introduction
WHERE is the second artwork created especially for Poetik by Miskat Qinan. After having GRID installed during the second round, Nur Moo has asked Miskat to return once again with a new piece. The result is WHERE, which in part may be considered the sequel of GRID. This document will provide context and imagery about the work. The work can be seen at Poetik (in Second Life) between October 2009 and January 2010.

WHERE is conceived from something that seemingly contradicts itself. In life we often look for more balance, more structure. Yet, when we find that we wish for more adventure. What is it that we want and need? And can we somehow find middle ground that satisfies both needs? WHERE acts on these questions without giving answers. >
< The installation invites the visitor into a garden. However, it will take a moment to realize this as the garden is made out of grid. The grid makes it difficult to navigate and forces the viewer to look twice before being able to identify the separate elements and will step almost unnoticed into the labyrinth, getting trapped between the walls having to find their way out again. Grid, a symbol of structure and balance is suddenly what causes chaos.

Poetik is the project of Nur Moo. It features a build of Hern Worsley and art of a variety of artists working within Second Life. On a regular base the work changes and for the third round, starting October 2009, Nur has selected a new group of artists to feature their work. Next to the artwork an essential element to Poetik is Poetik Party: Regular events with the best djâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s of SL, playing randomly in the region, in the artworks or special event locations. Poetik has grown into one of the art and event meccaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s of SL. [poetik]

While the work is a creation of Miskat Qinan, Alpha Auer has provided skins available for free to each visitor of WHERE. Alpha has used the templates of Eloh Eliot to realize this. Alpha Auer is a well-known artist and content creator who Miskat has come to known via her works at Poetik and now gladly calls a friend.
