This class is your first step to learn Japanese. There will be a total of four sessions in Feb. and March.

Japanese Cooking Class

Pre-Separation Brief

Wednesday, Feb. 1 | 9–11:30 a.m.

Required brief for all military personnel retiring/separating NLT 365. Information on entitlements/ benefits members may be eligible for when transitioning to civilian life. Spouses/ significant others are welcome and encouraged to attend on a space-available basis.

Reintegration Workshop

Friday, Feb. 3 9–11 a.m.

Required within seven days of return to home station for deployed personnel, and prior to beginning R&R. Spouses are highly recommended to attend. Uniform not required.

Remote Tour Brief

Mondays | Feb. 6, 13 & 27

10–11 a.m. | 1–2 p.m. | 2:30–3:30 p.m.

Required for military members, with dependents, who are projected to PCS to a remote location where dependents will not join the military member. Brief must be completed no earlier than 60 days from scheduled departure.

VA Appointment

Tuesday, Feb. 7

A representative from the Veterans Affairs Office is available monthly for individual appointments for assistance with VA-related questions. Walk-ins are welcome. To sign up contact M&FRC for VA Advisor information.

Sponsorship Training

First Tuesday of the Month | Feb. 7 1–2 p.m.

Learn the ins and outs of being a Sponsor at Misawa Air Base. Gain access to official training, resources and tips to help welcome incoming members successfully.

TAP Transition Workshop

Monday, Feb. 6–Wednesday, Feb. 8 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

Required for all military personnel retiring/separating. Members can participate as early as 36 months after completing Steps 1 & 2 pre-requisites and no later than 90 days prior to retirement/separation. The workshop consists of one day of training by the Department of Defense, one day of VA Benefits and Services briefings, and a one-day Department of Labor employment workshop.

Employment Workshop

Thursday, Feb. 9–Friday, Feb. 10 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

This course presents a comprehensive view covering best practices in career employment, including learning interview skills, building effective resumes, and using emerging technology to network and search for employment.

Tax Preparation For Service Members

Thursday, Feb. 23

11 a.m.–Noon

Learn the basics of filing your state and federal tax returns. This class will address terminology you’ll see when preparing your tax return, as well as resources available to help you file your returns for FREE.

Boots to Business

Thursday, Feb. 23–Friday, Feb. 24

9 a.m.–4:30 p.m.

This course is for those interested in exploring business ownership or other self-employment opportunities. Participants learn about evaluating business concepts, developing a business plan, the resources available to access technical assistance, start-up capital, contracting opportunities and more.

Bundles for Babies

Tuesday, Feb 28 9–11 a.m.

Learn about parenting and financial skills to help you budget for your new baby. The Air Force Aid Society sponsors this event by giving out a FREE $50 dollar gift card to each family.
