Student art center organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 8th | Specialistic studies Diploma work Podgorica, Montenegro

spaces

The main idea was to create a unique space with adequate facilities. This space is meant to contain objects of different character linked into a single unit, block, and the space between them. entrances

square

In this way, a square and an amphitheater within it were created. The square is raised in relation to ground level to the height of a storey height of the ground floor. On this plateau there are theater (acting), cinema (film), gallery (painting and sculpture), music salon (music and dance) and a restaurant.

envelope

Visitors access these areas from the inside, so they have to climb, while the employees and officials of the mentioned buildings approach from the outside, at the ground level. In this way, visitors are separated from employees.

buildings green spaces

The buildings generate a closed contour with their volume, because the whole complex is closed and introverted, while the space from inner side is more alive and more free. This principle is also present in floor plans and materialization. The outer contour of the object is covered with a mantle and wooden staves. On the other hand, building inside are transparent and alive, mostly covered with glass. Important parts of the complex are gaps between objects, with staircases, ramps and green spaces that rise to the surface of the square.

Refurbishment of residential building organization semester subject location team

Faculty of Civil Engineering 3rd | Master studies Sustainable concepsts of building design Maribor, Slovenia Mirko MugoĹĄa, Ä?orÄ‘e Mrdak, Hristijan Babuka

abstract

Theme of this project was to choose a residential building in poor condition and do the reconstruction process. The task was to make a new low-energy building using the principles of sustainable design. The basic concept of renovation of the building derives from detecting the pros and cons of the object - We decided to close the balconies on the north facade in order to reduce energy losses of the building - On the south facade glazing was increased due to increased solar gain and reducing energy consumption - The concept also includes upgrading and building with wooden structure (two floors, where we get three new apartments) The advantages gained after the renovation: ramp at the entrance, vestibule and bigger entrance part, elevator, bicycle storage in the basement, increased area of glazings on the south facade and sliding shades, new apartments and better use of roof.

Life revitalization of Wildon organization semester subject location team abstract

Faculty of Civil Engineering 3rd | Master studies Studio project Wildon, Austria Mirko MugoĹĄa, Ä?orÄ‘e Mrdak The idea of the project was to create a quality livable space, revive the city and connect two major nearby cities - Maribor and Graz. This was achieved by creating a residential block in zig-zag line. The block contains six buildings with 7 differnet kinds of apartments (apartments for people with special needs, elderly people, singles, couples, families and duplexes) distributed in accordance to the needs of the occupants. It is orienteted to all four sides, providing views to both hill and river in Wildon. All the apartments are organized very simply, and accordance with the standards of designing, with an emphasis on extra comfort of tenants. Special attention was given during the design of the apartment for the disabled. In addition to the carefully designed apartments, a very important element of the building is a large courtyard on the south. Sheltered from the noise and the views from the street, this area offers a variety of facilities: gardens for cultivating plants, flower fields, children playgrounds, green lawns with rows of trees, space for sport and recreation.

Revitalization of Duplek centre organization semester subject location team abstract

Faculty of Civil Engineering 3rd | Master studies Smart architecture Spodnji Duplek, Slovenia Mirko Mugoša, Đorđe Mrdak, Hristijan Babuka, Eva Bajec, Kaja Svetina The small village od Spodnji Duplek was without real centre, so in order to restore its identity, we designed place for meeting people and lot of happening that occure there. We analised the wider picture and decided to connect all important parts of village (school, kingergarten, agriculture centre and elderly home) into this centre. The result is big square with buildings that contains all that people need: sports centre, open market, restaurants and caffe shops, pharmacy, store, bakery and post office. In this way, people cuold continue to do their jobs and hobbies in the same way they did, but also share their products, experience and just meet with other more often.

Faculty of Civil Engineering 1th | Master studies Residential buildings Maribor, Slovenia Mirko Mugoša, Đorđe Mrdak

page 3/4 floor plan - ground floor street facade - S render

Vila block is designed in a very small location - the building occupies most of the free surface. It is designed simply, with an green atrium in the middle of which is access to housing through horizontal and vertical communication. Next to the building is ramp that descends to the basement where the garage and utility room are. On three levels above ground there are 14 apartments (studio, two bedroom apartments, three bedroom apartments, duplexes and apartment for people with special needs). All apartments are luxuriously equipped by the standards to satisfy all kinds of comfort.

Fine art academy organization semester subject location team abstract

Faculty of Civil Engineering 1rd | Master studies Methods and concepts of town planning Maribor, Slovenia Mirko Mugoša, Đorđe Mrdak, Hristijan Babuka The aim of this project was to revitalize area around the historical monument in the city, as well as to build new facilities. This space was converted into a square, and for the building, we opted for art school, like something that city misses. The entire complex is designed to take advantage of the empty space below the square, so we connect it to the object. The building is on the corner with the goal to become a new landmark of the city. The ground level is the public space, while the upper storey are filled with classrooms, studios, and rooms for exibitions, as well as profesores' offices and administration.

3

The building has a playful volume and a number of materials, while the square is divided into strips, and interspersed with circular openings. With these interventions we wanted to create more interesting project, as well as to create inspiring space for artists.

Elderly people home organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Civil Engineering 1rd | Master studies Studio project Maribor, Slovenia The main idea can be seen in the functional and formalistic aspect. Function is defined by three parts: the ground floor with public facilities (featured horizontal) units for the home and units for apartments for the elderly (shape triangle). Both of these two units are divided into two subunits - two prismatic cube facing in opposite directions. To the south side location is access to the building, on the north park facing the forest where old can stay, fenced facility from the noise and traffic. Form object follows the very function. There can be clearly observed ground floor and said cubes that are placed on it. The shape of a triangle and crisp, sharp lines emphasize the dynamism and vibrancy of the object. The division into units is made and the materialization: ground floor is covered with wood and glass, while the rest of the units are coated with steel net and have an open, green terraces.

