A camp experience like no other! Join the high-energy staff as they lead the kids in camp songs, games, crafts, drama, and hilarious adventures that stretch the imagination. The 3-5 year old group is a perfect first-time camp experience, with plenty of preschool aged socialization time. 5-year-old children who have not yet been to kindergarten belong in this group. All campers must be toilet trained.

Junior Leader
The Junior Leader Programs are designed to provide experience and training to youth ages 12 – 17, in a fun learning environment. Junior Leaders are responsible for assisting our Recreation Leaders for Camp Kids and Camp Have a Lot of Fun (CHALOF) summer programs. Junior leaders assist in leading games, arts and crafts, sports, music, and other fun activities for approximately 30 – 100 children at our Camp Kids and CHALOF summer camps. In addition, there are a number of special events including movie nights, miniature golf and various other staff bonding events for the junior leaders scheduled throughout the summer. There are a limited number of Junior Leaders positions available. All applicants will be given an interview. Chosen candidates for the program will be assessed a $90 program fee to cover trip costs for the Junior Leader Programs.
REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR JUNIOR LEADER INTERVIEWS: Friday, April 15 for Camp Kids and Friday, April 22 for Camp Have A Lot of Fun Program begins June 6 and ends August 5. The Junior Leader Program runs Mondays through Fridays. For Camp Kids, two sessions are utilized each day, a morning session (8am – 12:30pm) and an afternoon session (12:30 – 5pm). Junior Leaders are chosen to attend one session only per day. CHALOF hours vary, for more information please call. In addition, one hourly training session will be held for Junior Leaders each week. Summer Jobs Camp Kids, Camp Have A Lot of Fun and Project HYPE summer programs are in need of Recreation Leaders. Leaders are needed Mondays through Fridays for various hours. Leader hours are approximately 20 to 30 hours per week. Program hours vary. Most programs run between 8am and 5pm. Leaders will be asked to assist in running summer recreation programs which could include: sports activities, active and passive games, arts and craft activities, music, drama and assisting with special events. In addition, leaders will need to attend weekly meetings and/or special events at various hours following their program sessions. Our Summer Programs are for children ages 3-13 years. The Mission Oaks Recreation and Park District has contracted with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department to provide park security since 1985. The primary function of the Mission Oaks Park Patrol is to patrol the parks and facilities of the park district and provide law enforcement when and where needed.

Monday, July 4th Come celebrate America at the 14th Annual Arden Arcade 4th of July Parade. The Parade starts at 10:30am at 2700 Fulton Avenue, just south of Marconi. The procession of floats travels south to Cottage Way, west on Cottage to Bell, and north to Howe Park. Following the Parade is a family celebration with food, fun and games. An awards ceremony for best floats in a variety of categories will begin at 11:15am. We thank our friends at Fulton El Camino Recreation & Park District for this FUN & FREE community event.
CARMICHAEL 4th of July Parade Monday, July 4th
Begin the morning at the Elks for breakfast buffet from 7-11am. Cost $5 per adult and $3 per child under the age of 12. Then settle in for the 58th annual Carmichael 4th of July Parade beginning at 10:30am. This is the longest-running parade in Sacramento County. It begins at Marconi near Fair Oaks Blvd, and concludes at the Elks Lodge on Cypress Ave. We thank the Carmichael Elks for this fun annual event for the community.
