The project wants to create a link with the birthplace of F.Chopin, which is the focal point of the surrounding historic and monumental park, created in the 1920s. The wooden volumes contain the main room (650 seats), the small room and the block for offices and classrooms. They are integrated organically into the landscape. The materials and green elements are selected to achieve a harmonious composition and identity. 10

Starting from the architectural type “Casa di ringhiera”, the residential elements are conceived for the contemporary apartment building. The walkways in the facade are transformed from crossing spaces to outdoor rooms. In this way the exterior frame has mantained his social and accessory function. The city needs an Urban Park that combines environmental, social and economic aspects of contemporary city life. This goal will be achieved with a “ring” that integrates natural elements, transports and several neighborhoods. The park is designed as an interference of “moods” for events, relax, open air activities, playgrounds, urban farm and sport facilities. A free designed space for people to experience outdoor public life. 34

The executive project for the new urban platform was developed after winning the competition. The new city tool consists in 4 strips realised in Ipè wood sticks (7x14,5cm) on a hidden steel structure. The idea is simple but creative, modular, safe and easy to maintain. Different elements are designed such as seats, tables, bike holders, playground and fountains. The pieces will be assemblied in factory and rapidly set up in

How to rethink the build part of the city? The thesis consists in a method for future landscape scenarios into zero-soilconsumption cities. A lot of dismissed, abandoned and forgotten areas or building are today very common in every urban space. The first step is to identify them in order to make a catalog of places with information for public administration, private investors and future projects. 54

The “Kristiansand Cultural District” will offer oppurtunities for interesting synergies of art and education. The silo is transformed into a “mixing chamber”, a place of cultural exchange. The ground floor will host the reception areas, museum shop and cafè. In the upper levels there will be a continuous large contemporary art space that may be used for exhibitions, conferences and indoor festivals and the local art school. 62

Located in a village in the Krakow’s countryside, this new complex is a reinterpretation of local architecture archetypes. Details, materials and construction tradition are here used in a contemporary way into the rural landscape. This combination of a cowshed, a dairy factory, a shopping point, a teaching farm and private houses is a delicate attempt to reflect on architecture and relations in the countryside today. 70

The final part of the Pesaro’s river park is today a link between the historic city and its functional expansion. The project combines natural and built elements in order to achieve a hybrid system. The multifunctional central building in the harbour is designed by the landscape, the urban activities and port fluxes. The entire area and its borders are conceived like a public ground for dynamic and changeable city life. 72