Business Incubator organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 8th | Specialistic studies Interior design Podgorica, Montenegro This interior project was an interpolation in one of the most dense parts of the city. It was quite a challenge to insert new design into old surrounding. The incubator is two-store building, with two different areas. The lower one is for public use (exibition room and shop) and kitchen with terrace. The upper is for work. It is designed for architects, painters and graphic designers. All of them have their special ''offices'', but also there is common space and small conference room. Whole space is determined by wooden tables that are perforated and can move, openning or closing different parts. Materials used on floor and walls are concrete, perforated metal and bricks. The furniture is mostly from wood, and the most used colours are white, red, yellow, blue and black.

Hospital organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 7th | Specialistic studies Health facilities Cetinje, Montenegro The task was to create new health care facility in the place of the old one. We had to respect the extreme climat condition of this mountain city. The building is conceived as triangle in order to have inner cortyard. There is also one pavillion that intersects it and connect one edge with the longest part of the triangle. Entrances are placed in this intersected points, wherefrom one can reach any medical service - dentist, nursery, emergency, maternity hospital... The surrounding of the object is green and peaceful, therefore in landscape architecture is present a lot of trees and green areas for resting and enjoying the nature.

Garage + square organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 7th | Specialistic studies Public buildings Herceg Novi, Montenegro The task was to create new garage and public square in the place of old parking. The idea was to design an interesting public space for citizens, while implementing it into existing rich vegetation and opening the views to the sea. The terrain has several levels, so upper level was used to reach the square and the buildings on it, and lower level was used to reach the entrance of the garage which is under the square. The bulidings (caffe and gallery) are raised above square, so they can provide shade and also clean space under it. Everything is designed in mediterranean style, with white colour, stone and a lot of plants.

Tennis venue organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 6th | Bachelor studies Public buildings Podgorica, Montenegro The inspiration for the building came out of the elements of tennis court, rectangular shape and structure of net. The location is situated on one of the main backbone of the city, due to increased prominence and measurability of the building. The initial idea is a rectangular base clearly resolved, with clear and simple order of all elements (base field), and mantle, the envelope that covers the entire building (net). The building is designed as a tennis hall with commercial facilities (restaurant, bowling, archery, squash, table tennis, gym, mini shopping center) with the aim of sustainability. These activities are clearly differentiated physical and are easily reachable. Through the object is pulled a hole, as input plateau from which the visitor is directed to the hall and commercial facilities.

Commercial building organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 6th | Bachelor studies Public buildings Podgorica, Montenegro The organization of the building was quite strict from the very beggining of the design process. The building is separated on two parts connected with small passage. ''Lower'' part is longitudinal, has more storeys and is used for standard offices. ''Upper'' part is shaped like square, has two levels (plus the garage in the basement) and is used for big meetings, like conferencies and congress. The materialisation follows the strictness of floorplans in order to show level of severity and power.

City square organization semester subject location team abstract

GIZ 5th | Bachelor studies Workshop Plav, Montenegro Mirko MugoĹĄa, Ä?orÄ‘e Mrdak Our task was to create a square and to give Plav unified character and personality, which it lacked. During the organization and square development we were influenced by the functional, cultural, natural and social factors. The basic element of the square is pavement. Square mimics the environment, cascading fields that go towards the lake, so the pavement are leveled and determine the line of movement. Similarly, the roofs of the surrounding buildings follow the lines of mountains and hills, highlighting the front of the lake.

Faculty of Architecture 6th | Bachelor studies Hospitality buildings Bar, Montenegro Located in the city centre, hotel contains all programs needed for optimal functioning. Its main attributes are accommodation (different kind of rooms and apartments), congress centre, restaurant and spa centre on the last floor. The entrances for visitors and employees are clearly separated, therefore the hotel can be also visited by people who are not guests. The courtyard with few sport fields is connected to the city park. In this way, the hotel is better intergrated with the city. When it comes to materialisation, the main goal was to create a game with cubes on the front faces. This was achieved with different shapes and combining concrete and wood.

Faculty of Architecture 5th | Bachelor studies Industrial buildings Podgorica, Montenegro Baking center is a large complex containing the factory for the production of baked goods for the entire city. In addition to the factory, the complex is served by a variety of support facilities and is surrounded by a fence. The factory itself consists of two clearly differentiated parts. A smaller part is space for the workers (cloakroom and restaurant) as well as for the employees in the administration. It is designed by the system of clean corridors, with control of entry and exit, so that the level of hygiene in the object is at the required level. The bigger part is for production where there are three parts - space for raw materials, production halls and space for packaging and storage. This hall has a large range and is made of steel structural system, as opposed to the smaller part which has a reinforced concrete construction.

Elementary school organization semester subject location abstract

Faculty of Architecture 4th | Bachelor studies Educational buildings Nikťić, Montenegro The main idea was to create quality space for childrens education, where they could study in the best way, but still fill free, like at home. The concept is simple - three horizontal lamelas are intersected with one vertical that serves like communications and places of meeting and gathering aswell. Every pavillion is ment for some specific group of children or subjects (upper is for the youngest, middle is for the natural science and languages, lower is for fine arts and sports hall). In this way, the space is better organised which is good for both children and teachers. The space outside is defined by tha ''pockets'' created by the pavillions. They follow the cascade terrain from the location, creating terraces for children.
