The Project Lifelong Outdoor Adventure Series is designed to give teenagers a variety of unforgettable environmental experiences. Rock climbing, ATV riding, paddle boarding, hiking, camping, you name it! This powerful program combines experiential outdoor learning with environmental stewardship and action sports while traveling throughout diverse areas in northern California. These trips are for students 12-17 years of age. All trips have limited space and are first come first serve. Register your child for an adventure today!

COALITION FOR A SAFE AND HEALTHY ARDEN ARCADE CSHAA is comprised of community leaders, law enforcement, residents, and youth. We meet every third Wednesday of the month from 4 to 5:30 PM at the Conzelmann Community Center. The Coalition for a Safe and Healthy Arden Arcade is a community coalition dedicated to creating an environment that promotes positive choices for its youth, especially around health, substance use and violence.
The Arden Arcade Youth coalition (AAYC) serves middle and high school students. AAYC meets monthly and exists to enhance and mobilize student leaders in the region. The coalition meets from 4 PM to 6 PM at Swanston Community Center on the following dates: April 27 May 19 June 9

JUNIOR LEADER PROGRAMS The Junior Leader Programs are designed to provide experience and training to youth ages 12 – 17, in a fun learning environment. Junior Leaders are responsible for assisting our Recreation Leaders for Camp Kids and Camp Have a Lot of Fun (CHALOF) summer programs. Junior leaders assist in leading games, arts and crafts, sports, music, and other fun activities for approximately 30 – 100 children at our Camp Kids and CHALOF summer camps. In addition, there are a number of special events including movie nights, miniature golf and various other staff bonding events for the junior leaders scheduled throughout the summer. There are a limited number of Junior Leader positions available. All applicants will be given an interview. Chosen candidates for the program will be assessed a $90 program fee to cover trip costs for the Junior Leader Programs.
Program tentatively begins June 7 and ends August 4. The Junior Leader Program runs Mondays through Fridays. For Camp Kids, two sessions are utilized each day, a morning session (8am – 12:30pm) and an afternoon session (12:30 – 5pm). Junior Leaders are chosen to attend one session only per day. CHALOF hours are approximately 8am-1pm. In addition, one hourly training session will be held for Junior Leaders each week. The Junior Leader programs are for children ages 12 – 17 years. SUMMER JOBS Camp Kids, Camp Have A Lot of Fun and Project HYPE summer programs are in need of Recreation Leaders. Leaders are needed Mondays through Fridays for various hours. Leader hours are approximately 20 to 30 hours per week. Program hours vary. Most programs run between 8am and 5pm. Leaders will be asked to assist in running summer recreation programs which could include: sports activities, active and passive games, arts and craft activities, music, drama and assisting with special events. In addition, leaders will need to attend weekly meetings and/or special events at various hours following their program sessions. Our Summer Programs are for children ages 3-13 years. "A course for building a safe and successful babysitting business." Upon successful course completion, each student will receive a 2-year certificate for Child and Babysitting Safety and for CPR/First Aid. For ages 12-18. MINDSTORMS EV3 Robotics (incoming grades 5 through 9) and WeDo Robotics (incoming grades 1 through 4) use the familiar LEGO product and give students an active role in computer science and STEM learning at the appropriate grade level while they build robots, learn to code, and use bluetooth technology. Students learn about forces and motion while they develop robots capable of complex thinking. Only two students are paired with each kit and computer. Choose the first week of either MINDSTORMS or WEDO, and your engineer can return for more excitement for the second week at the Advanced level. For more information call 333-6464.

Mission Oaks is a proud co-sponsor with Carmichael Recreation & Park District, who hosts a variety of Adult Sports Leagues. • Women’s Volleyball plays on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Coed Volleyball plays on Wednesdays and Thursdays. • 5-on-5 Basketball leagues run on Mondays and 3-on-3 Basketball is held on Wednesdays. • The Coed Softball league plays on Fridays. • Pickleball, Disc Golf and Senior Softball are also offered. The softball games are played at Carmichael Park, while the other sports leagues play games in the La Sierra Community Center gymnasium.
