Managingthecompany’sstrategy,operations,and leadershipmeansbalancingalong-termvisionwithwhat needstobedoneeveryday.Thesepasttwoyearshave beenaboutresilience,learning,andsacrifice.AsSAFA’s leader,Ispendalotoftimethinkingaboutleadership, andourpeople,andlearningfromourmistakes.

Strategically,IfollowaphilosophylikeKaizen—always tryingtoimproveeverythingwedo,eveninsmallsteps. Ifocusonmatchingourgoalswithwhatthemarket needsandbuildingpartnershipstoexpandourreach.

MR:Asawomanintech,whatchallengesdidyouface inyourcareerjourney?Howdidyoutacklethem?

Andrijana:Asawomanintech,thechallengesIfaced earlierinmycareerweredefinitelymorepronounced. Beingyoungandambitioussometimesexposedmeto bias.I’vehadthemisfortuneofworkingwithindividuals whoreinforcedthatbias,butI’vealsobeenincredibly fortunatetohaveworkedwithpeoplewhobelievedinme andsupportedmyjourney.Thosealliesmadeasignificant difference,andI’mdeeplygratefulfortheir encouragementandmentorship.

Ibelievebiasesexistinmanyfields,notjusttech,and whiletheycanbediscouraging,I'vealwayschosento focusonwhatIcancontrol.Evenwhenthingswerehard, Irefusedtogiveup.Instead,Ilookedforbetter,more creativewaystoapproachchallengesandstrovetodeliver meaningfulworkthatmadeanimpact.

Whatdrovemethroughthosemomentswasadeepbelief inthevalueofmycontributionsandadeterminationto provethatsuccessisn’tlimitedbytraditional expectations.Overtime,I’velearnedthatresilience, creativity,andstayingtruetoyourvisionaresomeofthe besttoolsforovercomingchallenges—intechor anywhereelse.

MR:WhatdoesthefutureholdforSAFA?Whatare someofyourkeygoalsandplansforthecomingyear?

Andrijana:SAFAisstillgrowing,andwehaveexciting plansfor2025.Oneofourmaingoalsistoexpandour teambybringinginmoretalentedpeopletohelpusmove forward.

We’realsopreparingforthenextSAFACon,buildingon thesuccessofourfirstconferencetomakeitevenbetter forthecybersecuritycommunity.Whilewe’vemadegood progressincreatingstrongcompanyprocesses,Ibelieve wecanalwaysimprove.

Andrijana:I’llbehonest—Ihaven't completelyfiguredoutwork-lifebalance! Startingabusinessmeansmakingsacrifices, andfindingbalancehasbeenabig challenge.However,I’velearnedtotake timeoffduringNewYearandsummerto rechargeandfocusonwhat’smost important:myfamilyandclosefriends,who havebeenincrediblysupportive.

Besideswork,ItrytomaketimeforthingsI enjoyandthathelpsmerelax.Ilovereading wheneverIcan,butsometimesIjustenjoy aquietnightwithNetflixanddoingnothing. IevendidaSpartanRacewithsomeofmy SAFAcolleagues—itwasfunand memorable.Ialsolikespendingtimein nature,doingpuzzles,andlearningnew things.

Findingbalanceisanongoingprocess,butI thinkit'saboutenjoyingthemomentsyou haveandgivingyourselftimetorechargein whateverwayfeelsright.

MR:Whatadvicewouldyougiveto youngwomenwhoareconsideringa careerinthetechindustry?

Andrijana:Myadvicetoaspiringwomen intechissimple:nevergiveup,andtrustin yourownpotential.Insteadoffocusingon externalbarriers,turninwardandbelievein yourabilitytoovercomechallenges.I've alwaysapproachedlifewiththemindset thatnothingisimpossible,andIfirmly standbythat.Ifyouhavethewillandthe couragetopursueyourgoals,there'salways awaytoachievethem—oftenthrough creativityanddetermination.

Gointothisfieldwithyourwholeheart,and buildresiliencealongtheway,because you’llneedit.Thisindustryhashistorically beenmale-dominated,butmoreandmore womenaremakingtheirmark,provingthat webelongherejustasmuchasanyoneelse.
