ESSAY Cultural Heritage Cultural heritage have always been an important part of the history of countries and they have to be preserved. Some people think that countries spend a lot of money on their heritage while others think they do not. In my opinion, it would be a good thing that countries spend this money protecting their history. Governments should focus on preserving the culture, transmitting knowledge to future generations, and encouraging people to visit touristic places. The first point I would like to make is spending money to protect our culture. Over time, many things are changing. We are looking for adaptation, and sometimes we adopt behaviors from other places. Somehow this is an advantage but at the same time, this is a disadvantage. For example, each place is different and if we lose our cultural heritage we will only be one more place, with nothing that makes us unique. For this reason, we must maintain this. Our cultural heritage is what reminds us that we should not lose the customs and traditions that define who we are and what makes us unique. Another reason to continue taking care of our cultural heritage is to preserve it for the new generation. First, this allows us to know about our ancestors and their lifestyles. For example, many ancient places have their own history. If these places are lost, stories and everything related to those places will also be lost over the time. This knowledge is very valuable to strengthen our identity. To learn about the past and to transmit it from generation to generation. Another reason to continue maintaining our heritage is to encourage tourism. To attract tourists to our country or city we need to have something that attracts attention, something unique. The best we can offer is our heritage as it is unrepeatable. With the arrival of more tourists to a country, the advantages would also come. For example, more sources of economic income would be generated for people since there would be more work. That is why countries should spend money to take care of these places so that these places continue being maintained and they do not deteriorate over the years.
10
In my point of view, countries should spend more money to preserve their heritage. This would help preserve the past and customs, nurture knowledge to people about the identity of a place and promote tourism to generate more income in one place.

ESSAY: LIVING ALONE VS. LIVING WITH SOMEONE ELSE One of the most important decisions is choosing whether to live alone or with someone else. Some people claim that living with someone else is better than living alone. Nowadays, more people are deciding to live alone for some good reasons. The main advantage is that you can learn to be responsible. You have to take care of every single thing like your health, your household chores, even your money. In addition, living alone is great because you can do things the way you like. For instance, you can decorate your department and decide if you want pets or not. In contrast, there are some people that prefer to have a roommate. The main reason why people prefer being accompanied is because they can share and divide the costs of the rent, food and other services. In that way you can have someone to support you when you have a low income or when you do not have a job. Another advantage is that by sharing an apartment you can learn how to get along with other people. You can learn to live with your roommate by being tolerant and respectful with other people's opinions and likes. To sum up, there are arguments in favor of living alone or with someone else. I think there is not right option, it depends on each person's needs. People have to be aware of their economic situation in order to choose the best option for them.

How to calculate your FCE results? The B2 First (FCE) is an exam which evaluates separately the four language skills (speaking, writing, reading and listening) and use of English. A B2 First qualification proves you have the language skills to live and work independently in an English-speaking country or study on courses taught in English. The exam length is about 3.5 hours. The five results are averaged to get a final result and make it easier to determine your score on the Cambridge English Scale, your grade and your CEFR level for the overall exam. So, if you get 180-190 you get grade A and level C1; if you get 173-179 you get grade B and level B2; if you get 160-172 you get grade C and level B2; if you get 140-159 you get grade B1 and level B1. The exam can be taken in paper or computer. So, if you took a paper-based exam, your certificate will be sent to your centre seven to nine weeks after the date of your exam. On the other hand, if you took a computer-based exam, your certificate will be sent to your centre five to six weeks after your exam date.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Years ago, I read this book at school, for my French class. I remember enjoying it a lot. The recent re-read in English fared less well: I was underwhelmed. (ATTENTIONGRABBING INTRODUCTION) The Little Prince is a very short book about a man (the author) who crashes his plane in a desert in Northern Africa. He is all alone until a little man shows up, who claims to be from a different planet. The little man, a prince, tells him about his own (very small) planet, and about the planets he has visited before he reached Earth. (BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE BOOK) While this is a children’s book, there are clearly some important life lessons in the book to be appreciated by adults as well. The book contains a lot of drawings made by the author himself. (WHAT THE PERSON LIKED) The idea is cute and I remembered this as an imaginative and charming story. This time around, I found it repetitive (the prince goes to this planet, that planet) and too unbelievable. For instance, the prince lives on a very small planet – to see the sunset after having just seen a sunset he only has to walk a few meters. The idea is fun, but it’s too far removed from a possible reality. (WHAT THE PERSON DID NOT LIKE) So, while I liked some of the ideas in the book, the overall opinion was just so-so. Most people love this (as I did, years ago), so don’t let me put you off! (CONCLUSION)

7. Reflexión Studying in the Languages Program at UTA University, requires a lot of effort since we learn something new and important every day. This acquired knowledge will be essential in our future job as teachers. This semester I had the opportunity to take Advanced English II as part of this Program. However, I would like to explain how this subject contributes to achieve the competencies of the exit profile and the UTA’s Educational Model. This subject Advanced English II contributes to achieve the objectives and competencies established in the exit profile in many ways. This subject has given me the opportunity to generate meaningful learning scenarios giving rise to participatory research. Thus, I had the opportunity to solve problems through teamwork but also individually. In addition, this subject prepares us to take an international Exam (FCE). So, I learned more about the four English skills (reading. listening, writing and speaking). Finally, this was an essential subject because it teaches us how to deal with some things that in the future as teachers we have to face. Regarding this subject and the UTA’s Educational Model and how both of them are associated. I would like to mention that this Educational Model is a representation of the ideal human being and professional that is intended to be formed. Specifically this subject Advanced English II has taught me how to deal and solve real problems through the practice of values but also through team work activities. In addition, this subject help us by giving us the chance to discuss about these interesting topics and propose solutions or give recommendation. As a conclusion, I have to mention that Advanced English II is an important subject and a step to become a teacher. This subject help me to reach some of the competencies mentioned on the exit profile but also to reach the goals of UTA’s Educational Model.
