About Green Power Solutions Green Power Solutions was founded by Thomas Gately in 2006 and is an incorporated company in the state of New York headquartered in Manhattan and having service locations out of Queens, Long Island and New Jersey. Green Power Solutions is a fully listed installer in the following states and jurisdictions: NYSERDA (NY State), PA Sunshine Program, MA Clean Energy Program, Wisconsin and in the process of adding others. Through various strategic partnerships throughout the Northeast and indeed the country, we also have access to other state programs and licenses as needed to develop and/or install projects. Although Solar PV and solar thermal are Green Power Solutions’ primary activities, the company also provides commercial fuel cell solutions and combined heat & power in conjunction with a partner – Green Power being primarily responsible for project development and arranging financing. Green Power Solutions also does residential energy audits and provides energy efficiency solutions such as insulation, energy monitoring and lighting solutions. Thomas Gately has been involved in the solar industry since about 2002 having started as an installer for a number of solar contractors in the Tri-state area. He has worked in just about all aspects of project implementation including the mechanical and electrical installation, roof preparation, repair and replace, utility interconnection, site assessment, project design and development. Thomas also enjoys teaching solar design and implementation part-time at the City University of New York (CUNY) and for other institutions. Thomas is also actively involved in the development of a number of solar / sustainability non-profit projects and organizations such as with Global Green Aid and Strive for Solar. Green Power Solutions has approximately 3 core activity teams consisting of project design (structural engineering, architectural design, electrical design), project development (admin, permits, interconnection , financing etc.) and installation/integration (mechanical & electrical install, project management). We have a full dedicated team of designers, engineers, master electricians / plumbers, install technicians and consultants ready for your project to design and build your system to the highest standards that will last for years to come.

About Green Power Solutions Mission Statement To deliver the best quality sustainable solutions to the residential, commercial, industrial, non-profit and government sectors. To present courteous knowledgeable consultants, designers and install technicians throughout the full process – contracting, design and construction. To take an environmentally responsible and holistic approach to green solutions that we recommend. Therefore, we look at the efficiency of your building and its internal energy loads system and make not just recommendations on renewable energy technologies but also on how to reduce overall energy needs and demand by efficiency and monitoring. To tackle complicated projects that most other solar integrators will not consider taking on. We are renowned for constructing challenging systems, custom designed systems that require additional reinforcement above and beyond normal installation requirement such as full coverage car port structures, on roof canopies riding over AC and other equipment, split solar thermal systems for hot water, heating and pools, off-grid and emergency back-up power systems.
Our Guarantee We are a very detailed oriented team. Since solar modules are warranted for 25 years and modules are designed and expected to last at least 30 years, we design and install the rest of the system with the best materials to last that same period.

This 28kW Unirac Large Array (ULA) Racking Structure is installed on the roof of a 5 floor Disabled Home Center in Island Park, Long Island, NY. Despite the building height and system exposure on the Atlantic shore, it is designed to withstand minimum of 110 mile per hour winds. This elevated structure enabled us to install the system above all the various roof vents and HVAC ductwork on the roof while also leaving roof for roof and mechanical equipment servicing. This ULA System can also be used for Ground Mount Installations. Note the old power generating plant in the background. Out with the OLD in with the NEW!!

System Designed to offset 100% of the Landlord’s Common Building Charges. Racking system uses flanges as bases that are penetrated directly into wooden roof rafters approximately every 4’-6’. The roof penetration holes are injected with silicon sealant as lag bolts are driven down into holes and a mesh add between the hole point and flange. Finally, a rubber sticky-back “patch” with soft reflective top is pressed around the flange & upright pole. 2” Schedule 40 Galvanized Steel tubular upright pipes and bracing is used to build the framing system.
