with shared values who support one another. We cultivate deep connections in learning and life that inspire students to reimagine accomplishment in whatever future they choose. “By the end of my first week at Hackley, not only had I made friends, but I discovered that I was now part of a community with teachers who really care and activities that extended well beyond the classroom. All around me, I see qualities in students that I admire and want to emulate.” –Sam, 8th grade When students embrace different viewpoints, ideas, and experiences, authentic learning happens, and they become more engaged and compassionate citizens of the world. “It is not our job to tell students what to think, but rather to teach them how to ask questions, gather the necessary information, and then formulate their own thoughts. Being a diverse community is one aspect of the challenge issued by our mission statement. Moving beyond diversity, it is critical that we be an inclusive community.” –Michael Wirtz, Head of School
At Hackley, we are committed to delivering on our mission—learning from varying perspectives and backgrounds in our community and the world—by creating a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community.
