Full Moon Party Globe Invitation and Decoration (page 2 of 4) Supplies • 2 pieces of white or light-colored card stock, 8.5 x 11 inches • Scissors • Bone folder • Straight edge (such as a ruler) • Paper glue (I used Elmer’s, but Aleene’s Tacky Glue is a better choice) • About 24 inches of string or cord • Very long needle Instructions 1. Print pages 3 and 4 of this project sheet onto card stock. 2. Cut out the two plain rectangles and the two moon faces from page 3. 3. Cut out the 20 circles on page 4. 4. Write your invitation on the blank rectangles and decorate as desired. 5. With your bone folder and straight edge, carefully score and fold along each of the triangle lines on the 20 circles. These folded areas are called “tabs.” 6. Glue the folded tabs of 5 circles together (marked as “A” in the photo below). Repeat with another 5. (These are the “top” and “bottom” units.) 7. Glue 10 circles together (marked as “B” in the photo below). (This is the “10-piece” unit.) 8. Glue the “top” and “bottom” units to the “10-piece unit,” carefully matching the tabs all the way around. You now have a globe. 9. Thread a long piece of cord through your needle and insert it from the “south pole” up through the “north pole.” Leave about 10 inches on either end. Tie a knot just under the “south pole” to keep the globe in place. (You can use a drop of glue if you like.) 10.Glue the two moon faces back to back at the bottom of the string. (You can make the string as long as you like – if you make several, vary the string lengths for variety.) 11.Glue the two rectangles back to back above the globe, making sure to leave enough string above the rectangles to be able to tie the globe decoration to a tree branch (or whatever). Note: If you send the globes as invitations, instruct everyone to bring their invitations so you can hang them as decorations at your party.

Full Moon Party Globe Invitation and Decoration (page 3 of 4) Additional Suggestions • After you assemble your globe, use spray glue and glitter to make it shiny. • Make several globes, and before assembling them, put them around light bulbs on one of those strands of tiny white lights. • Make the globes out of a variety of colors of card stock and use them as Christmas ornaments. • For an easier and smaller version, glue only 8 circles together following the basic instructions on the previous page. You’ll have just a top and bottom unit, each with 4 segments.
