The History of our Hotel

Winter

1964

1966

1971

1977 1983 / 1984 Hotel Sonnberg was acquired, the rooms were completely refurbished. A covered corridor was added, connecting Sonnberg and Alpina.

1964 Karl Heinz Platzer and his mother Rosa Platzer opened their first bed & breakfast accommodating up to 45 guests.

1988

1966 The guesthouse was slightly refurbished and enlarged (entrance, restaurant, lobby).

1991

1971 The B&B accommodated already 110 guests. A large dining hall was added – as well as the “Zirbenstube” pine wood parlor and a spacious lobby with open fireplace.

1977 Reconstruction of the old part.

1997 The rooms above the dining hall were reconstructed, adding living areas of up to 167 m² in size.

2003 The hotel’s main entrance changed and the sun terrace was extended – as well as the non-smoking dining hall. Also the buffet room was newly designed.

2000 A residential building for the hotel employees was opened. The sauna parlor was enlarged, and a new panorama relaxation room was opened. 1988 All 18 south-facing rooms were refurbished to Alpina junior suite standard. Also Sonnberg’s southern rooms were enlarged and improved.

1991 An eventful year in our hotel’s history: a new hotel lobby was built right above the indoor pool, the whole entrance-reception area was newly designed. Also the dining hall and the “Zirbenstube” pine wood parlor were extended. New deluxe double rooms were added, D category and in part C category.

2001 Alpina’s kitchen was newly built, while the rooms located above were freshly designed and extended.

2007 Hotel Alpina saw extensive construction works: the entire wellness parlor was refurbished, a large underground parking area was built, a new fitness room and a ski & ski boot storage room were added.

1985 An indoor pool & a sauna parlor were built by the Platzer Family.

2010 Newly designed indoor pool area. Indoor pool and water filtration system were replaced.

2012 The hotel’s dining hall was refurbished in top modern and elegant style.
