ANNUAL VETERANS DAY COMMEMORATION Call for Nominations

Save the date! This year’s Veterans Day Commemoration will take place on Thursday, Nov. 5 at the Downtown Clubhouse. The MAC will honor the Veteran of the Year, a retired or former member of the U.S. military from the St. Louis area who demonstrates support of veterans and the U.S. in everyday life, who serves as a role model for other citizens, and who is respected for his or her service to veterans. If you know a deserving veteran, nominate him or her for Veteran of the Year. To nominate an individual, complete the nomination form located online under My MAC > Communication > Documents and submit to Katie Maurer by Friday, Aug. 21.

CRITERIA FOR SELECTION A retired or former member of the U.S. military nominated for the MAC honored veteran award should meet the following criteria: F A veteran who demonstrates support of veterans and the U.S. in everyday life. F A veteran who serves as a role model for other citizens. F A veteran who is respected for his or her service to veterans. F An individual who has served in the United States military on

Active Duty or in the National Guard or Reserve and is respected for his or her military accomplishments. F Nominee must live or work in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, St.

Charles County, Franklin County, Jefferson County, or the Metro

East area. F The individual selected is expected to attend the MAC Veterans Day

Luncheon. SUBMISSION PARAMETERS F Attach a brief description describing why your nominee should be selected for the MAC Honored Veteran of the Year. F Be specific in describing the military service, civilian and/or military achievements of your nominee, i.e. length of service, grade/rank, a list or description of specific accomplishments, activities while in the military service and in support of military members and veterans, and the numbers of people impacted by the service etc. F List of decorations and awards received. F Self nominations will not be considered. F Typed nominations are preferred and limited to two pages. F Letters of recommendation are helpful, but not necessary. F If available, include a copy of the nominee’s DD 214 Certificate of

Release or Discharge from Active Duty. F Obtain the permission of your nominee to submit his or her nomination. F Submit nomination forms to Missouri Athletic Club c/o Katie

The MAC’s eighth annual Ryder Cup took place on Thursday, July 23 at Glen Echo Country Club. At the event, the white team edged out the red team 12.5 to 11.5 well enjoying MAC camaraderie. Thank you to all who participated in this sold-out event. Women’s Initiative Group

The Women’s Initiative Group meeting and happy hour on Tuesday, July 22 was a great time had by many members. The group discussed ways of helping to provide women of the Club with opportunities for fitness, social, professional and philanthropic engagements to support the Club’s vision. Upcoming events include their signature event Women of Distinction Luncheon, Sip and Shop, Topgolf, Women Business Owners Roundtable, Sip and Cook and Women’s Wellness Week. After the meeting, the group enjoyed cocktails on the 1903 Patio.
