation. The Hudson, Victoria, BC The Hudson is a 152-unit residential project built within the 89 yearold walls of the Hudson's Bay building on Douglas Street, Victoria BC. This project was just completed with a Mircom FX-2000/ QX5000 system. This was a significant installation as The Hudson is one of the high profile heritage re-builds on the Island.

Andracsek. Based on the positive feedback Mircom made quite an impression and developed some great contacts with numerous Fire Protection Engineers and Fire Officials in attendance. Mircom Group Newsletter Events CANASA Atlantic Security Canada Atlantic is a premier security industry event drawing exhibitors and attendees from all over the Atlantic seaboard and Eastern Canada. Attendees and exhibitors attend to learn about new developments in products and services from a variety of suppliers in one place at one time; attend educational workshops, experience cutting-edge technology first hand, and network and exchange ideas with industry colleagues. Leo Baker represented Mircom at this yearâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s show held at the Ramada Crystal Palace in Moncton, New Brunswick on September 16. NSSMAC The Nova Scotia School Maintenance Tradeshow was held at the Best Western Glengarry in Truro on September 28, 2010. Leo Baker and John Harlow represented and showcased Mircom ES at this Atlantic region event.

Walters Tailgate Party Mircom was represented by Otulio Gutierrez and Richie Gomes at the 2nd annual Walters Tailgate Party.

International Fire and Security Association of India The Delhi Chapter of the Fire and Security Association of India (FSAI) conducted a two-day summit on Safety, security and Threats in Hospitality. FSAI National Secretary and Mircomâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s K.P Dominic- Director of Sales, India was present during the two day event (August 26 and 27) at the Intercontinental EROS, Nehru Place, New Delhi. The Chennai chapter of FSAI had a day seminar on Safety and Security on September 30, 2010. It was attended by Consulting Engineers, Government agencies, builders and end users. There were over 320 delegates from all over India. Speakers presented various papers on subjects related to the Fire Safety Industry.

Mircom Group Newsletter Events Mircom’s Annual Picnic and Bocce Tournament were held at the Veneto centre on September 10, 2010. Employees had an opportunity to enjoy a BBQ lunch, a beautiful setting complete with perfect weather and fun activities with their fellow colleagues. A Bocce tournament was organized for employees and the winner’s trophy was dedicated in memory of Nelson Tejada. Team 8 - John Mastromartino, Arcan Petrus, Harishkumar Gandhi and Rosa Principe got bragging rights for one full year as the winners of this year’s Bocce Tournament. A few lucky individuals also won exciting door prizes.

Mircom Group Newsletter Events Golf Tournament Mircom/ Gardia held its Annual Customer Appreciation Day as a token of its appreciation for their customers’ support and patronage throughout the year. The 15th customer appreciation golf tournament was held at the Carrying Place Golf & Country Club on Aug.10th, 2010.
