WINTER 2016
Attention Gas and Pipeline Members! The MOCS Sponsored Excavator Education Program participation period for 2017 has been set for February 1st – March 31st! The primary contact for your company on our records will be notified with detailed instructions on how and where to go online to participate. In the late 1980’s, the MoPSC incorporated into the Pipeline Safety Regulations Department of Transportation §192.614 Damage Prevention Program requirements that allowed the gas and pipeline members of Missouri One Call System (MOCS) to participate in an excavator mailing program that is administered by MOCS. This program meets the minimum requirements of §192.614 for notifying and educating excavators in their service territory about damage prevention. At present, gas members who choose to participate in this program submit an annual update of additions to the MOCS excavator list. These additions are merged into the MOCS excavator mailing list. Using the excavator mailing list that is updated with your additions, MOCS will mail out (2) Excavator Newsletters around March 15th and September 15th each year to the excavators on the mailing list. The MOCS Member Newsletters are mailed out in June and December each year. These mailings allow the participating member to comply with the requirements of the MoPSC. You are required to keep copies of these newsletters on file for inspections. If you do not have copies of the newsletters, you can go to our website at www.mo1call.com, click on the Utilities box, then on the left hand side bar click on Newsletters. It is very important for you to review the list annually. Even though you may have entered “XXX Excavator” for the previous participation period that excavator may not be on the list for the new participation period if they still did not call in or process a locate notification during the past 12 month period. Every December the excavator list is replaced with a new list of all excavators that called in or processed locates during the previous 12 month period.

Excavator Ticket Management Process relocates, no responses, extended start time, and cancel tickets faster than ever! If you already process your tickets online, you can log onto isite@mo.itic.occinc.com and open your Ticket List by clicking on the Excavator Ticket Management button located on the left side of the Isite main page. The Excavator Ticket Management (ETM) tool keeps track of all tickets you have processed. Tickets are kept in the database for five years. ETM can be used to view the current status for all utilities that were notified on each ticket. It also helps with reprocess items by showing you the available ticket actions for each ticket. When viewing a ticket, the ticket actions (Refresh, No Response, Extend, and Cancel) are shown at the top of the ticket. These actions will be red if they are unavailable for that ticket for any reason. A new feature available in ETM is the ability to batch reprocess tickets. Simply click in the box on the left side of the ticket to choose which tickets you would like to view and click the “process selected tickets” button located at the top of the Ticket List.
You will then be shown the list of tickets you selected along with a green check mark under the available ticket actions for that ticket. Click the appropriate button at the bottom of the list to process the tickets. ETM can also be used to organize your projects. Do you take pictures of the excavation area after the lines have been located, but before you’ve started your job? If so, you can upload the pictures to your tickets, and we’ll keep them attached and on file for five years. Another useful feature is the ability to categorize your tickets. Categories available are: “cancelled,” “completed,” “future job,” “in progress,” “pending ticket check,” and “ready to be worked.” Using the category feature can help you through the entire process from beginning a project to completing the entire job. For help, or for a more detailed walk through of the ETM product, please contact Becky McClain, Web Products Coordinator, at moitic@occinc.com or 573-636-1566.
