Mary Queen of Scots Festival Part of Scotland’s year of History, Heritage and Archaeology 2017, the Mary Queen of Scots Festival celebrates the cultural history of the Kinross area and the connection to Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots. Including a programme of historical events, exhibitions, food and drink, and children’s entertainment, this is one not to be missed. Solas Festival Scotland’s midsummer festival is here! A weekend-long celebration for all ages, the festival celebrates music and the arts and has been created to entertain, inspire kids and adults alike! Perthshire Highland Games With fourteen different events covering the length and breadth of the region from May to September Perthshire’s calendar of Highland Games is an amazing spectacle of tradition and culture, and guarantees a fun day out for all the family. Heavy events, highland dancing, piping and more are all on show in this wonderful Scottish event! Dates: 29th May – 10th September (different days for different areas) More Information: There are 14 highland games in Perthshire who are each members of The Perthshire Highland Games Association. Dig It! With seven months packed full of events, Dig It! will take you and the family on a journey through the archeological sites and history of Perthshire. Get your hands dirty at an excavation, book in for one of the fascinating guest lectures and discover new and exciting stories form the past. Perth Medieval Fayre Following the success of the Treaty of Perth event in 2016 Perth will hold it’s Medieval Fayre again with lots of new additions and some old favourites coming back including #Clanadonia, Threads in Time, The Knights of Moneymusk, mini petting zoo, medieval re-enactments, Pottery, Arbroath Smokies and much more. A great day out for all the family!
