Join us as we participate in the Great American Campout™! We'll set up camp at Leftwich Park, have corn hole boards set up, tug-o-war and so much more. So bring your tents and camping stoves, or rent some from ODR, and join us for a night under the stars on base.

MT. IWATE HUT OVERNIGHT BACKPACKING

Join the team as we challenge ourselves to overcome this monster of stone and soil. Experience backpacking in true Japanese fashion by overnighting in a primitive mountain hut, viewing the evening stars, cooking what you carry and feeling the new day’s first ray of sunshine kiss your face on the summit of Mt. Iwate.

MT. AZUMA-FUJI

Join us as we visit Mt. Azuma-Fuji, Goshikinuma Lakes and Omoshiro Valley. This adventure will be full of picturesque views and scenic walks. This is a perfect summer trip as we'll see waterfalls, cool off in rivers and explore all that Japan has to offer.

Kayak And Camp

Enjoy a weekend of kayaking out on Lake Towada. We will start on one side of the lake and work our way around. We will stop for the night at one of the local camp sites and enjoy a night of camping and relaxing by the fire before we continue our journey around the lake.

MT. CHOKAI HIKING

Located on the border of Akita and Yamagata Prefectures, this stand-alone mountain faces the Sea of Japan. It's the Tohoku region's second highest peak after Mt. Hiuchiga-take and has been selected as one of Japan's 100 most famous mountains.

FAMILY CAMP & KAYAK

Enjoy a weekend of kayaking and camping as a family. We will kayak at Odanai Pond and then camp at a local campground. At night, join the family around the fire to cook a meal and play games.

MT. MITSUISHI HIKE & CAMP

We are heading into the volcanic mountain of Northern Japan to hike through lush forest and rock- capped peaks. Be sure to stay close to our mountain guide to catch all of the local area knowledge that he loves to share. When our legs are tired, we will return to the valley of onsens to reset and recuperate in the hot local waters prior to heading back to camp for the night.
